Over the past years, I've heard about a lot of roleplaying communities. I've tried my hand at a few of them, and most often been horribly disappointed. Generally, I hear about one through word of mouth or see an advertisement, and they are almost always described as "thoughtful and intelligent", though the vast majority aren't anything near what they are described as.

Mizahar is unique, then, as a roleplay that wasn't overtly described as thoughtful, intelligent, or word-heavy when I first heard tell of it. I was simply told that it was a non-Tolkeinian fantasy. I was intrigued, and to my exquisite delight, Mizahar is the most intelligent community I've ever been directed to. I've been observing and considering my character for quite a while, now. I believe I started reading the wiki in mid-September and began drafting my Character Sheet over two weeks ago. Yes, I'm the type that prefers all their ducks in a row before they begin playing/writing. I can hardly say Mizahar is populated by players, rather, it is a community of writers. This is definitely the biggest draw about it.

Anyone on Mizahar who wants to refer to me as opposed to my character (who is still being revised, circa 22:05:47/21/11/12) may call me RF. If I told you what RF stood for, you'd probably be able to find my previous work with ease, and I'd rather be judged by my contribution to this community instead of on external work. So, to ensure an unbiased view of myself, I am simply RF for the time being.

In addition to a "standard" level of participation as the writer of a PC, I would like to work on the development of Mizahar's languages, especially Vani (as I'm going to be playing a Vantha, though this likely went without saying). I am probably going to work to expand everything my character regularly uses, both for myself and the community.

I forsee Mizahar draining the vast majority of my free time in the coming years. Fortunately, I'm more than alright with this. I intend on being an author as a career, so Mizahar is an excellent venue for experimentation and practice. Also, it will be rather entertaining, but that's merely a very appreciated side effect.

Well, I think that's everything I can immediately think of. Ach, I used "think" twice in the same sentence. Good gods, I'm going to have to cut my tongue out. Or, rather, remove my fingers, as I'm typing this. Although dictation software might be necessary if I become too involved in Mizahar.

Regards, RF!
If I'm speaking something besides Vani, I'll say I am. I probably won't speak anything else, though. Or maybe I will, and I'll do something fun with it. Something really fun.

Welcome to Mizahar, RF. I'm glad this site has impressed you. As someone who has written in many other places, I can see where you're coming from. Your comment about Mizaharians not being players, but writers, rings especially true for me. People here are just as focused on the literary aspects of writing as the imaginary ones.

Players (catch-all term, sorry) are allowed and encouraged to contribute to the game's lore, provided you get the proper permissions and are an active player. Language codexes are one of my favorite things about fantasy games.

I once had a Vantha character, and I often wondered what Vani would sound like, being it's a very unique language adapted for storytelling. One overlooked aspect about Vantha culture is their Morwen's Icereaving Mark, which actually alters their perception to cold and gives them the ability to manipulate ice. Since this is a racial gnosis every Vantha gets, you don't see a lot of people putting a focus on it. I had planned to, until my Vantha and I fell out of sorts and I stopped writing for her.

If you ever need help getting around Mizahar or have any questions that need answering, hit me up with a PM. I love helping new players (many people do in fact). Mizahar is a very friendly community to boot.

At night, I am Symenestra.
