Upscale residencies can be found at Bluevein Apartments, where the some of the wealthiest of Riverfall’s residents can lounge in luxury. Located in the cliffside immediately adjacent to the waterfall, every balcony has a view of the falls and the Plunge Pool Bay below. The front door is guarded, and one needs to be either accompanied by a current resident, or on the approved guest list to gain entry. The bottom-most levels are for the live-in staff, who are on hand at any hour of the day or night for whatever residents may need, be it a hot meal, fresh bed linens, or a last minute tailoring. Many residents travel with their own personal servants and chefs, but if one is required, they may be employed for a modest daily fee. Daily fresh sheets and laundry are included in the seasonal rent. Each residence is two stories, with natural stone walls carved from the cliff, and a spiral staircase in the center to the upper level. On the first floor of the apartment is a spacious living area, kitchen, half bath, and massive, imported skyglass windows. The second floor contains master and secondary bedrooms, full bath, and opening to the balcony. At the uppermost levels, the balcony comes with an optional awning to protect from the elements. The floors are covered wall to wall with plush rugs, to protect delicate feet from the cold stone, and the walls contain several openings for candles and other light sources. Rich couches and pillows surround a deep hearth in the living room, and the kitchen is stocked with every utensil a master chef could need. The bedroom comes with a massive wardrobe and king size bed with linen bedsheets that can be upgraded to silk or velvet immediately upon request. The master bathroom contains, through clever Reimancy during construction, a hot spring for bathing, and a small, cooler, spring for more delicate personal cleaning. He is very active in assuring residents are in complete comfort during their stay, and his strong, calm countenance of often enough to ease even the pickiest of residents. There is almost always an assistant at his side, chosen from the pool of maids and hand servants, which he is ready to reassign to a resident at any moment to solve a problem he cannot stay long enough to attend to. Personally, he never intended to be a landlord – instead starting out at the Kuvay’Nas, where a knee injury forced him to take temporary leave and work at the Bluevein Apartments for a paycheck. Guests took to him so well, he retired permanently from the guard once his knee was healed, and over the years has worked his way up from manservant, to head of household duties, to superintendent, and finally to landlord once the previous one passed away. The hot springs in each room were his making – originally only one suite had access to a spring, and through his masterful Reimancy, he was able to redirect water from the Bluevein into the cliffs to supplement the supply of water, and then to create pools that accessed it in each room. He’s sired a few children through Nakivaks, and never engages in improper activity with a guest. Hatrum often protests this, but otherwise acquiesces to Lodum’s dominance.
