Name: Lupa Voleur

Physical Description

Image

Lupa is 5”8 in height and has a slight build, nothing about her figure very feminine. She has a fair skin tone and paints her lips black. Her hair is wild, waves down her back and is steel gray. Her eyes are slender, lined with charcoal and although they seem gray in darker places, when seen in the light, they are a golden colour. She also possesses jagged fangs and her fingernails are styled so that they come to a sharp point. Her attire consists of a black blouse, (the sleeves ripped off) black breeches and white knee high boots. When in public, she is almost never seen without her gray hooded cloak.

When transformed, she is a timber wolf, also known as a gray wolf. Some who have spotted her roaming around at night swear her fur is silver.

Character Concept

Despite all the hardships she has been through, Lupa is always smiling. She is an eccentric, vivacious girl who acts like she doesn’t have a care in the world. Her attitude of the world around her borders on lazy. She is loud and childish at times and this has been known to aggravate older and sterner people. Lupa doesn’t care and actually has come to find the anger that she sets off in people amusing. Lupa can also be quite flirtacious with younger men, but sometimes her interest doesn't last for very long if they are boring, have no sense of humour and even less sense of adventure. She has a sharp nose, like anyone would expect of a wolf Kelvic. But her nose is seemingly built to track adventure and danger. Lupa loves nothing more than to run straight into treacherous situations, her curious nature always getting the better of her.

Lupa has turned to a life of crime and she believes she has the perfect perception of what a “dog eat dog world” is. She has no repsect for authority and likes to do whatever she wants whenever she pleases. She tends not to trust anyone very easily and will lie to them about her indentity, should any questions about her past arise. She can be extremely cautious when around older people (men, mostly), even becoming paranoid at times, believing they are out to hurt her. This is most likely due to the way her Master in Ravok treated her.

Under all that though, Lupa is strong-minded, fierce and becomes extremely loyal and protective of everyone close to her. This is mostly because she finds it hard to make any real friends, due to her loud and irritating nature. When she does happen to connect with someone, she is willing to risk her life protecting them from any danger. It is her animalistic instinct to do so. They become a part of her pack, her family. Something she has always wanted to be a part of.

Lupa doesn’t look it, but she is a very deep thinker. Not having a proper education like a majority of Kelvics, she isn’t exactly intelligent in an academic sense. She makes up for it though with her tactical planning and military style attitude to most under pressure situations.

Character History

Abandoned at birth in the city of Syliras, Lupa had no idea of her race at the time. She was taken in by a wandering traveller named Leon Voleur. Leon took her in out of pity and a deep sadness in his heart. His wife and young daughter were killed years before and seeing a child just being deserted like that filled him with anger. He wasn’t sure what to name the baby girl until he saw her peculiar gray hair, which in the moonlight seemed silver. The colour reminded him of a beautiful wild wolf he had come across in his travels and he decided to name his new daughter “Lupa”.

Lupa grew up in different environments due to her travelling so much, but the places she loved the most were the loud, over-crowded market places. The excitement, the buzz of the people and that tingle of danger you couldn’t shake. All of that made Lupa incredibly energetic and enthusiastic. In the market places, she had picked up every scam and con in the book and helped her father sell his merchandise. Although Leon was always a humble man and did not approve very much of his daughters methods, he loved her with all his heart and was even a little relieved that he always had enough money to provide for himself and Lupa.

Then Lupa noticed changes in her. She noticed her incisors were getting sharper and even cut her finger while inspecting them. She realised that while she ran around familiar places, she couldn’t help picking up different smells. Smells she never noticed before. She even realised that she could run greater distances without breaking a sweat. She had heard that bodies went through certain changes as you grow older and simply thought that was what was happening with her. But Leon had observed these changes as well and he knew the truth. Her speed, her new and improved sense of smell, the fangs she had developed, her strange golden eyes and how fast she aged! After only a couple of months she had grown tremendously. The truth was clear. Lupa was a Kelvic. He wasn’t going to hide this from her. She deserved to know the truth. That’s exactly what he did. He told her that the things that had changed in her were signs that she was a Kelvic. He explained to her what a Kelvic was and he made sure to stress that didn’t change anything and that she would always be his daughter. Much to Leon’s surprise, Lupa became extremely excited. She was different. She was unique and special. That is how she felt. Leon was relieved that she wasn’t scared, but he didn’t want to tell her the hardships that Kelvics face. The way that most of them are outcasts and many of them were lonely.

Lupa and Leon kept on travelling like normal. They still made a good profit and were very happy. Early in the morning, Leon decided they should get a head start into the next city. On their way there, they were attacked by thieves and Lupa was held at knife point. Leon pleaded that they spare her and take his life instead. They looked between her and her father. The time seemed to slow down. It all seemed to rush back and hit Lupa in the stomach as they drove a dagger through her father’s heart. Her piercing scream filled the morning sky and her inner animal was unleashed. This was the first time she transformed. In her new wolf body, she attacked the thieves, fatally injuring three of them. At this time, Lupa was weak and she was forced to revert back to her human body quickly. The thieves of course tied her up and took her with them in order to make a nice profit out of her.

Lupa was sold as a slave to a wealthy man in Ravok. He was cruel to her and treated her like a dog he had been burdened with. Although she was unhappy, Lupa had no choice but to serve him. It was in her nature to be loyal. She served this unkind master until she had had enough. She was tired and angry. She missed the old days. She missed her father. She hated that she only times she would venture outside were to shop for necessities. So, she ran away, before the loyal and serving part of her had a chance to stop her.

So the hardships of the Kelvic that Leon did not want to tell his daughter came upon her. She had become nothing more than a pet to a man, a slave. She was now just a wanderer, an outcast. She was alone. Like many Kelvics, she now has one goal to keep her going. A quest, if you will. She simply wants to be loved again. She wants have a family. She covers that hidden desire with yet another one. A desire for adventure, danger. She has started her life a life of crime. She steals (only from the rich, who she has grown a deep hatred for) and then sells what she has for a much higher price than it probably is. Sometimes she is riddled with the fear that her father Leon would be disgusted with her.

Despite all her fear and guilt, she still wears a huge grin for each coming day. She wants to be brave. She needs to be brave to survive. It’s a dog eat dog world. Lupa knows that too well.
