Lynaere in Ravok

Postby Lynaere Kaustrus on May 28th, 2013, 1:08 am

Lynaere had been walking for some time, getting to know the layout of Ravok. She was hoping to meet some of the more friendly people, however, she found nobody. Rounding the corner, she came across a man. He looked human enough, and he wasn't Kelvic, so, Lynaere called out in greeting.
"Hello there, fine day, isn't it," she said to him. But when he wheeled around to face her......the sight of it all was too much. The man, with a knife up to a young girl's throat, was much more of a threat than Lynaere had realized. She quickly took note of all detail: young girl, no threat; man, dangerous. The girl tried to ask for help, but the knife was only pushed closer to her throat. "Hel--," Lynaere was already thinking of a way to save her by the time the man looked her in the eye. She couldn't change form, for fear of being collared, but she could fight him. She wasn't used to unarmed combat, but, this was an emergency. The rough voice of the man brought her out of her thoughts. "Take a step closer, and I'll slit 'er throat open," he half-yelled. In reply, Lynaere, instead of saying anything, kicked him. In fact, she actually disarmed him. He doubled over in pain, cursing at Lynaere. Lynaere grabbed the knife out of his reach, and tied him to a led pipe. She then grabbed the girl's hand, and quickly led her out of there. Once they reached a safe distance, she asked her name. "M-my name...is....F-Faina," she shakily replied. Lynaere decided to find them both a place to rest safely, but for now, all they needed was to find trust.

Lynaere in Ravok

Postby Lynaere Kaustrus on May 29th, 2013, 6:00 am

Some time later, Lynaere awoke to the sound of Faina crying. Faina, in the midst of a horrid nightmare induced by earlier events, was groping at the cloak Lynaere had put around her. "Sssh, little one, do not fret, it was only a dream," she whispered, waking Faina from her slumber. It was dawn, time to rise. Lynaere had many questions to ask. "Faina, may I ask you some things, if it wouldn't be intruding?" The faster they got to know each other, the better. Lynaere could find her home, if Faina had one, and see why she was in that mess. "Of course, I-I mean, you did save my life and all...no problem, I'll answer to your questions, but, what's your name?" Lynaere was glad to hear that. She was ecstatic to learn that someone trusted her. "My name is Lynaere. You can call me Lyn for short, oh, by the way, do you have a home?" Lyn was half hoping she would reply no, seeing as this is the first person who'd ever treated her with respect. "Well, um....no, not really, I've lived on the streets," Faina replied, a bit shakily. Lyn could tell she was a Kelvic, perhaps a mouse, judging by her shyness and timid personality. "I've stolen food, and that time in the alley I got caught. All I wanted was a loaf of bread, even stale crumbs. Not much to ask, but he got violent and caught me by surprise." Lyn was overjoyed. A bittersweet moment, this was. She had a true companion, someone who needed her. "Well, in that case, why don't we leave this wretch of a city? We could live in a better place, you and me! Let's be friends," Ah, the joy of this. For the first time in a long while, Lyn had someone there for her. They could go anywhere in Mizahar. "Oh, before I forget, are you a Kelvic, Faina?" The only thing left to do, in this city, was to find their way out. "Mhm, I'm a mouse! Hey, what are you? Hmm, lemme guess, a wolf maybe?" Faina was as good as Lyn was in many things. They were the perfect pair. "Yes, I'm surprised you could guess! Are you up for some food? I've got some fruit, if you like apples." This would be a long, but not terrible, journey.
