Brossk Snowsong

Postby Brossk on March 27th, 2013, 6:46 am

As a sidenote, I am working with a very poor excuse of a mobile phone, so most of this is going to be segmented...

-Name:
Brossk Snowsong

Height: 6' 2"

Eye Color: Deep/Dark Blue (because of mixed blood, his eyes don't change color)

- Race
Vantha/multi-mixed human (a bit of all human, but all watered down)

- Birthdate
12, Spring, 479

- Age
35

Birthplace: Unknown, orphaned many times

-Gender:
Male

-Languages:

Common (Fluently)
Vani (Basic)
Dhani (Poorly) (basically only cat calls)

-Physical Description:

Brossk much resembles a homeless vagrant, and is just that. An unkemp beard with scruffy facial hair and shoulder length dark hair often covered in filth. Mud often cakes his face and other exposed appendages. A stocky, but muscular build covered in small scars from previous scraps and fights. His linens are torn and is missing almost all of his shirt's left side with the color of the ground he calls home at that moment. He often wears a hooded robe that doubles as his blanket with a faded dark blue color. A kilt covers his lower half and lost his sandals long ago. His looped rope he wears across his chest and back is adorned with only a few small bags and a single water skin, the other loops are occupied by bottles of wines and liquors. His face is rugged, but clean if scars. He has a hard look in his dark blue eyes that tell of violent torrents of memory and emotion that lie deep in his proverbial ocean. He carries a worn long sword openly to announce that he is a sword for hire.

-Character Concept

-Personality:

Often, Brossk is nonchalant with a contradictory uneasy calm. Often, he doesn't care what people think, but he has his temper, especially when he's been drinking (which is almost always). He is a drunk with a haunted past and sees people that no longer exist (paranoid schizophrenia).

-Ethics:

Although, in earlier and later descriptions, he is not portrayed as heroic or evil, he does live by a short listed code. He does not kill women or children, but has no problems hitting them in self defense. He will not indiscriminately destroy a life due to his mistakes (i.e. Theft, bar brawl, or his own disorderly conduct...etc...). When he wishes to die, he will refuse suicide, but instead start a fight in hopes someone can best him.

-Likes:

-Alcohol (Addicted: any kind)
-Fighting
-Causing Trouble
-Smoking
-Upholding what little honor he has left...
-Gambling
-Thinking the Ghosts of his family keep visiting him

Dislikes:

-Servitude
-Slave Owners
-Authority
-Daggerhands (mortal enemies)
-"Kids" (adventurers under the age of 18)

Brossk Snowsong

-Character History:

Brossk has always been a troubled individual. He had been orphaned not only at infancy, but had been orphaned throughout his entire childhood. He always had problems fitting and settling in when he knew he would just be cast out again.
When he finally found some form of acceptance at the age of 13, he was in Sunberth at this time. He was passed off to a family of criminals that cared little for him except for the money he could rake in for them.
It was a perverse form, but it was acceptance none-the-less. But, amongst his new family, a tragedy had befallen Brossk when there was a "misunderstanding" at his age of 16. Once again, he was cast from his home again with no where to go.
His only possessions were a deck of playing cards that were rigged for easy stacking, and the clothes on his back as he went to the cities where he thought he might have been born. He felt cursed by the Gods as he traveled to every corner of the world of Mizahar. Fighting and besting bandits and wildlife, he finally made it to a place he could finally call home.

Avanthal.

Avanthal, where he got the deepness in his eyes and where he finally found a bit of peace. He was 20 at this moment and was a handsome ruffian coming from the cities. A bachelor that had focused only on survival was greeted by young women from this part of the world, but saw only one.
A 23 year old woman by the name of Avilina Snowsong, normally by tradition, she was a hopeless cause for marriage, but Brossk could not stop thinking of her. Brossk could not give her anything, he was destitute and criminal by nature. He offered his only things of value, his sword, his cards, and his heart.
Avilina had few options, but she felt the same, young and in love. Her family accepted the gifts and passed them to their daughter, she then asked Brossk to keep these things of hurt to never be used again. He agreed to never cause harm in any way to anyone again and they were married. He took her last name to honor her and her acceptance of him instead of various foster families.

Years later, as he was 24, and she 27, they had a beautiful girl aged 4 that became their world as Brossk took up the trade of merchants. The Snowsong family were travelers that could outrun all trouble that crossed. Avilina was the spokeswoman of their trades, Brossk knew the various lands and who to sell to, their daughter, Kirar, learned to carve while traveling.
One day, Kirar had a special present to give to Brossk for his birthday, a carved sigil effigy of Kelwyn. Overjoyed, Brossk told her he would treasure it always. That birthday was the worst day of his existence.
They crossed into Sunberth to trade decorative weapons and jewelry. As they headed deeper in the town, the darker it felt in his heart. Old habits started to come back, paranoia, constant alert, etc... Nothing felt right.

As the family approached the client, an old acquaintance of Brossk's, the man could only repeat in hushed tones, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm, sorry...."
In these moments, Brossk broke promises as Daggerhands came out of the woodwork. He was overcome by swarming numbers of the gang as his final visions were of his girls being dragged off as bloodloss took him into a state of unconsciousness.

When his wounds had clotted and his heart was able to rebirth him, he came up swinging and mencing hour long dead corpses. His only thoughts were of malice as he set off on a bloody trail, starting with the hysterical client.

He searched for weeks leaving trails of blood behind him, always clasping the Kelwyn signant. He finally got a tip that his girls were sold into slavery and pursued this until the bitter end.

As he burst into the slave owner's home, he was devastated to find his wife had been flayed to death on the top floor. Questioning the patrons, he learned this home was used for fetish prostitution. After hacking and slashing his way to the basement, he found his daughter bound

-History Continued

and gagged at the mercy of older men. Brossk killed all in the room and rushed to Kirar's aide. His daughter was broken, bloody, bruised, and covered in the filth of many men.
As he caressed his daughter's cheek, she was starved, dehydrated, and hurt badly in many ways. She had only enough strength to lift her head, and with his eyes, looked at him to shed a single tear. As Brossk had brought his wife and child's corpses to the main entrance hall, he cuddled with his family.

He waited for hours and hours until the slave owner and his family entered the massacred establishment. Avilina and Kirar both spoke to him as the slaver family stared in pure fear.

"Kill them, daddy, please, they hurt me so badly."

"You should learn to forget, my love, please just let them go."

...He was torn for only a few moments...

As he left the establishment in flames. He carried his dead to the fields far from the corruption of Sunberth and buried them with his own two hands. He moved huge boulders used to mark their headstones.

Brossk went to the closest town away from Sunberth and crawled into a bottle to quiet the voices.

He has not crawled out since...

Brossk Snowsong

-Created Skill Style(s)-

(WIP Under Testing)

Name of Style:

Official Name:

Armor Piercing

Commonly known:

Wind Sheer

-Swordsmanship/CQC-

Skill: 10, can be learned, must be taught

Novice: 10-25 Novice

Causes fatigue, no major damage. Slight impairment.

Competent: 26-50

Causes major fatigue, slight internal hemorrhaging/bleeding. Crippling impairment, loss of consciousness. Can also affect ethereal beings at this level.

Expert: 51-75

- Also Requires Acrobatics at Competent levels

Major internal hemorrhaging/bleeding, can die from this if gone untreated. Immediate loss of consciousness.

Master: 76-100

- Also Requires Acrobatics at Expert levels

Insides are minced, instant death. Your impairment is now impairment of life... Bad day...

-Meditation-

Skill lvl * 2= (Inches Wind Sheer travels away from blade/fist)
Radius is only the length of blade or size of fist, making fine cuts or extending your reach with fists.

Note: These Formulas go for all of meditation side of the techniques.

Skill: 10, Can be learned, must be taught.

Novice: 10-25

Distance is measured by skill level in inches.

Can daze any individual.

Competent: 26-50

Can impair a few senses. Can cause more lasting harm into ethereal beings.

Expert: 51-75

-Also Requires Acrobatics at Competent levels

Can disarm an individual or loss of consciousness. Causes ethereal creatures to lose some abilities.

Master:

- Also Requires Acrobatics at Expert levels

Can cause permanent loss of simple functions. Same towards ethereal beings.

Forms:

-Formless-

Makeshift mockery where a truly untrained individual can make use of the various levels with no added effects. The fighter may take from any known stance from any other style or could fight having their hands at their sides/sword dragging behind them.

-Earth Stance-

A stance that is purely defensive. The fighter "grounds" himself, keeping knees bent and feet far enough apart to make the fighter stand firm. Blades are held pointing directly at the attacker, while hands are kept in a cross in front of the vital areas. The energy doesn't travel outwards normally, instead its used to transfer energy into armor or weapons to weaken or break. This is taught to those at competent skill levels.

-Fire Stance-

You guessed it, this one is offensive. Knees are a little more lax, but still apart to give mobility. The blade is held pointing downward to the ground and behind the fighter. Giving the appearance of being fluid with motions, this is not the case. Power from both blade and hand are absolute, but are very basic moves. The Fire Stance grants the fighters flow of energy and sometimes momentum to be more forceful than other stances, making a novice level daze knock someone down and into a trance. Can be taught at competent levels.

-Wind Stance-

A stance designed for evasion. The legs are made to be limber to allow pivotal motions to be easier. With swords, the hands are loose on the hilt and allow for a whipping motion and held like the fire stance. Unarmed combat is slightly different, both hands are open with palms out. The dominate hand being closer to the body, guarding the solar plexus, the off hand is extended out to be used to strike with quick motions. The forces within help increase the burst from the wind sheer by another multiple of 2. This is taught at expert skill, due to the nature of the stance.

-Water Stance-

Both sword and hands are relaxed with tip/s pointed downward. Fluid motion is utmost in this stance incorporating all stances strengths and weaknesses. The Water Stance has a special attribute of its own which is within the calming process making their bodies absorb certain blows, resulting in the fighter unharmed. Can be learned at mastery levels.
