Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

I Wish I May, I Wish I Might

"No, that doesn't look like an eagle at all," Uopa muttered as she gazed up at the spray of stars to the south where Kanto had directed her attention. "It looks more like a lopsided chicken," she added with a giggle.

"Now you're just being silly," the Drykas replied as he shifted his body upon the pile of pillows and sheets they had dragged from the bedroom to the balcony.

"Stop fidgeting," the Inarta demanded as she too had to shift to compensate for her companion's restlessness. "Settle down or I'll send you back inside and enjoy this evening all on my own," she informed him as she poked him in the side.

"Do that, and you'll soon find yourself not as comfortable."

"You're right. You make an excellent pillow," she admitted, realizing that he was indeed creating a rather nice buffer between her body and the stone of the balcony below. "Now...just shut up and enjoy the view."

"Are you implying that I've let myself go soft?" he questioned.

"I believe I said, hush up."

"Make me."

Turning within his hold, her lips quickly found his and remained there for sometime, until he finally pulled away with a smile upon his now moist mouth.

"Hmmm," she remarked, "that's better."

Resting her head upon his gently rising chest - which was a long ways off from going 'soft' - she returned her attention to the radiant sky above.

It was truly breathtaking and it made the Inarta feel...small? No. Humble? Perhaps. Actually, the more she thought about it, it made her feel connected. It was a reminder of where she had come from. Her home was here in Riverfall, this she was certain of, but her roots stretched back to Wind Reach.

Open skies, over rolling hills, as far as the eye could see, she thought.

Letting a sigh slip from her lips, Uopa tilted her head a little so that she could focus once more on the cluster of stars to the south. "You know what? I think you may be right after all. It does sort of look like an eagle...if I close one eye...and squint with the other. Oh, and, right there, right next to it...just to the left...a female...on a horse. Do you see them?"

Silence.

"Kanto?" she questioned. "You may use your talented tongue once more," she joked, recalling how it skillfully toyed with hers within her willing mouth.

Silence.

"Kan...?" she began to question once more as she shifted her gaze toward his face, only to be cut short by a resounding snore. "Okay. I guess someone found their sweet spot of comfort."
