Physical Description:
He dressed in garb pleasing to the fashionable eye, yet fit for the life of a wanderer; clothes typically worn by those of higher society, yet each piece unique in that it may serve a certain situational necessity and purpose. This garb was colored in light greens, yellows, and gold, with dark midnight blues, creamy whites, and leathered browns scattered throughout. His hands were lashed with cloth from knuckle to wrist, further covered by slender vambraces and cuffs of Drykas Leather. This leaves exposed only his long slender, yet strong and dexterous, fingers, thumbs, wrists, and some of his forearms. His wrists and forearms were skinny yet toned and defined, attached to upper arms with firm triceps and shoulders. Draped over those shoulders was a long hooded cloak, draping well past his lower back. A left shoulder guard of Drykas Leather sits atop his cloak on that side. Underneath his essential garb was plain, yet of rich silks and linens, reinforced where need be. This is topped with a guarding chest piece of Drykas Leather as well. His belt capable of harboring whatever items or utensils he felt necessary. His ankles and sometimes lower calves were wrapped and boots or soft moccasin shoes were more often than not worn out of necessity for travel. Regardless of which were worn, his lower knees were covered in Drykas Leather Greaves. All his clothing and armor was trimmed and embroidered with delicate and precise patterns. The two items he carried most consistently with him were a small handmade knife of solid metal and a white oak engraved lute with works of ivory and strings, knobs, and plugs of gold he received from his mother. His shoulders were broad, at their centerpiece a long slender neck, the crowning jewel his head with all its intricacies, both inside and out. His hair was long, yet above shoulder length, with curls and waves intricately woven throughout its thick body. His eyebrows were thicker, and defined, yet despite this he lacked the ability to grow much facial hair, and typically kept clean shaven. His eyes were slender giving him a lazy appearance, yet could be opened wide. They are colored Hazel, a shattering mix of a light brown halo around his pupil and bright green shards all pointing outwards his black pupil. High cheekbones, a muscular and defined yet subtly shaped jaw, and light skin made him appear almost princely. His chest, solid from exercise and a harsh lifestyle led down to a narrow waist filled in between with a wide ribcage and centered by large solid abdominal muscles. The placement of his Windmark was small, lying on the center of, and crawling up, his lower back. The largest, most muscular part of his body were his legs, although by no means large, they showed definition, strength and power beneath his otherwise slender 5’10” 150lb frame.
Typical Garb & Lute
Character History:
Crystian’s past is mostly a mystery, even to himself. He was simply found one day at the tender age of 10 by a Drykas Pavilion of the Topaz Clan. About the only things he can remember from his distant childhood are flashes of imagery and the stories and songs his mother used to whisper to him in the Ancient Tongue. Either through repression of his own doing or some magical tampering Crystian has forgotten most of his childhood before he was found by the Drykas. The only clues to his past are that his first language was the Ancient Tongue, he recalls only select amounts of lore from Ancient times, and the intricate Lute he has that his mother used to play to him.
The night before Crystian was found it had been storming fiercely with Zulrav’s might sweeping the plains. He was all alone with only his mother’s lute for comfort. The prickling rain and piercing winds would have most likely killed the naked boy were it not for a lone passing Strider running through the storm. This Strider shielded Crystian from the winds and kept him warm with its own body heat all throughout the night. The next day when Crystian was found by a Pavilion of the Topaz Clan, the large Purebred Strider was seen vigilantly standing guard next to him, having chosen Crystian. The Ankal of the Pavilion took this as an omen that Crystian was destined to be Drykas, and adopted him as part of his Pavilion.
Having already been chosen by a Strider, Crystian was given his Windmark at the young age of 12 after learning the basic customs of the Drykas people and initially finding his place as a Webber amongst them. However, the more astute Mystics among his Pavilion picked up on his deeper connection to the Ancient world and higher natural reserves of Djed. Deciding instead that his talents would best be put to use as a Loremaster and Keeper of Ancient Knowledge they taught him the ways of various Personal and World Magics. After a while they began to rely on him to accumulate more knowledge about the Ancient Drykas through his own unique and innate connection to the Ancient world so that it could be shared as part of their history, laws, and philosophies.
While much still is unknown about his past, perhaps by virtue of his own Ancient nature he was meant to fit within the bloodlines of the Drykas who are an ancient and survived race themselves.
