Orkis Strongwind Appearance Race: Dykas Gender: Male Age: 20 Birthday: 7th Winter 491 AV Birthplace: Endrykas Appearance: Orkis is a typical Drykas, tall (6ft), broad at the shoulder with strong lean muscle sculpturing his body. He has black windmarks in a tribal pattern up his right arm and up onto his shoulder. He kept his black hair short and well kept, leaving no hair to get into his pale blue eyes, which some claimed saw right through you. Character Concept Orkis is a natural warrior, being born into the diamond clan he was taught to fight and defend himself at a young age, and excelled with the use of the long sword, bow and his fathers favored weapon the lSnake spear. He despises Zith after his parents deaths and uses any opportunity to hunt them and kill them. He is loyal to Zulrav, his father used to take him out in storms and contemplate their power and beauty with him. If their is ever a great storm around Endrykas you can usually find him there. He is hard to befriend, but once he has given his friendship he is fiercely loyal and will defend that friend to the last. Genosis Orkis is a Stormwarden he has Swirling hurricane mark on his back, the bottom going from blue to silver. When a breeze hits it it seems to swirl on his back. Character History Orkis Strongwind was born on 7th Winter 491 AV to Kilras Strongwind of the Strongwind pavilion. His mother was Angelica Blossom and wife to his father. The Strongwind pavilion was noted as being small, only consiting of Kilras, Angelica and Orkis, however there fighting prowess was well known, and on many occasions called and relied upon. Orkis had a good upbringing, his father and mother teaching him to fight as soon as he could walk. Orkis was completely devoted to his parents and was determined to do his father proud and become the warrior he wished him to be. His Strider Randelas came to him at the age of 13 when he got seperated from his parents in the Sea of Grass, and was just about to be killed by a glassbeak when Rendelas came storming in, frightening the creature and giving the frightened Orkis chance to scramble up onto her back. From that day on both horse and boy formed a inseparable bond and not a day went by when Orkis would not ride her. Sadly at the age of 18, not long after being righted as a man, Orkis' parents were killed by a Zith raiding party when they were out hunting. Orkis blames himself for the deaths of his parents as he should have been hunting with them that day, but fell ill to a feaver. From that day on Orkis has spent most of his times away in the Sea of Grass and as such let the pavilion fall into disuse. He now stays near the outskirts of Endrykas, in his own small tent, scarping a living through his not great hunting skills, throwing himself into any fights with wanton abandon. Randelas Rendelas is Orkis' Strider. He stands 17 hands and weighs 600kilos. He has a warm temperament and a fondness for nuts. He is 10 years old, and both Orkis and Rendelas are highly in synch with each other. A yvas is what equates to a girth with an attached breast collar combination hung with hooks and topped with a small flat hand grip that lays along a horse's shoulders. The Yvas is often placed over a colorful pad that acts to protect the horse from the rider. The grip fits over a strider's withers which holds the yvas in place. It almost looks like the type of thing vaulters used on their draft horses, though it is more functional than a vaulter's pad. The horses can free themselves from them if they got separated from their riders, and do not have tack to entrap or tangle them when they are running loose. The yvas has ring tethers on it for handling a set of wither bags and a waterskin, and is often decorated in knot-work beading that identified the horse and rider as part of a specific pavilion. Drykas ride without any headgear or bridles on their horses at all. They do not use any halters either.
