It was nice of Dyson to help her get her things together, to volunteer time from his job in order to assist his smaller sibling in relocating her belongings to her new residence. It would have taken Tia'aria a while to do so herself, a fact she used to convince him to help her, and he agreed with an ease that had always made her smile. He was quite kind, really.
They sat together on her bed, resting for a moment, and talking. It had been a while since she had spoken to him, something the Konti regretted, but being here now, with him at her side as though they had seen eachother only the day before, it made her realise nothing had changed. Dyson was still kind, he still cared for her. He was her favourite brother and she loved him for his heart.
"So how is Llivaran?" She was asking him. He paid her a kindness by sitting a respectable distance away. She didn't have to crane her neck back to see his face. It put an ease to the moment. "I heard he had a cold at the end of the season. Nothing serious?" She was thinking of the outbreak in the Sea of Grass that had decimated the numbers of the Drykas there. The sickness may have died out, but she still worried for her youngest brother, the infant barely over two seasons old.
"Ah, he's fine. Fit as a fiddle, as the humans would say," Dyson laughed, his deep rumbling baritone. He smiled with an ease Tia didn't see often. "He had a slight cold but it went away pretty fast with mother's caring. Barely felt it, I think!" Tia'aria smiled at his relaxed tone. He wouldn't lie to her, nor would he withhold the honest truth.
He sobered up pretty quickly when she asked about her other brother, the one she hadn't seen in nearly a year. She was avoiding him for a reason. Dyson knew full well why, but he had a friendlier relationship with Corsin than Tia had. Although, Corsin was pretty hard on Dyson as it was. It was another revelation of Dyson's patience that he could withstand abuse like he did and still smile and be merry afterwards.
"He's fine, as always. The news of the human who helped bring about the Djed Storm made him angrier than usual for a while, although he wasn't up to the idea of finding the man and ending his life." Dyson said, a little less relaxed. "He's still not a fan of yours, Aria. When I told mother you were moving, he overheard me and had some... unkind things to say. You'd do well to avoid seeing him until he calms down, or you allow yourself to be Nakivak for somebody."
"Tch, Corsin can go be Nakivak to somebody himself. I'm not ready for it." Tia replied, waving her hand dismissively. "I'll become Nakivak when I find the Akalak that will treat me as a woman, not as somebody's womb. You can tell Corsin he can go... he can go petch a sheep for all it means to me."
Her tirade was uncharacteristic for her, but it brought a smile to Dyson's face. He began to laugh and she soon followed suit.
