Woath the Forgetful

Physical Description
At his full height, Woath stands at 8' tall. Burdened with a sedentary build and a great barreling abdomen, the Jamoura moves about with a ponderous gait when at rest, but is capable of prodigious bursts of speed when an urgent situation arises. His blue-black fur grows thick all over his body, but for some odd but barely noticeable white streaks on his hands and feet, and the upper right of his head.

Name: Woath
Race: Jamoura
Age: 250 years
Birthday: 2nd day of Summer, 262 A.V.

Character Concept

From an early age, Woath set his ambition on becoming an alpha, a desire that was compounded by regular, goodnatured rough-housing by his brothers, who were always better at feats of strength than him, with more luck pursuing mates later on. Odd among his kind, he always felt a subtle call to power, his childish daydreams having consisted of owning and dominating a large section of the Spires, or perhaps another realm entirely. These flighty daydreams were tempered by consistent attendance to the Petal of Meditation, where he excelled in studies of esoteric lore and the scribe's art.

Woath relishes solitude, and often takes it upon himself to separate from the world of sentience and sit in silent commune with a remote area of the wilderness.

He is gentle toward strangers, but quick to anger against those who've been shown to offend him in the past.

Character History

Woath grew up in a typical family unit within the Spires. His father, Voshr, was not himself an alpha and as such kept only one wife, Letha. Together they had four children, three boys and one girl, of whom Woath was the fourth born. His upbringing was unremarkable for the most part. He played games mostly with his own siblings as opposed to those not related to him, and was a shy child despite his secret ambitions (even then) of world domination. Most often, he took his collection of wooden figurines and played at commanding large armies of them against those kept by his brothers.

When he grew to adolescence, he slowly lost interest in the toys of his boyhood, and attended lectures at the Petal of Meditation. He was an apt pupil of the teachers there, and took it upon himself to absorb all manner of unusual lore. His thirst for knowledge of the world and the ways of the outside were insatiable, to the point where his lecturers chided him for his impatience when he asked ceaseless questions during the presentations.

As he grew to adulthood, he became apprenticed to a scribe within the Petal of Meditation. There he learned more about the craft, and practiced it studiously, recording what he learned during lectures and ventures into libraries.

In the chaos of the Djed storm of 512, Woath and his kin were rendered homeless, and left to rebuild in the wreckage. During the subsequent onset of the fog, one of Woath's excursions to the surrounding wilderness were interrupted by a crazed riemancer, who thought that by performing a modified initiation ritual on the Jamoura, he could attain mastery over him. Unfortunately for the mage, this was not the case. He was driven off, but not before Woath was initiated into reimancy. This wouldn't have been of much consequence, were it not for a peculiarity of the Jamoura's condition as a mage. As he experimented with the power, he found the memories and knowledge he'd acquired over his long lifetime began to evaporate. Even more alarming, as he indulged in experimentation with the Reimancy, unwelcome memories began to surface, memories awash with pain and anger, of being tormented and driven by human-kind as the forests around him burned.
