Elna looked up with regret as Oitera responded. She liked the sound of her ideals, to never stop improving herself until she is the very best at what she does. Elna didn't even care about her tone this time, they were both in a bit of a huff at this point. She'll probably even keep pushing forward even at the top if she has the right attitude. It was rather refreshing to hear someone who generally wanted to better themselves, rather then just assume they were better than others. Elna wasn't sure if she could truly believe everything she was saying, but she would certainly like too.

Elna gave out a relived smile as Oitera tried to comfort her. "Yeah, I kind of hope that too. Hope is only worth so much though." She responded half jokingly. Elna's body perked up when Elna surprisingly laid her arm around her. She would have expected if Oitera wanted to make contact with her after all she said, it would have come more in the form of a punch to the face. Elna was glad she went for a softer approach. "Thanks for that. As long as I'm not a Dek I think I will be fine."

Elna was amazed really, that Oitera could turn around after being torn into like that and still come out as compassionate. Elna's reaction to anger was far less dignified. Perhaps their was still time to save a little face, however. "I'm sorry… For yelling I mean. You didn't deserve it. I'm really in no position to be yelling at people for wanting a better life for themselves. And thank you, not everyone would be so nice after…all that. And I like your idea, about being the best. It would be earning respect rather then just letting it fall in your lap and leaving it at that." Elna already found it embarrassing to bring up her behavior. Maybe her humility would be something to work on as well as her outbursts.

[Fletcher's Corner] Finding Common Targets (Oitera)

Elna seemed to had calmed down a bit now so maybe there were hope for a new friendship after all. But she had to say that Elna seemed a bit surprised when she laid an arm around her, but honestly she was a bit surprised herself. Since she wasn't used to interact with people, she wasn't used to how she would react to stuff either. But she couldn't really say she wasn't still a little angry, she was trying to hide it and if she could say it herself, she was succeeding quite well. Hopefully she would be able to keep it that way as well, she din't think it would be a problem unless Elna started pointing things out again.

"Thanks." She smiled at Elna and tried to smile as normal as possible. "And what's the fun off being the best if someone else have chosen it for you? If someone have chosen it, that person can probably bring you down again. And it's no problem, I would've reacted the same way. But the important thing is that we're friends again, right?" Oitera really hoped calling Elna her friend wasn't a to big risk, there were still a chance that Elna would not want to be her friend. "I've never had any friend my own age for very long" Honestly, she didn't think she had had any friend her own age ever, at least not a 'real friend', but it wasn't worth mentioning. Not yet at least.

Friends huh? It seemed a little early to be calling them friends, but its not like Elna knew anything about what the line between acquaintance and friend was or even if it mattered. She preferred to assume it didn't matter anyway. She went on to say she hadn't had a friend her own age for very long. Elna made an inadvertent closed mouth giggle at that comment. It would certainly explain the mutual awkwardness that was going on between them. "Sorry I didn't mean to laugh. It just that I'm the same way. It kind of a weird thing to have in common. I like the idea though."

Maybe this was just what Elna needed, someone else just as bad with people. Not only, that but Oitera had an ambition and work ethic that Elna could get behind. She wanted to try being more sociable anyway. She was looking forward to spending more time with her friend, and it felt good to have optimism win out over cynicism.

[Fletcher's Corner] Finding Common Targets (Oitera)

Yeah, indeed weird. She thought that she was, well not the only one but one off the few that haden't got very many friends. "Yeah." She smiled but furrowed her eyebrows a little, not cause she was mad or anything - well she was still a bit angry but not very much and that wasn't the reason she furrowed her eyebrows - but just cause it was indeed a bit strange. "But maybe we can both change that now then." she continued, still smiling. The only danger that she could see now was that which they had just avoided, that one off them insult the other, accidentally or not. But hopefully that wouldn't happen, or at least they would be able to ignore it if it would happen. Anyway, she couldn't do anything about it right now, so why worry about it?

But what she could do right now is to get back to the shooting. So she let go of Elna and stood up, walking over and getting ready to shoot the target. But all that had happened disturbed her concentration and it didn't go so well, 5th ring, 3rd ring, 6th, 5th ring again and then the 4th. She didn't get very disturbed by that since she didn't feel that the shooting was very important right now.

Elna smiled. She had been given a rare moment where she was given something to look forward too. Having something to practice her skill set with was just what she needed. But she felt she got more then that with Oitera, she could get the emotional support that she had been denying herself all of these years.

Oitera went back to shoot, hitting points a little bit below her average. It seems like she was still a bit out of focus, still under the stress and distractions that had plagued the both of them through out the night. Elna stood up and looked at he door as Oitera returned. "What do you say to taking a break" She said gesturing with her thumb towards the exit. " We could relax a bit over some tea. I think we could both use it. We could toast to our new friendship or something" She giggled a bit at the thought of it, this was all still so surprisingly novel to her.

Nice meeting thread, you two! Some interesting interactions for sure! Though, I would watch the continually of emotions between posts. And always remember that the more detailed, longer posts can produce more experience awards! :)
