Appearance: Shapka is a man who could pass for a tall woman from a far enough distance. He is slim and tall, around 6"1 and a half right now. He has a gentle face with delicate, slightly effeminate features. Like the rest of his family, Shapka has long eyelashes and bronze skin, his black hair is uncut and long, he tends to have it braided back in one of the intricate styles his sisters taught him as a child. He often paints a thick black stripe over his equally dark eyes.
Character ConceptShapka is a curious individual, always interested to know and learn more. As a child he was a pain to his parents, constantly scarpering around and, when he wasn't making a nuisence of himself with the others, he would sit next to his parents and ask them question after question, the whys and hows of the world. A peaceful, quiet man, Shapka is more likely to think or talk his way out of conflict than try and fight and, for that reason, his knowledge in combat is very limited. He's more solemn and calm than his family, so much that his parents would often joke that they their second son should have been born into the Kalanue tribe instead of the Tatsuwaat.
Character HistoryShapka was the fifth child of his parents, and their second son. He was born into the Tatsuwaat tribe and grew up there. Unlike his brother and most of the others boys his age, Shapka spent his spare time playing with his sisters and their friends, or badgering the adults for information about the most random things, such as why the sun came up in the morning, or what made the moon shine so brightly. He would have probably been teased if it wasn't for his unusual calm, solemness that made anyone mocking him feel awkwardly as if they were making a fool of themselves instead.
When he was fifteen, Shapka, like everyone else, took part in his own searching ritual. He'd heard from his brother and two of his sisters that the isolation was not by any means pleasant and had spent the days before it being reassured that everything would be fine - and his family's protectiveness had been both comforting and amusing because, while there were many things Shapka was scared of, being alone for a little while wasn't one of them. He found the isolation peaceful and generally enjoyable, it gave him time to think about things without a nagging parent or bored sibling wandering over to him. After finishing the ritual and receiving his spirit guardian, Shapka returned to his home.
Unlike his siblings, Shapka never married and his parents never pressed him to it. There simply weren't any women he felt attracted to. When he became an adult, Shapka decided to leave his family and seek the answers to all his questions himself.
