Character Concept Ozmandias is an inquisitive, stubborn, charming personality. Almost to the point of arrogance. Some might have trouble reading his intentions, only because he’s rarely sure just what he intends to do. Anyone interacting with Oz must be aware of his “talents”. He has quick wit and a home grown understanding of hypnotism that he’s not above using in a tight situation. You might want to trust him, but it would be wise to try to understand his motives before committing. Likes Oz is fascinated by all things unknown. Magic, undead, stories of haunting and ghosts. While he pretends to be a skeptic, in his heart he wants to experience a supernatural experience. Ethics Oz likes to operate in gray areas. Neither corrupt nor pure. Character History Oz grew up in a middle class home. His father a carver, his mother a songstress. From the time he was old enough to understand his father told him great tales of the unknown. His earliest memories are sitting in his father’s workshop while he worked, listening to his old man recite stories of ghosts, undead walking the lands, haunted waterfalls with a bridge nobody lives to cross. While families struggled, his neither thrived nor struggled. His father was a carver yes. But not an exceptionally talented one, yet he had no trouble selling his goods. Neither did he have a lack of people wanting to render his services. Ozmandias found the hypnotism his father employed to be a useful tactic. Begging to be taught his father relented. Still a novice himself, he was amazed at the speed his son picked up the talent. He watched as Oz blossomed. He knew at an early age Oz had little interest in carving, his mother dreaded her sons singing voice. But here was something he excelled at. Magic. And storytelling, always storytelling. He began to use his natural charisma and not so natural gift to run games on the other kids. Using sleight of hand tricks, a moving stone in which he always knew when to let them pick the right cup to look under to keep them playing. Ozmandias always seemed to have a trick up his sleeve. All the while escaping any serious trouble. When he turned 18 he began to yearn for knowledge. Knowledge that his parents couldn’t give him. He also sought adventure, there was an entire world to be explored and he felt confined in the cold of Avanthal. His parents knew a day soon would come to pass that their son would set out on his own. They did their best to quell his thirst, trying to keep him safe within their walls. Now however, Oz has set out on his own. With a few measly possessions and a mask given to him by his father. “Just a wooden thing, kind of creepy if you ask me” he said before handing the mask to his son. Oz loved it. The best his father had done. Clutching his goods he set out on his own. Someday he’ll return. Stronger than before.
