Dragul made his way through the streets of Avanthal. Each footprint marking the snow, and leaving behind a trail that anyone could follow, until the trail was lost to the shift wind and snow. Time etched on slowly, and the cold sought ever more ways through the layers of his clothing. The thought of freezing to death at this point only made him laugh, because where the average person would start to turn blue from prolonged exposure to the cold, he would not, being blue already. It was something that he couldn't help but find utterly hilarious.

After a short while, through the chilled afternoon of Taldera, he found himself making his way through a throng of trees. Beyond this, he had been told, was where the Stadium-or the Tundra as he had heard it called-was located. Finally passing the throng of wood, he found himself starring at a rather large structure, and one that did not totally fit in comparison to the architecture of Avanthal. It was still, none the less, impressive.

As he made his way to the entrance, he found himself passing a long line of statues wrought from ice. Each one depicted a unique individual, and he imagined that they were famous individuals, or figures of legend. Each one was beautifully crafted, with a skill like none other that he'd ever seen. Continuing onward, he noticed one thing more prominently utilized here, that was missing in other places around Avanthal; metal.

Upon entering the Tundra at long last, he found himself yet again, in awe of the architecture. Noting the two sections of the Tundra, he quickly found the more or less "gym" and made his way down. He noticed other individuals training with weapons, lifting weights, and practicing other physical regiments. He had decided to start out with some simple calisthenics.

He removed his cloak which would only hinder him in the process of his bodybuilding. He then found an unoccupied section of the gym floor, and began to do a repetition of push-ups. An interval of 15 push-ups, followed by a 30 second break. He continued this process for a total of 4 intervals, so that he did roughly 60 push-ups. Afterwards he found a weight and putting it over his feet, did a similar series sit-ups. The same process ensued until he had finished the same amount of sit-ups. Then he repeated this until he had done a total of 120 push-ups and 120 sit-ups. His warm-up was done.

Tiny beads pf sweat managed to produce themselves from his forehead. The cold made each drop keep him warm. However it was still to cold to shed clothing. He kept an eye on his cloak, so that no one had the opportunity to steal it, or his precious Lakans. Doing a quick cycle of simple stretches, he searched the gym for a pull-up bar. After finding one, he gripped the cold bar, and began to repetitions of 10 pull-ups, followed by a 1 minute break. As he did his pull-ups he watched as a woman made her way into the stadium's gym section, she was rather beautiful. He wondered which hold she belonged to. He quickly ran through the names of the various holds that Svasra had informed him of.

Thinking of Svasra he wondered what she was doing at the moment, as close as they were to departure. He had not seen a shadow in the area of his training, which saddened him, for this was the one activity he performed that he did not mind the shadows watching, and whispering of.

[Tundra Training Stadium] Frozen Fitness

Postby Miria on March 21st, 2013, 2:27 pm

A small treat helped Miria cope with the problems that seemed to bother so the archer found herself quietly enjoying some flavored snow. Enjoying her treat perhaps a bit too much Miria found herself happily giggling to herself as she finished the tasty snack. Beaming happily the archer found herself wandering the town without a care in the world. With Morwen finally coming back Miria silently hoped that things would go back to normal. That would be a sight. My Avanthal finally back to normal. Glancing to her left the Coolwater finally got her bearings finding herself near the Icewatch barracks. Clinging to her cloak Miria watched the traffic of polar bears and their riders enter and exit out of the area.

Though Miria had mixed feelings about the Icewatch the loving vantha could not help be envious of the bond between the riders and the bears. The strong connections between others usually made Miria happy but this particular relationship occasionally made caused a flair of annoyance. Her eyes once a serene golden started to turn shades darker until that golden shade was similar to that of a tangerine. “Where are you heading there buddy?” Miria listened in closely to what the rider said to the other guard. “The stadium probably. Place is finally fixed so I was thinking I'll take the old girl along and see what we have been missing.”

The stadium? This Coolwater was unfamiliar with the area that the stadium was in. Probably since it was so close to the Icewatch barracks that Miria chanced upon much like today. Miria had no qualms with the Icewatch even with them 'drafting' her husband but if she had to be honest the Coolwater was not too keen on the idea of others relying on her. The archer recalled the spirit of one of the Icewatch that she met during the spring. Sliver was it? They both dealt with the rogue elements yet the guard did not bat an eye that entire time as if that was a regular occurrence. Miria was not sure if she was able to fill that role as well as the badger kelvic. That wasn't even a regular Icewatch kelvic and Sliver carried herself proudly. Such pride. I can't match that.

In any case Miria trailed the Icewatch pair heading for the stadium preparing herself for her first time at the spot. Over a snow mound and after a small winding turns through the fresh snow hills of the morning and the archer could not believe her eyes at the structure that awaited them. Metal, ice and snow all meshed together made gave Miria a feeling not normally associated with Vantha culture. The Coolwater felt intimidated seeing the cold steel of the stadium. The archer knew she was not alone in this sentiment as rider and kelvic alike hurried inside of the facility. This proved to might proved to be an exciting afternoon.

Training equipment and practice dummies strewed part of the stadium to which Miria gave a solemn disapproving look. The circles in the range were turned into human sized targets and Icewatch members were instructing how to defeat them. The huntress knew that even with the life sized replacement shooting a real breathing person required a different type of training. Miria knew if she were to unslung her bow right now and restring the bended wood she would hesitate before letting go of the string. Hunting and fighting were two different beasts entirely. Part of the hunter wished that the members focused on how to prepare to fight perhaps vicious animals instead but part of her understood why those training dummies were set up for. “You know you can always tell when it is someone's first time here at the training stadium.”

A pair of unassuming eyes greeted Miria while the huntress timidly stepped into the stadium. Following her gaze the woman's eyes flickered with a hint of menace before smiling sweetly at Miria. “Not like your regular targets in the range eh archer?” Miria mirrored the smiled as she tried to gauge this new individual. “Yes. Quite different.” There was no way the woman knew what was going her mind while staring at the targets. Dismissing the flash of menace Miria thought she saw the archer proceeded to exchange pleasantries with the fellow vantha. "I suppose they are necessary if your training an Icewatch member." "It gets easier after the first few times."

Hesitating slightly Miria was slightly put-off by the answer as her face grew slightly agitated. "Good thing I'm not an Icewatch member right?" "Don't sell yourself short we can use someone like me." "Not in the way you would think. Someone like me sees things differently." Miria gave a disillusioned look at the stadium recruiter until her aggressor finally relented. Right... I forgot why I avoided this place. It's employees always trying to talk people up to join the Icewatch.

"Right I can do some running to get started. But not before stretching..." The archer looked back at the targets critically as her mind drifted to practicing some shooting. Maybe I'll warm up to the idea later. Starting to unload whatever was hanging on her persons Miria placed her backpack aside before freeing her gladius from her waistband. "*Hmm* Perhaps one of the boys can teach me how to handle this thing." Shrugging at the thought Miria slowly dropped her weapon before warming up the archer's eyes were a calm black as she sat on stadium floor. Miria's hands joined together before the vantha stretched them together away from her body. She could feel the slight strain on her arms as she raised her hands upward to the ceiling. Pushing her body forward with the motion Miria mimicked a move that she once saw watching a man finish his meditations. Miria's upper body felt inflamed from the reinvigorating stretch before slowly making a sweeping motion down to finish the her warm up. "Much better"
