23rd Of Spring
"You are your biggest enemy." This was what the voice said. Kise awoke in total darkness, pitch black, dead silence. He was on the floor, ground or whatever was the lowest level of wherever he was at. He was confused, not scared but confused. He felt cold, dead...Lifeless. His body was motionless, he could feel nothing yet he felt everything.
"Where..Where am --" His speech was cut short by the immediate gush of blood he coughed up. He couldn't see anything but knew it was his blood. The texture..The smell..The heat. It seemed to rejuvenate him as it trickled down his cheek. Instantly like a flash not even a second after, he rose up. As if being pulled up by some force..It felt as if something strong yet mystical had pulled him up. As he rose up his nerves became fully restored, his heart began to beat and he took in a deep breath as he closed his eyes.
He began to feel everything truly as he held in that breath. He clenched his fists as his blood began to pump strongly, his heart began to pump louder until he finally grew the strength. He exhaled sharply as he heard a shattering noise, it was no longer pitch black. It was black with a single small crack in the wall, a crack that showed light, a very..Bright mysterious white but nonetheless white. As Kise slowly walked toward the light, he grew a little worried. "What's pass here...Is it for me?" He kept asking himself. "No..No...No!" Kise thought as he punched the wall open.
He was gasping for air as he walked out with eyes close. But before opening his eyes he felt a huge, radiant warmth welcome him all over his body. "Ah.." He said as he began to slowly breathe and open his eyes. He was utterly shocked by the beauty of what he saw.
A crystal world...Or glass. Whatever it was it was glossy white and extremely beautiful..But Kise was still very confused, as he turned around and saw a huge black mist behind him. Inside was his mother, smiling gently at him, holding his scythe. He looked at her with a stare of confusion and curiosity. The eye contact was sharp and locking and lasted for a while...Until finally broken by his mother. "My baby..Kise. Come here." She said in a sweet voice, instantly getting to her som as he slowly began to walk towards the black mist. "Mom..I have so much..So many questions." He said as a huge stream of tears ran down both cheeks. "Sshhh..." His mother said trying to comfort her child.
"I'm sorry I was never their. You deserve so much more..." "Yea mama..I'm sorry. It's just been so hard." Kise whined, now sulking and a complete mess. "Your gone and dad..." "I know baby..Come here." She said to Kise in an alluring and comforting voice. "Just come here." "But mama...I miss you so much. It's just not fair." Kise muttered out. As he stopped directly in front of the miss he stopped crying. "Come just a little closer baby...I will hold you like I used to." Kise wiped his tears while staring down at the ground as he began to slightly chuckle a bit. "What's wrong baby?" His mom said confused. "Your..Not..Mom."
"What?--" His mom said. "Your not mom!" Kise looked up as he yelled into the mist. "Kiseee!!!" The woman yelled now in a deeper voice as it reached out and grabbed his hand. "Come here now! Listen to your mother!" The voice snarled.
"That's more like it." Kise smirked with a smile as he bolo punched the image of his mother. It instantly shattered into the puddle of darkness much like the mist. "You have chosen to stay in the light." Said the voice. The same voice that warned him he was his own enemy. The mist then shriveled up to a very concentrated point so small it disappeared. As Kise turned around with a confident face, he began to walk away towards a huge spiraling crystal staircase. It wasn't very long till it got to another platform so he decided he'd start there to get some answers. As he began to walk up the stairs he chuckled a bit. "This is a dream right?...What did I eat?" He began to make excuses.
"Maybe I should stop eating before bed?" "Eh whatever..This dream is totally petched up." He added. "I mean seriously, who puts mom in a dream?!" All these ponderous questions ended up in a head shake in disapproval. "I'm getting to the bottom of this..And when I do. I'm going to kick some ass." He said as he finally finished climbing the stairs and popping his knuckles by tightening his fist. As he reached the top he was amazed by what he saw once more. A whole crystal like glassed floor field. Clean and polished as if it was new every second.
Untouched and never before walked on. He chuckled, at the thought of such beauty in a dream. This level that he had just ascended to, was just magnificent, words couldn't describe such a sight. But his sightseeing bliss was suddenly interrupted as he heard the voice once more. It had an ominous yet..soft ring to it. It became almost welcoming this time, as Kise wasn't alarmed, continuously walking while listening. "The darkness overwhelms you in this situation..Will you submit?"
As Kise continued to walk he slowed down his pace as he heard a sad series of moans in despair. "The darkness overwhelms me?" Kise muttered to himself as he came to a halt. An eerie wind had picked up....Breaking the silence. Kise's black cloak began to fly up and flap vigorously. As the mist began to once more fill up the area. The whole floor became pitch black, shrouded in a foggy floor of black.
"Tch! This petching mist again." Kise said as he clenched his fist. "Ki..Se..." said the mist. "Join us..Save us..Be us." This caused Kise to flinch a bit in disgust, as he stepped back a couple steps. Numerous humanoid forms of the black mist began to form. They had no eyes, no nose, no facial features except a mouth. A mouth that screamed a thousand screams and screeches. They wailed and whined as if being constantly burned by the flames of ivak without the relief of death after. Kise had smiled a bit, the darkness seemed to be apparent now. But overwhelming him...Was not an option. "Do you still choose to fight the darkness? It feels so good to give in and become what you are." Said the voice again in it's soft alluring voice.
"Just accept and embrace it." "Your right.." Said Kise as he began to tighten up his gloves. "It does feel good. But that's not my type of thing." "What's your choice?" Said the voice in a final and intent tone. "Why don't I just show you?" Kise replied as he slowly walked up to the first humanoid figure. He began to crouch down to show his allegiance to the darkness. "Ah..Good. Very good. You have chosen to--" The voice was interrupted as Kise sprang up and quickly uppercutted the humanoid figure. Shattering it in one blow, he stood up and put up his boxing set. "Level one technique..Lightnings Fury."
He began to quickly crouch and lower his body as he began to sway from side to side with his fist still up. Slowly walking towards the other humanoid forms. There was hundreds, no, thousands. And these forms, from an overhead third person view, had pretty much surrounded him. "Ok. Let's go!" He yelled as he charged into a pile. Quickly adding up the body count by instantly destroying the masses. His vision became blurry and his fighting style was more based on feel of the area around him.
His spree of Punches were soon stopped as he felt his arm grabbed from behind. He was shocked by the feeling of the hand. It felt cold, dead..creepy if anything. He quickly turned around and twisted his arm so the beast could release him. Then he grabbed it's right arm with his left. Pulling the humanoid into him he crushed it with a final straight. "Don't touch me!" Kise said in a rage as he began to gasp for air. The hand felt like it drained him of his energy..Or maybe he just imagined it? Could one imagine in a dream? He could no longer debate as a humanoid form jumped onto his back.
Enraged even more, he grabbed the beast by the wrist and slung it into the crowd of mist people. As they soon all toppled over (in one direction) he noticed another series of crystal stairs he quickly began to run towards it. Limping almost, he barely made it. Resting on the stairs in between the next and the last platform, he noticed the humanoid figures had vanished and could no longer harm him. A huge sigh of relief came as he laid back on the stairs...relaxing his muscles.
This isn't a dream anymore is it? This was the thought that continuously ate at and rotted his brain. He decided to just suck it up and get it over with, for he would make no progress just sitting there.
