Roxanne "Roxa" Kinasa Bio Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 26 Birthday: 38, Spring, 487 AV Birthplace: Lhavit Current Location: The Spires Height: 5'10" Weight:137lbs Appearance: Long brunette frames a slender face, accented by deep brown eyes. Her complexion is kissed by Syna's rays, slightly darkened and blemish free. With a tall, lithe build, Roxa boasts no jaw dropping curves, but with tantalizing lips, smooth skin, and a heart stopping smile, some might call her beautifullike every other woman in Mizahar . Not one to get too caught up on her looks, though, it's not uncommon for her to be covered in filth from head to toe, due to explorations into caves, jungles, or whatever she can find. She can usually be found wearing simple, but comfortable clothing. Her constant explorations into the area around the Spires demands utility and functionality over looks, so she tossed aside the lavish outfits she once wore. Worn pants and blouse, colors faded far from their original hue are the norm. She wears sandals whenever she's able, but will put boots on if conditions call for it. Character Concept Thanks to the beautiful influences of Lhavit, Roxa is enamored with the pursuit of knowledge, music, theater, and really any sort of fine art. Singing is her passion, but for her to call it her only one would be a lie. Thanks to the stories of travelers and adventurers, a thirst for conquests of her own was born. Much in part because of her mostly sheltered upbringing, she has a foolish sense of bravery crafted from innocence and naivety. While she isn't one to dive in without thinking, it's by no means unheard of. Emotional, compassionate, and driven, Roxa believes that with enough effort and study anyone can accomplish anything, and rarely will she accept someone saying 'no' or 'I can't do it'. In friendships and relationships she maintains complete honesty, even when the truth may cause harm to those involved. "It's better to be hurt now by a truth than to be hurt later by a lie." Roxa is quick to judge whether she thinks she'll like someone or not, and can be stubborn when it comes to changing her mind, for better or worse. Roxanne is just as direct in physical and romantic relationships, not wanting to waste time with courting, seduction, or foreplay. If there's a mutual interest, she'll act on it. She isn't looking for love, but wouldn't stop it from happening, no matter who it is coming from. Her bluntness can rub shyer or more sensitive people the wrong way, but she rarely has any maliciousness behind her actions. In general Roxa is a good person, who wants to thrive in whatever she does, but almost as important is for her to try and motivate those around her to do their best, even if she oftentimes causes more harm than help. Character History From the moment she was born into the world, music had been a part of her life. Her father, Leon Kinasa, is a musical composer, and her mother, Kaurie Kinasa, plays violin with a fair amount of skill. Loving, supportive, and dedicated, her parents nurtured her and protected her from the dangers lurking outside Lhavit. Her childhood was unremarkable by any standards as her parents used tales of vicous Zith and Symenstra to keep the young girl at bay, but as she aged words which once brought fear began to be nothing more than a challenge. From a relatively young age Roxy, to no one's surprise, showed musical talent. With both parents employed at The Ethereal Opera House, it was almost expected that their only daughter might inherit their aptitude for that particular fine art. As she bloomed into a full grown woman, so did the child's sweet voice change to that of a powerful soprano. Daily lessons and exercises from her mother, father, and other musicians at the opera house led to the high point of her career: Understudy to the lead female role. Now twenty years old, Roxa had performed many a time on stage in lesser roles, but she sat there for an entire performance season waiting for a shot that never came. The lead soprano never found herself ill or unable to make a performance, and so Roxa did practice, ready to step into in a spotlight not meant for her. She fell into a bit of a funk after the show's run ended, feeling unaccomplished, though everyone would say she was simply exaggerating the situation, as a twenty one year old performer in her situation would be all measures be considered doing well. Roxa, of course, would hear none of it, and while particularly down (and maybe completely a little drunk), she entered into conversation with a group of explorer, adventurer, archaeologist, types. Not that the young songstress could really remember what they claimed to be. Feeling impulsive and inebriated, the promising singer instead collected what money she'd earned at the opera house and left with the group of adventurers. While she was little more than a burden on the group, there were few complaints from the men, for a pretty girl with a pretty voice was at least entertaining on long trips in the wilderness. She stuck with the group for three years, travelling around the coast of Kalea and Taldera, occasionally venturing into mountainous terrains to search for ruins and dive into caves hoping to find long lost treasures. For the most part they were unsuccessful, nothing worth any serious gold, barely coming up with enough money to scrap by season after season. Tensions built within the group, infighting eventually leading to the team going their separate ways in Spring of 510 AV. In Avanthal at the time, Roxa did what she could in the city for a couple of seasons before heading to The Spires where she found a never ending fount of knowledge which convinced her to take up residence, learn, and search for secrets known to the Jamoura and the ground below.
