Abyda Moktilla

Appearance
Race: Mixed Blood
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Birthday: 8 spring 498
Birthplace: Xy

Appearance: Tall, slim with bronze skin and dark eyes. Her hair is thick and full, a cascade of black curls down to her thighs, though covered with a loose black shawl. She is fragile and not as strong as she'd like, with old scars and ancient wounds wound around her neck and arms, her back and torso, and elongated gashes drawn out on her legs. Abyda's body is decorated with cuts and is usually hidden with baggy black shirts and a worn black cloak she is almost never seen without. Abyda's hearing and night vision is better than other humans due to the Zith blood in her, yet she chooses to deny she has any Zith characteristics.

Character Concept

Abyda is sly and clever, knows exactly how to manipulate people into doing her bidding; yet despite that she has been known to once in a while ever so slightly allow her good side to see the light of day. Ever since her and her mother's arrival at Avanthal Abyda has tried to gain as much knowledge about the city in which she found salvation, even resorting to thievery of certain scrolls and books. She will do what she must to protect her mother, and combining that with an unknowingly hidden killer instinct, she has developed layers over her heart and refused to care or feel any 'love' or emotions for anyone, claiming love is the grandest facade and clouds primal instincts. She has a moral sense of right and wrong, yet believes strongly in violence. Abyda always has with her a silver amulet from her mother. She has a burning hatred for her unknown father.

Abyda vows never to return to the state of inferiority thrust upon her in Cyphrus, and for that her demeanour can often come across as snarky and rude, but that is because she chooses not to socialise with others. When she does, she is wary, for trust is a major issue with Abyda, almost non existent. She feels as if she must prove her strength to others, beause all they ever seem to see is the scarred, broken girl, so young fragile, amongst the few things she despises about herself.
Hidden somewhere deep within her padlocked heart, Abyda craves love and adoration, but understands they are unattainable and convinces herself she doesn't need them, so she shuts off her emotions, the precise reason she is so well skilled at seclusion and snarky wit.

Character History
Abyda, has suffered a painful and tragic past. Her mother, whilst still young, was captured by a Zith slave trader and sold to a rogue Zith, who presented her to his half-Zith son as a rite of passage of some sorts, however the unexpected happened. The son fell in love with the human slave and, though his nature is animalistic and cruel, he loved her. She reciprocated his love, for she brought out a humane side to him his father denied existed, but could not handle his erratic mood swings that usually resulted in severe beatings or forced 'love', but beared it, for she had nowhere to go. It wasn't until much later that she discovered she was carrying the child of the half-Zith. She gave birth to her daughter in secret with the help of her fellow slaves and in the safety of a new lenient master.
~~~~~~~~~~
From the day she was born, Abyda has always been a slave, a lesser being, an inferior one, enduring beating after beating and the nastiness of men, until one day, ten years on, her mother decided no more. Abyda and her mother, Layali, fled. Their journey was a long and arduous one, and along the way Abyda allowed her pain to become her past, embracing a new way of life, void of terror and imminent hurt, she even began to develop a confidence and thirst for knowledge, learning the common tongue which she used to communicate with strangers and...'negotiate' with them, determined to survive and contiue on. Eventaully, they resided amongst the welcoming people of Avanthal where they found sanctuary and began a new life.
