Pushed to my demise (Solo)

Postby Espiridion on January 5th, 2013, 7:04 am

When Espiridon looks up at the vivid blue sky with a wistful gaze, He thought about his family, the creatures he befriended and hardship he went through. He’s gaze shifted from the sky to the ground in the thought of being left to die. He watched his soulmist as it creates a trail from raising his arms to chest height, He looksd at his ghostly appendages while moving his fingers creating small white streaks that traced his movements. His attention then focused on the locket on the necklace around his neck, he grasps the gold locket and starts looking at its’ design. The locket had a peculiar design on it, it had a floral pattern on it with illegible writing on the back, He attempted to make out the words on the back but it was too worn. He opens the lock to see the old photo of a vague feminine person, was he stares the photo and his memories of his demise became vivid.

Es was shaken after receiving a fierce blow to the stomach and strike to the face. He couldn’t breathe, couldn’t speak and he couldn’t get up. He looks up at the group to see the attacker’s face, with eyes filled with pain he forced his lungs to breathe and pushed words from his mouth. Es said to the Attacker who towered over him with a faint voice.

“Please… stop…”
“Shut up!” he roared back as he raised his arm which casted a shadow over Es’ face.

Es blinked his eyes, and in a split second he found himself on the ground with the world slowly disappearing. His hearing faded, and after a few seconds so did his consciousness. Es slowly opened his eyes to find that he was by his tree, the tree that he spends his days in alone. He kept the location a secret and was worried that the boys knew where the tree was, he looked around to see if and damage has been done to the tree, but didn’t see anything. He now questions about how placed him here, but this thoughts were quickly dispersed after finding that the sunlight is fading from the land and quick heads home, limping all the way.

When Es arrives home, he opens the door in hope for a greeting from his mother, but instead found a parchment on the table. On the parchment, there was a hand written message with his mother’s hand writing on it, the massage explained that she was waiting at the docks for his father’s return and will be home very late. Es read the message and saw through what she was doing, she wasn’t waiting by the dock but mourning instead. Es gave a sigh, then puts down the letter back on the table. He then approached his room opening the door revealing his bed, hobbling to the bed he sat down and leaned back eventually flopping on across the bed. His’ muscles ached as me moved into a comfortable position, as he laid he began thinking deeply about his day. He recalled the reason for why such a brutal incident happened, Es was walking passed his antagonizes and he looked up, not at them but an insect that landed on one of the boys, and just like that a world of hurt was installed for Es. After thinking about the incident he became drowsy and fell asleep.

The next morning Es heads out to his tree but to his horror, his most precious tree, the tree he grew up with has been defiled. He stared in shock to see that the tree’s branches have been snapped and large portions have been cut off from the trunk, the truck was riddled with slashes and cuts. Es takes a step towards the tree, then another, then another until he reached it placing his hands on the trees wounded surface. Es shared most of his life with the tree, and seeing this was like knife had stuck in his heart and then being twisted. A pool of Es emotions seeped from his eyes and began trickling down his cheeks, the small stream of sadness turned bitter when he discovered the ones who were responsible for this unforgivable act. On the side of the tree he finds a message carved in the tree saying,

“What are you going to do about it?”

He knew who it was, it was his tormentors. He felt powerless due to his lack of physical strength, so once again he thought deeply. Deep in thought he came up with the idea of luring them to a trap that won’t harm them but ensnared them so he could have ‘fun’ for once. Staring at the now frail and destroyed tree, Es hoped it the best as he ran off in search for materials. Es searched around the docks for anything that could help him make some sort of trap, He gather a lot of things such as rope, planks of wood and stones. After collecting and ‘borrowing’ what he needed, he began constructing his revenge. Es wouldn’t normally harm anyone, but this pushed him over the edge. He continued planning and constructing using revenge to fuel him, he finished as the sun sets. Es is now ready to go through with his plans.

On stones he wrote, “You are cowards –Espiridon” which he threw at each of the boys locations. As Es waited second thoughts started to flow thought his mind. He knew there is a second way, but he wanted this to end now. He stands at near the docks, holding a rope behind his back as the group of antagonizes started to appear. Anger boiled as he looked each one of in the eye, he then started yelling with a distinct anger in his voice,

“Why, why would you do this!?”
“What do you mean ‘why’? You throw the damn rocks” said one of the boys in the mob.
“You know why, you moronic slugs! You can attack me all you want but the tree is too far!” he yelled with pure anger
“What are you talking abo-“
“Shut up! You’re all cowards and deserve to die!” Es interrupted

Es provoked them to charge towards him, just as he planned. As they closed the distance, Es pulls the rope that was concealed behind him which set off his trap. The trap was complex which involved the slight use of chain reactions, but something has happened. Es’ trap was flawed he forgot pieces here and there, his hatred made him rush the trap instead of making prefect. Es now stands, without a trap his plans are ruined. He began to run, run as fast as he could. Es’ ran to the dock without thinking, and now is trapped. Surrounded by water and a mob of enraged boys that’s sealing is only way to escape, Es turns around and face the attackers. With eyes filled with fear he takes a step back, then another, then another…
Es became airborne for a split second before crashing in the cold water’s surface. Es never learned how to swim; he flailed around in the water, screaming with a mouth full of water for help. He looks up in hope to see a hand to help him, but instead was left for dead as the boys walked off. Es kept fighting the water for air and was about to give up until a necklace dropped down. He grabbed the Silver necklace out of desperation, Es looks up to see a shadowy figure that looks around about his age who is attempting to pull Es near the dock. He was thankful that someone tried to same him, but the necklace lost tension. The figure loss his grip and Es sank…

“Who are you?” what the last thing Es thought before his lungs filled were filled with liquid death.

Espiridon Snaps out of his thoughts of the past and his focus came back to the gold locket. He then realizes that he needs to know who was that person and why did he or she save him. Closing the locket with his ghostly hands, He closes his eyes and thought about home before setting of to find his old home.

Notes: Past tense, past tense, past tense. In order to be cohesive with the rest of Mizahar, like if you were to read a novel, you really ought to write in all paste tense through your post, please keep this in mind.

(You were right, there were a lot of mistakes, mostly tensing issues and some spelling. Try to spend more time proof reading. That said your story and pacing I appreciated, and Espiridion sounds like a really cool character. I like that he is the under dog, and that his story isn't of revenge but love that he will never have now that he is dead. It's very romantic. Keep up the good work.) - if you have ANY questions or concerns about this grading, please PM me.
