To be like Them (Roi)

TimeStamp: 24th day of fall, 512 AV

The sound of thunder erupted as Daghul pulled his wings down sending him high into the morning sky which sent a wave of air rushing across Red's face letting both Wind Eagle and Endal to breath in the cool refreshing air. It was the time again and Red began his scouting mission as always with a good flight for fun before entering into the rigor of checking out the unforgiving around the Reach.

After the last few days with the recent wind storm that had kept Red and Daghul confined to the ground the two were morn the eager to get out and explore the world's sky, and of course the land below as it was his job to take account for anything that might be odd in the land. This was the life of a Endal which was funny to him because he could remember being a boy and making the Endal life one of adventure and danger at every turn, of course and being a hero.

Life as a Endal was far from that, and that was the last thought had before Daghul warned him of the next change in direction which was a wide sweeping circle in the sky before Daghul started to make his descent close to the ground so the two could get a better look at the rolling land, and the dense trees. There were a few spots, well more then just a few, that neither Red or Daghul could really see through, so they did there best to see what they could.

The day seemed pretty calm other then the gushing wind above the clouds and that was just how life was up there. In this case though of a day refreshing with the sun out Red had a hard time sticking to just watching the ground, but Daghul kept him in line as the two kept to their scanning.

To be like Them (Roi)

This was his moment to shine. no longer was he confined by his father's will. No longer did he have to practice in secrecy his archery. Roi was finally free to do as he pleased. First on his long list of things to do was to begin hunting. Hunting like the Endals would. It has always been his dream to live the life of an Endal. Especially after the stories his grandfather told him of his adventures. They fascinated him, but his father would never allow him to pursue a life style as glamorous as that. Well, thats all in the past. Today, Roi starts his life a new

He made his way out of the city as made his way to the Reach, believing he had the bow skills to survive. As he made his way through the wilderness he kept a constant look out for anything he could fire his arrows into for practice. Constantly scouting around for him, his falcons, Archimdes and Arrietty, looked out for any large creatures. Hearing a rustling within a bush around the corner, Roi peeked around, bow ready to see what it was, forgetting to signal and check with the falcons.

Daghul made a quick change in direction as he started in a large circle sending Red a alert to something he had seen on the ground. The trees in this area were pretty open as far as seeing went, but landing well that was kinda a different story. Red peered around Daghul's massive wings down to the unforgiving which was named so well as th e land was full of hazards that were just that unforgiving.

As the Endal scanned the ground his eyes caught sight of two things that made Red understand the alert that Daghul had sent him. The first thing was a young looking Inartan who seemed to be trying to hunt with two falcons that seemed to be studying the area from above. The second was the thing that really caught his eye there stalking his prey from behind was a creature that most should fear. A Rashkari. A fierce beat normally, but this one seemed bigger then a normal breed ranging somewhere in the 8 foot length, and it's black body seemed powerful as the white stripes gave it color like war paint. This was not good.

Out of the bushes in front of the inartan came out a small grey rabbit who seemed unaware of the man hunting it who was unaware of the large beast that stalk him from behind. There would be little time to worry about formal introductions today, and Red sent to Daghul to let him down. Daghul took the directions heading to the ground.

Red ready himself for yet another jump to the ground, but this time Daghul had perfected the feat and slowed down just above a tree as the Endal leaped out to one of the branches taking hold of it tightly. Then with out a second though he started to lower himself branch by branch as quickly as he could. The whole event took less then 30 seconds, and as Red hit the ground he ran over toward the man as the Rashkari started making ready to leap at the Inarta.

"HEY! Watch out!" was all Red could say as he drew out his talon sword and tried his best to get in the way of the beast before it made it's attack.

hmm this should be easy enough *Roi had thought to himself as he drew back an arrow, aiming at the small rabbit. he focused making sure he wouldn't miss his mark until his concentration was broken. he had heard a rustling in the trees as he looked up and saw the Endal coming down the trees. he was amazed. he's always seen them from a distance but never this close. he watched the Endal, to mesmerized by his presence to hear what he was trying to signal him to do. he stayed in this state until the words of "HEY! Watch out!" broke through his trance. he was confused at the statement at first until he had seen the creature. it's mass had block the view of the forest behind it. all roi could see was the large creature stand and then nothing. the creature had swung hard smashing roi into a nearby tree, knocking him unconscious right away*

The Endal forced himself to move faster as he watched the beast fling the boy aside like a rag doll. The sight every short of pleasant to watch. Twisting as he jumped in the air Red brought his talon sword around with him adding extra power to the blow against the cat like beast, but it must have heard the Inartan's warning call to the boy and shifted its body to engage the Endal. The attack was then avoided by the beast, and now Red was at the dis advantage as he fell to one knee the beast towering over him.

The two locked eyes understanding neither were the prey, and that deep inside they both were hunters. Both warriors in their own respect. It was a show down as a low growl silently echoed across the battle field though who it came from was unclear, maybe both. Somewhere over head Daghul let out a screech that sound way to much like the signal to start a duel, and with it both sprang into action.

The giant cat launched forward in attempt to pin Red to the ground, but the Endal saw it coming and rolled away. Now crouched ready to strike the Endal watched his foe knowing that the beast would strike out at him once again any second, and this fight wouldn't last long if Red didn't come up with a better plan.

*roi was out like a light for a bit as the battle went on. slowly he began to nod and sway his head as his eyes began to open. seeing the creature lunge at the endal he was relieved knowing that the man was holding his own against the beast but he also knew that one man couldn't take a creature like that in it's own territory. he stood, struggling through the immense pain, feeling a couple of his bones were broken. as he pulled him self through the pain he grabbed hold of his bow drawing back the arrow with as much strength as he could. with the arrow draw he tried to aim, dizzied from the blow and pain. with the creature's focus on the endal he took his luck now not being able to focus and let go of the arrow towards the blurred image of the large beast*

The arrow shot forward speeding through the air, and slashed the top of the Rashkari's shoulder leading into the beast lifting up a giant roar as it rear around facing the swaying archer. Red took his chance pushing off with his left leg he rammed the beast hoping it would throw it to the ground, but it was little more the a shove to the giant cat. Throwing it off balance only in the least bit possible the Endal thought was enough to get him to focus once again on the Endal.

Sending up his thoughts to Daghul Red asked if the bird could find a way to land and pick up the two Inartan men, but before he got his answer the Cat through his body back at Red sending him rolling across the unforgiving ground. The Beast launched another attack at the Endal who struggled to get to his knees and roll out of the way again.

Pain from his body being thrown coursed through his tiring limbs as he brought the sword back up and sent a jab at the Rashkari who beat it away before locking eyes with Red once again almost as if he was mocking the other hunter. The Endal pushed off the ground hearing Daghul in the sky above him encouraging him to stand back up and fight. Wishing the other man could fight he almost sent a glance his way, but stopped when the fear that the beast would take it's chances surfaced.
