Arailzuki |
| Race: Eypharian Birthday: 19th of Fall, 493 AV Age: 19 Gender: Male Birthplace: Ahnatep Location: Zeltiva Appearance Arailzuki stands at a slightly abnormal seven foot three and weighs around two hundred sixty pounds. He is unmistakably Eypharian by his gilded skin alone, though the six muscular arms sharing his shoulders confirm it beyond a doubt. He does not adorn himself in fine clothing or makeup like his kin, making him appear quite bland in comparison. His hair is lengthy, and often braided to reach his hips. He often dulls his gilded skin with a light layer of dirt and wears a coat which he tucks his extra arms into, so he can blend in easier. Personality Being outside of his people’s land for so long has kept him from possessing their racist attitudes, but not the general outlook. Often when speaking affectionately of a human he will mention “Keeping” them, as a pet or slave, though due to his bright nature the latter could easily be ruled out. He is a man with a high tolerance and a thirst for new experiences. He will deal with anyone if they can teach him something new, or entertain him (which is an easy task.) There is only one fast track to angering him, and that would be negative mention to his hair. A special note; Arailzuki can be impulsive, and often remains broke or close to broke because of it. Likes: New people, complements, the feel of pure gold, thunderstorms and rainy days, wine, beautiful and exotic women, working with his hands, cooked vegetables, the smell of morning dew, long hair, most books Dislikes: Bread, violence, other Eypharians, the color purple, poorly written books Character History: Pre-Zeltiva Arailzuki was born into a normal family in the land of his race, but when growing up he always felt different. He had the body and the yearning for knowledge and experience but not their attitudes towards the outside world. He grew to hate how they treated the sailors when they came to port. They had been across the world, after all! In youth he had dreams of stowing away and moving to another land far, far away. But he was ten at this point, what could he do? Exactly that, with a summer trade ship in 504, he hopped a ship on the Akvatar Route and stowed away. It wasn’t long before the flaws arouse, primarily food and water for survival but at the time he would have begged to differ – he thought seasickness would be the death of him. When hunger was great enough, he left his nook and attempted to “borrow” food wherever he could find it, but with little good. He was discovered by one of the sailors, and before the seaman could speak, Arailzuki was begging and pleading. With luck, the sailor took pity on him. Food and water was given, but Arailzuki had to work for it, and passage. Even then he was happy to comply, because the sailor would tell him the most wonderful things about his homeland in Zeltiva, about a family and kids he worked hard to support and cherished with his life. Zeltiva, that is where he wanted to go. The sailor became a role model for Arailzuki, the man’s idea of an honest day’s wages and his positive attitude were something he could relate with, not to mention his appreciation of all races in Mizahar. The sailor was the one who made long hair an admirable trait to the young Eypharian, he had long hair down to the middle of his back held tail by a thin rope. Sadly, all journeys must end. Time almost flew by and before he was ready, Arailzuki had to part with the sailor to start his new life in the city. Before the man shipped off again, he offered a bit of advice the Eypharians did not seem to understand; “Treat others as you would have them treat you.” Even though the man put him to work cleaning, he had given him food and passage to a new land, a value far better than any effort Arailzuki could have given. Home in Zeltiva At first he was allowed to stay with the sailor’s family, though that was only by night and only to sleep. The rest of the time he spent out in the city. At the age of twelve he was taken to a large library full of books which he could have only ever dreamed of. He of course found favorites in the work of Fantasy, or of new, strange lands. Books of monsters, and stories of adventure were not lost on him either, everything seemed so interesting! From the number of books in the library, Arailzuki taught himself valuable skills. He learned to convert fantasy and reality imagined and lived into words and stories locked in literature. He enjoyed practicing, and even reading his stories to any who would listen, children and adult alike. The beautiful art of Calligraphy was not lost on him either, and whenever he found a new book he would practice it himself by writing passages from the book. It surprises many how he could write with not one, but all six of his hands with equal beauty... though attempts to write multiple topics at once was far out of his mental capacity he could copy whatever he was writing six times. At first it was a slow process, but as he practiced into the early years of adulthood he became quite good at it. He finally decided to find his own home and take a job where this skill could be used best, as a scribe to the library, or whomever would have him. He hoped to be able to keep his hobby of writing his own ideas, or perhaps the job would give him resources write his own book, a real book of his short stories, not the pile of pages and scrolls and even hides he had used to write upon.
