Hurricane Sandy

Not sure how many of us are on the East Coast of the USA, but I'm right in Mass. so I'm not sure if/when I'll lose power. Depending on how bad it gets, you may not see me for a few days.

Good luck to anyone else in the path of Sandy!

Yeah. I'm actually in Delaware right now.

The wind is intense. Stay safe everyone!

Hurricane Sandy

Postby Caster on October 31st, 2012, 10:35 am

Uhh last I heard, about 18 dead in NYC. Mostly due to falling trees. Over 100 houses went down in flames. Lost power Monday night, came back Tuesday night around 10:30. Didn't bother to leave because we had no where else to go and it really beats sitting in a car in flooded streets so...this was what it looked like outside our window.

Hai Sandy!

The water did get somewhat higher, flooded the parking lot. Destroyed countless decks, totaled a car that was near the ocean, tossed an AC on someone's roof, ripped someone's garage door off, among other things.

And I got hit in the face with sea water on a drive back from the store (the streets flooded on our way back) and it was...one of the nastiest things I've tasted. -.-;;

As of now we've got rain. Lower Manhattan has no power and a few other places in Queens, Brooklyn lack it as well. There are still people being rescued in...Long Island I think.

And the "famous" boardwalk from Jersey Shore is missing a chunk of it which is now adrift in the sea.

They said this broke a record of reaching four feet or something.
