Endrid "Ivan" Callaghan Basic Information Race: Human, Inarta Birthday & Age: AV 496, 16 years old Gender: Male Physical Description Hair Colour: Ink black (naturally auburn) Eye Colour: Blue-grey, rimmed with gold Height: 5'6 Weight: 120 lbs Build: Lean, but fairly well built. Stronger than he appears. Other: Slightly baby-faced. Has several large, claw-like scars on his back and upper arms. Ears are pierced, but doesn't wear earrings. Character Concept Ivan is very quiet person, but enjoys meeting new people. He is simple-minded and has almost child-like logic, but has an autistic type of intelligence that is often correlated with genius. For the most part, he is socially inept, and has a very narrow attention span. He is a slave to his curiosity, and hates being bored more than anything. Though he's not picky when it comes to friends or acquaintances, he particularly enjoys being around intelligent or unique people. He likes hot tea and most kinds of food, as well as the feeling of melting snow in his hands. He also has a soft spot for animals (specifically birds) and frequently misses his sister and her bonded Wind Eagle. Ironically, he has a strange phobia of large birds, and has no interesting in pursuing any Inarta skills. Though he is naturally gifted in falconry, he chooses not to develop it; it can almost be said that he has negative racial pride. He dyes his hair black to conceal his identity as an Inarta, and regularly reminds himself that he "left Endrid behind in Wind Reach". Character History When Ivan was a young boy living in Wind Reach, he went by the name Endrid. His twin sister Kisa was his best friend and the only person who could match wits with him. She was the only person he trusted, and in return for his trust, she kept him out of trouble. However, the day Kisa bonded to a Wind Eagle named Asta, everything started to go wrong. Initially, Ivan had been happy for his sister's happiness, but soon after she'd been chosen, Kisa had to leave him to live in the aeries. Without her care, his lack of social skills and his supposed "mental retardation" got him dropped to the caste level of a drudge, where he was often punished for refusing to do the tedious and repetitive work. After a while, he became tired of the drudgery (quite literally) and formulated a faultless plan to escape from the city. However, something went terribly wrong in his plan. He didn't account for being spotted by one of the night patrols, and was attacked by the young endal and Wind Eagle. However, he managed to conceal himself, and made it out of the ordeal, badly injured but alive. With the assistance of a mysterious traveling doctor, Ivan survived the brush with death, but not without receiving a collection of scars and a crippling fear of large birds. He has "locked away" his old life, and refuses to think about it, talk about it, or even acknowledge its existence.
