Hesitation was death when dancing with such fiendish beasts as these. Shouta knew his, and Kassan’s, life depended on the fluidity of his strike. Death must be had here. He charged forward, chain slipping through his fingers like a stream over rock. His kama blade caught the moonlight as it dove towards the earth and Shouta extended his arm, honing in on the scaled thing. The kama almost hit the cobbled street before swooping back into the air and across the distance between predator and prey. It latched into the creature’s neck with easy, despite the scaled armor. Shouta pulled hard, trying to unbalance the swine. It growled in anger and he looked at Kassan for aid, feeling the fear rise inside him. The canine had taken a beating, but was it enough. Instead of charging the farther monk, the thing tried to lash out at Kassan viciously. The Ethaefal was able to keep it at bay with the blade still sprouting out of it’s neck. “Kill it!” He breathed desperately. |
