Though new to the site, I am not new to RPs. I have some experience with other forum RPs, but I found/find them frustrating as their standards for writing are generally quite low. I do look forward to Mizahar's philosophy as a different kind of RP that encourages higher levels of writing skills. I am refreshed by Mizahar's attention to detail, particularly in world building--an important part of RPing, and I hope to easily integrate into Mizahar as a writing community. I am also happy to (soon) participate in a growing community, as most non-fanfiction RPs seem to be dying.
I enjoy reading and writing in many different styles (obviously, I am/have become super into 3rd person narrative), but I prefer action and storylines/RPs that keep moving. I do like cerebral stuff, too, though. I am open to a lot of different kinds of RP so I can broaden my abilities as a writer. Thus, I try to force my characters evolve as the RP continues (as all characters should). Unfortunately, in doing this I often make my characters/storylines too strange, and make plotlines that are 'stretches', which can be interesting, but also pretty useless in advancing my writing. I also often get stuck using the same boring synonyms to describe an even that I am writing about. I hope to work on these aspects of my writing while I RP at Mizahar.
So, I have just begun creating a character, and I am really excited to play him, although I have to acclimate myself to the way Mizahar operates first. There is a lot to learn! I just wanted to say that I was very pleased to find Mizahar (Through a topsites link. Yay!), and continue to be impressed as I have poked around. I hope to RP with you (plural?) soon!
