Taloba, home to the Myrians, is the thriving core of Falyndar. Inhabited by a fierce and savage tribe where blood sacrifices are normal and a way of life, they are untamed and proud of it. Warlike, and with their numbers growing, the Myrians are set on reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. [Lore]

The Storyteller’s Rest is another location found within Taloba where peaceful socialization can be found, though ribald jests and outright mockery is often found within its domain. Still, when one merely wishes to sit and listen to the stories of old the unwritten rule is that rivalries are left far in the back of the mind. The Rest is a location for celebrating the greatness of all Myrian’s, not for petty vendetta’s. If the occasional scuffle does break out it is swiftly dealt with ,and the perpetrators given cruel and unusual punishment for their offenses.

The Rest can be found upon the regimented streets of Taloba, to the west of the Plaza, connected by a short but wide paved street that can be travelled across within a small number of chimes. In reality it is a giant square, and expanse of space that has been filled with a number of items over the years. One hundred feet across in all directions it is in the shape of a perfect square – a pattern common throughout Taloba. It is surrounded by a number of structures, both used and currently disused.

Statues of past glories and forgotten warriors line its expanse at intermittent distances – a testament to the Myrians craftsmanship and creativity in years gone by. Sadly there have been no recent additions despite the number of warriors seeking fame and glory for such an honour. Some say that the souls of those immortalized in tone can still hear the tales of their exploits through the ages, though their true names and deeds may now be long forgotten or embellished.

Within the Rest can be found more than silent statues, however. Between the statues can be found beautifully cultivated jungle flora, twining around and through the rough wooden trellises constructed for just such a purpose of display. It stands as a constant reminder that the Myrian’s live within, and are defined by, the jungles around them – and have been since their beginnings. In its centre is a converted structure with wooden stall additions, their purpose to sell food and drink to those whom flock to the location. Dozens of hardy wooden tables and benches surround it, their scattering almost random to the untrained eye.

However, the reasons for their distances from each other are well founded. Each table is there for the telling of stories, the enjoyment of Myrian culture at its most exaggerated. Whether the tales are told by the visitors, or by the resident tale weavers of the Rest, each is far enough away from the others that their noises will not overlap. Here can be found the most transient and ancient of Myrian mythology, histories and warped fact – all by the passing down of their oral tradition.
