It wasn't like Briar wanted to come off as paranoid, but he had to admit to himself that he was relieved Coren took the safer routes while leading the hopelessly lost foreigner in the direction of the Boardwalk. Granted, he'd been given no real reason to misbelieve, but there was no such thing as being too careful in his closed-off world. While he obediently followed the supposed mage through the streets and pathways, his mind raced around the purpose of this predicament. He didn't want to question any motives just yet, though he couldn't well ignore that they were of some importance here. He knew how these sorts of deals worked out in Sunberth, and it was always good to have some inkling of an idea before putting yourself at your employers mercy. Doubt was foremost in his mind that the market for information in Avanthal looked the same, but there was no way for him to completely subdue the unease. Despite that, he followed without much complaint to the outside world, letting his heavy clothes do their part in concealing his doubts and apprehensions. Like many other locations in the city, the Windward Boardwalk was one that Briar had never heard of or visited previously. He was positively surprised when the pair stepped out from the streets to be greeted by what seemed to be a snow-covered park in front of them with the "boardwalk" stretching out through it with archways of trees lining it. It was a much more pleasant location than Briar could've hoped and he drew a sigh of relief once he'd taken a moment to just look around himself. "... This is a good location.
