While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

"It has no doors, and sheds no light. A single stone at the base of the tower reads: Klet."

The Tower of Klet is a structure of unknown origin. It was present when the survivors of the Valterian once again sought the surface, but the previous generations had not told any stories of the building. It stands resolute watch over the coast of eastern Sylira. The foundations of the tower are nearly halfway between Sunberth and Nyka, nearer to the former.

While sailors have been known to use this structure as a landmark it appears to serve no other purpose. Those few who have approached the structure report that there is no visible entrance. While several windows appear in the walls of stone, the walls themselves are too sheer to be climbed by the average adventurer.

As is often the case with the unknown, the Tower of Klet is a subject of much superstition. There are those who avoid this stretch of water, firm in the belief that the tower brings a curse down on those who look upon it. A small handful of fishing boats travel this far along the coast in search of bounty, claiming that the tower brings their nets luck.

Whether this tower is a remnant of pre-Valterrian history or a product of that cataclysm is unclear. The happenings in this area of the Wildlands are no stranger than those in any other part of the wilderness, but that statement in itself proves that it is unsafe to visit the tower alone. If any expeditions have attempted to discover the nature of the tower, they have not reported their findings. This could be evidence that nothing of note was discovered, or that none who discovered anything of note managed to return and spread the tale.
