Name: Gideon Linvaille
Age and Birthdate: 75th of Autumn, the year 485 (25 years of age)
Race: Human
Gender: Male

Standing at a sturdy six foot, Gideon has icy blue eyes that seem to strike anyone their gaze falls upon, as if he were staring deep into them. Gideon has a fair complexion and a sturdy frame, weighing in at a healthy 173 lbs. He has flowing, straight dark brown hair and it hangs at about his shoulders.

More of an artistic soul than most who look at him might realize, he spends a great deal of his free time writing and thinking about life. His writing is not well known, nor does he profess it to be any shade of brilliance, but he is content with it all the same.

Having been trained from his youth by monks in a small monastery near the border of Sylira and Taldera, Gideon learned more about religious tenacity than he did combat; it was his own decision to take up the broadsword and train with it day and night from the time he was fourteen. Having had little to know proper training, his proficiency with it is minimal, but he is comfortable using it.

Gideon has, as of yet, never taken a life. Mentally he believes he is prepared to do what he has to do in order to ensure Justice prevails, but emotionally he is still at the level of a child- murder is something he grew up with, having seen his parents slain by bandits and having been protected by monks and taken in.

He watched, more often than he would like to remember, as people crawled desperately toward the monastery gates, only to be locked out just before the bandits caught up to them. The monks were not gods, only followers. When legions of slaughter-hungry men came, they were the cliff against which the tide crashed but never broke. Unfortunately, they were not strong enough to keep every single person seeking their sanctuary alive.

Gideon hated it. He hated the way the people suffered. He began to hate wrongdoing, and zealously trained his mind and body to prepare himself to wage war on those who would foul the world so wholly.

In so training, Gideon deemed himself the "Purist," a zealot for righteousness and a champion of those who had no one. Of course, it was a delusion of grandeur on his part, but he wears the title proudly whenever given the opportunity.

That being said, Gideon has a soft spot for people in need. If he sees some one in need, he will literally go out of his way to see their needs fulfilled. It is a vice more often than not, and he gets used or goes without thanks quite often, but he finds it to be satisfying no less.

At the age of sixteen, Gideon rode with the Syliran Knights into battle against the bandits, barely making it out alive. He used the experience to note that his place was not among those men, but traveling the world and putting his abilities to use.

During his time with the knights, however, Gideon did receive the small amount of aforementioned broadsword training, small things like proper technique and upkeep of the weapon and the discipline of a knight in it's use. He fashions himself a believer of Tyveth.

One of Gideon's secret vices, one that he is sorely ashamed of, is the desire for vengeance against the men who killed his parents. Their names were well known to the monks and they were never caught, but Gideon vowed to one day right their wrongs on the world with an oath on his own life. Their current whereabouts are unknown, and the trail has been cold for five years.
