Kay'Seraph Appearance Race: Symenestra Gender: Female Birthday: 16, Spring, 492. Birthplace: Sunberth Appearance: At 1.7m and 60kg, Kay is considered fit and lean. She has smooth black hair a few inches past her shoulders, pale skin, and hazel eyes with a slight tint of green. Character History Kay’s mother, Sirah’Lay, lived in Sahova for the latter part of her childhood. Her father had taken her there after his wife’s death, and had thought to resurrect his beloved somehow. He, Xhi-Shen, turned to the Nuit, seeking immortality, and decided to stay in the Citadel, forever trying to bring his beloved bonded mate back to life. Sirah hated the undead island, and longed to escape. She yearned for the lush opulence she had seen elsewhere in other cities, and now only remembered vaguely, as if a dream. She tried to entertain and distract herself with magic, and dabbled in many of the areas, but never delved quite deeply enough to get recognition. She bonded with a passing merchant from White Reach, impressed with his liveliness, and eloped with under the cover of the night. They went to Black Rock, where Xhi-Shen - her father - would never be able to get hold of her. But month after month, her bonded mate grew ill, not accustomed to the gloom of death, and working hard to support the two of them, especially with her becoming pregnant and needing extra food. The citizens were welcoming enough, but being a relative of a Nuit in the Catidal was not something Black Rock denizens appreciated. Her love, Kir-Sploot, died of fever, and had his wife promise him that their daughter would have a better life than the one currently expected. Sirah decided to return to Sahova, accepting the fact that she needs her father. She was more mature now, and living amongst Nuit no longer seemed so horribly awful a compromise. Even with child, she persisted in her travel. She went into labor in Sunberth, a few days away from her intended destination; and there, without any proper money to hire helpers, and without proper care, she died during child birth. Her soul’s anguish was too great. She had failed to fulfill her promise to her husband. Her daughter will be left helpless and an orphan amongst the most violent. Her father had not seen her face again, and she his. She transformed to a ghost after death, followed her daughter’s progress, and tried to help her. A few witnesses of the birth took pity on the child, and took her as their own. They had not been able to refuse the mother's dying wish, screaming in agony for her daughter to be taken care of. They were poor, residents of the Tent City slums, but they managed to keep her healthy with help from the rest of their community. As soon as she was old enough to beg, however, they sent her out to repay them. Sirah gradually introduced herself to her daughter, and tried to comfort her. She taught her everything she could; she gave her advice on survival, and even helped hone her mind. Eventually she passed on magic skills that she thought her daughter would need. She was unable to influence events drastically, however, and the path of crime was destined for the helpless child. Character Concept … Languages Fluent Language: Common. Basic Language: Symenos.
