There is a deep desire to travel and sample of the world's delicacies lying outside the limits of Zeltiva. Character History Cloistered and doted upon by a well meaning yet oppressive family of textile traders, Alin grew up amidst shipping manifests, sales ledgers, and the industrious tutelage of his parents. His father had done well to teach young Alin to write and read, his curiosity for knowledge bloomed as the boy became a young man. Often found around the Quills Rest, or the university, Alin became familiar with the nebulous world of words, their ability to create and affect his world motivating him to become an avid poet and writer of prose. The only driving force behind his desire to grasp life with words was the desire for a meaningful visceral experience that took place within his real life. No longer satisfied with being regaled with the tales from the sailors and various others that passed through Zeltiva, or to be resigned to the family trade; the young man devoted less to writing and more to martial study, becoming in the course of two years, a novice swordsman when he wasn't busy helping his father with the comings and goings of the textiles that passed through the port city. Compounded by the impact of the Winter Ball incident and the Storm of Spring 512, Alins awareness of his hunger for a more corporeal experience increased with his awareness of his ability to have a physique. At age twenty, Alin saved enough from his work transcribing lectures for students and the family business to set out upon his own. Taking a flat in town for the time being, he seeks to find some semblance of direction towards the more distant horizons of Mizahar, despite his fear of the unknown.
