Elna looked up with regret as Oitera responded. She liked the sound of her ideals, to never stop improving herself until she is the very best at what she does. Elna didn't even care about her tone this time, they were both in a bit of a huff at this point. She'll probably even keep pushing forward even at the top if she has the right attitude. It was rather refreshing to hear someone who generally wanted to better themselves, rather then just assume they were better than others. Elna wasn't sure if she could truly believe everything she was saying, but she would certainly like too.
Elna gave out a relived smile as Oitera tried to comfort her. "Yeah, I kind of hope that too. Hope is only worth so much though." She responded half jokingly. Elna's body perked up when Elna surprisingly laid her arm around her. She would have expected if Oitera wanted to make contact with her after all she said, it would have come more in the form of a punch to the face. Elna was glad she went for a softer approach. "Thanks for that. As long as I'm not a Dek I think I will be fine."
Elna was amazed really, that Oitera could turn around after being torn into like that and still come out as compassionate. Elna's reaction to anger was far less dignified. Perhaps their was still time to save a little face, however. "I'm sorry… For yelling I mean. You didn't deserve it. I'm really in no position to be yelling at people for wanting a better life for themselves. And thank you, not everyone would be so nice after…all that. And I like your idea, about being the best. It would be earning respect rather then just letting it fall in your lap and leaving it at that." Elna already found it embarrassing to bring up her behavior. Maybe her humility would be something to work on as well as her outbursts.
