Day 84 Winter 512

Jason looked down at Grazer from his perch in the branch, he smiled then whistled, Grazer pricked his ears and looked up. "Stay here." Grazer snorted and continued to sniff the snow, Jason buttoned his jacket and slipped his bow and quiver onto his back. Standing and carefully balancing himself, he ran down the branch he was in and launched himself towards another tree, grabbing a protruding limb he swung onto another branch and continued to run. He was searching for some deer or other wildlife that he could make a meal off of. He had been in Avanthral for about a month now, gathering supplies so he could continue on his journey. It was taking a bit longer than usual due to the fact that animals didn't really live in cold places, those that did were usually hard to find. He paused on a branch catching his breath and looking for a route to travel on Deciding upon one he took a step as he prepared to run, as he walked though he stepped onto a hidden ice patch and slipped out of the tree, as he fell he toppled over branches and finally hit the ground with a loud thud. The breath he had in his lungs left with a whoosh and he lied there trying to catch his breath, still short on breath he stumbled to his feet and looked up from where he fell.

"That hurt a bit.' he mumbled sarcastically, he sorely pulled his bow off of his back and examined it, nothing seemed broke, not even his arrows, which he was incredibly thankful for, as he looked the bow up and down a gust of wind blew, causing his hair to go into his eyes, which he brushed out annoyed

Adapting to the area

Aira spied on the strange boy from on top of a tree. She had never seen him before, not in this part of the land. He tripped on an ice path, and she giggled silently. All newcomers do that. He got back up and
Aira debated whether or not to come down and greet him. He had a weapon, that could be dangerous. Her silver aura sometimes shocked people into shooting her. Luckily, she was good at dodging. She descended a few branches gracefully and adjusted the silver circlet on her head.
"Hello. Where do you come from?"

Jason jumped a bit and spun around knocking an arrow and dropping his quiver on the ground, realizing who he was aiming at, he instantly pointed the bow down and slowly released his draw on the bow so he didn't shoot it. When he finally formed a thought in his head he rapidly shook it.

"Oh, i'm from Sylira." he said smiling a bit, then he remembered Grazer, sticking his fingers in his mouth he drew a breath and whistled loudly. After he stopped he turned back to the female.

"Um, who are you? And where did you come from?" he asked curiously, as he finished his sentence he looked up at the sky then back at the woman.

Adapting to the area

"I'm Aira, I live here, away from the rest of my kind... I'm not like them. I enjoy it here, in the forest. I've been here for seventy years. You see..."
Aira gracefully hopped down from the white branch she was perched on and her pale, somehow clean bare feet landed lightly on the forest floor.
"I've been cursed. I don't age. I guard this area of the forest. I help the newcomers... Only those with whom I find favor..."
Aira fingered her silver dagger's handle, its blade was safely in its sheath, which was hidden by the folds over her flowing white cloak. She eyed him steadily, with unexpected harshness. Her pale, thin hands fingered the hood of her cloak and she lifted the translucent white material over her head. What used to be webbed fingers now looked fairly normal, another part of the curse, to make her Konti parts slowly disappear. The webs looked as if they had been slashed, painfully, by a sword. The iridescent scales were faded on only the front of her feet, and one thin one that resembled a layer of Mica flaked off and fluttered slowly to the ground.
Aira stared at the dead scale, then at Jason. Her silver eyes bore into his for a second and then she paused.
"You have found favor with me. Know, form this point forward I will help you in this part of Avanthral. Should you venture out, I might possibly follow..."
She scratched her hand and stared at the ground.
"It's been seventy long years since I've left. I could use a breath of... Fresh air."
