While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Ezra shook his head "No big deal, I'm just easily on guard, that's all." He watched the weasel? yeah lets go with that, scurry back off into the bag and he sighed "it's okay, I get that a lot from small animals."
He looked up from his ring and into the eyes of Kayle when he questions about it. He hadn't even realized he was messing with it. Bad habits are hard to lose. Ezra dropped his hands into his lap and took a deep breath before answering the question in a tone much softer than he had been using before hand "It's a family ring, it was my fathers."
He mentally kicked himself for the change in tone but didn't let it show on his face as he let some of his stony facade slide back into place. He hated the memories the ring brought him but he couldn't bring himself to get rid of it. It want his fathers fault what happened.

“Your father’s you say…?” Kayle said. his mood dropped slightly.

Kayle never knew his father. He died when Kayle and Yarich, his twin brother, was in their mother’s womb. Kayle has never seen what his father looked like because there were no paintings of him. However, his mother said that Yarich physically resembled him more than Kayle. Kayle could feel his beating, but he tried to keep his spirits up.

“So… Did you like your father?” Kayle asked.

Kayle saw Ezra’s expression and he knew he might have made a mistake for asking such a personal question. All he could do was smile and wait.

Ezra's breath caught in his throat but he decided a while ago that it was about time to get the story of his chest. It had been 12 years and he had never spoken a word of what happened to anyone and keeping it bottled in was just making it worse. He took another deep breath and began his story. "Yes, I liked my father very much, though i can only remember bits and pieces of what he was like same with my mother." Ezra looked down fiddling with the ring again but not caring.
"we were traveling through Cyphrus when a group of Zith surrounded the caravan. My mother hid me but couldn't hide my sister in time."
Ezra paused and gather his bearing before continuing "I had to watch quietly as my parents were ruthlessly murdered and they took my sister in as a slave. I have been looking for her ever since."
Ezra looked up at Kayle a rueful smile gracing his pale lips.
"what about you? family?"

Kayle listen to the story of Ezra. He felt sad listening to it, but yet, again he did his best to keep his spirit up. In turn Ezra asked Kayle about his family. Kayle smiled and looked at the sky thinking of his parents. He began to speak as he look back at Ezra.

“Yeah, I had a family.” Kayle said, heaving a sigh.
“You know about my father, passed when I wasn’t born. I had a mother, she passed about 6 years ago…” he continued.

He thought about his mother’s smile and how it warmed him, but then he remembers his brother. The memories of him boiled within his mind, he felt the anguish of just thinking about him. For his own sake he didn’t mention his brother.

“I also have an old friend who was treated as family, but she’s long gone… Somewhere in Mizahar I mean.” Kayle said
“But right now… Ren here is my only family” he said in a happy tone that contrasted with this previous one.

He smiled at Ezra, as is he removed a slight burden within himself. Kayle pulls out his flute, which he keeps attached on his back with string and looks at Ezra for permission to play, in hope he can calm Ren down.

Ezra send Kayle a small nod allowing him to play the flute. Music always had a calming effect on him. He closed his eyes gently waiting for the flow of music to hit his ears. It wasn't everyday that he got to listen to a flute without the noise of the city overlapping it. Maybe he will try and learn an instrument. Ezra mentally chuckled at the image of him failing horribly at playing an instrument. He wasn't musically inept and didn't want to find out the results of his attempt. For now he can stick with just listening .

With Ezra’s permission, Kayle began to play his flute. He wiggled his fingers placing them over different hole on the flute. As he blew into the flute, the cords used created a smooth flowing sound that wasn’t a particular song. He continues to move his fingers, avoiding the small button hinger the flute near the mouth. The flute also doubled as a weapon in a dire situation, shooting small needles coated with poison. However, in this situation it was only a flute, not a weapon.

The music from the flute was basic, only using a few cords that he was taught by a girl he use to know. Despite the quality though, it did the trick and Ren’s head pop of the bag, blanket over head. She made a clucking noise before she jumped on to Kayle's shoulder and climbed a up on Kayle’s head.

“Well that worked, hehe!” Kayle laughed with a ferret lying on his head.

Ezra sighs as the music reached his ears letting it flow through him and soothing all his tensed muscles. The tone of the music wasn't anything fancy but it was enough to lighten the mood.
He looked up when the music stopped noting the ferret once again on Kayle's head.
Ezra watched it sniff the air and look towards the forest but paid no mind to it assuming it was a normal animal thing.
Ezra leaned back on his hands once more holding his weight up and turned back to the boy "So do you live in the city? or are you a traveler?"

Cloud gazing

Postby Amon Fade on February 15th, 2013, 11:47 pm

As Amon is about to pounce on a small bird, flute music begins to waft through the air and startles the bird, making it fly away. Slightly annoyed by this but more so curious Amon stays in his fox form and approaches stealthily.

After arriving at what appears to be a small clearing Amon sees an eastern looking human playing a flute, not with great skill but producing nice music. From his position he can only see the leg of another human like being lying in the grass. Entranced he lies down and watches.

“heheh, I guess you could call me a traveller.” Kayle laughed.
“What about you? A traveller as well?” he added, gesturing for the ferret to come down.

After Ren jumped down from Kayle's head into his arms, she raises her head and began sniffing the air. She began to fight as if she was communicating with Kayle. She wiggled and gave a bark, and Kayle looked around.

“You know, we are all friendly here” he said with his usual smile.
“Ren knows you’re out there. She has a keen sense of smell you know.” He added

OOC INFOI have permission from Paragon to continue

Amon pauses uncertainly after realising he's been caught out, as he stands unsure of what to do the strangers voice calls out again “You know, we are all friendly here” That made up his mind, Amon dashed to his bag which was nearby, and changed into his human form. He quickly got dressed and grabbed his equipment and headed back to the clearing.

Pausing just outside the clearing, just out of sight Amon hesitates, wondering if it would just be easier to walk away and not be confronted. These thoughts are soon dispelled from his head though and he walks into the clearing somewhat sheepishly. He stands there awkwardly for a minute before sitting down "You play well, have you been at it long? "
