Birth: 43rd of Winter, 493 AV Physical Appearance: Leyana is short and wiry, with weathered olive skin and a rounded face. Her long black hair shimmers bright blue, which usually matches her eyes. She generally dresses in oilskins, good at keeping out the cold and the water of the sea. History & Family Life: Leyana was born to a family of fishermen, and she has spent much of her life on the sea aboard her family's fishing boats. She is the third of five children, with three brothers, Coren (24), Johalen (21), Vyk (14) and one sister, Paesre (17). Leyana was actually born at sea - her mother, Senra, went into labor while aboard ship, and gave birth before they could return. When they returned, her father, Aviastas, was surprised to learn that his best friend's wife had given birth to a son, Taelis. The close ties between the two families made their future marriage a near certainty, and Leyana and Taelis were married shortly after they both turned 16. They have two children, the twins Nyssa and Miekel. Concept: Leyana is a family woman, but not one who stays at home. She is driven to provide for her family, particularly her children, and would risk a lot to ensure that they are safe and well-fed.
