Timestamp: 33rd Day of Spring, 513 AV
The sun was fairly pale for a warm afternoon, but Thayer didn’t pay much mind to her surroundings. She was enveloped in a wild goose chase, for yes, a wild goose. She had seen in waddling past, unaware of Thayer’s presence.
Thayer had to dodge twigs and escape over fallen logs, once bringing her hind leg up far too high than it was meant for, causing a pull she hadn’t expected would sound too pleasant. One time, not too short from the present, Thayer absentmindedly hid behind the bushes, her breathing quick for a nimble wildcat, her eyes straining to see that the goose had turned on its flippers to scan its surroundings for once.
The event felt like a mere flashback from now as she closed in on her prey. She hadn’t eaten in what felt like a week, but couldn’t have been more than a day or so. Her stomach was the only thing that would have given her away if she retained her focus on the task at hand.
But something caused Thayer to slip. Something from out of the corner of her eye had her lose focus, become distracted, in turn misplace her meal.
A woman of dark hair, vibrant blue irises and a pale complexion had Thayer choking on her spit. This woman was beautiful, yet resembled much like someone she knew. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but knew that she couldn’t catch the eye of the huntress. Her body was accompanied with many weapons, but the only one that caught the eye of the lynx was the steel teethed gauntlets held securely tight on both woman's hands.
Her breathing sped up, memories attacking her brain. She couldn’t let this mere human see her in her lynx form. She wouldn’t become prey instead of her natural predator style. So as quickly as her ability could possess, she focused her attention on her body and hoped that the sparkling white lights weren’t too visible.
The lynx’s claws, tail, fangs, four legs and ears placed upon the top of her head soon turned into fingernails, buttocks, normal sized canine teeth and arms and legs. The feeling of having a human form caressed Thayer’s heart, before she saw the woman take notice of her nude body.
Being a Kelvic, Thayer didn’t mind being naked, but she couldn’t show this woman that she was a Kelvic. She had experienced problems with others’ knowledge about her being of different race before and wasn’t going to relive those terrible experiences.
She tried to hide her breasts with her arms, mentally cursing herself for not having brought her bag of supplies. She was merely going to catch a meal for herself, for she didn’t need an extra pair of clothing and what not.
“Help,” she moaned. She needed to act the part, playing at what a human would have, so she continued the charade by calling out for help. She already had a story to tell of how she had come across to being bare in the middle of the forest.
The woman drew near, her face appearing to be one of confusion and surprise. Thayer knew she had the woman right where she pleased. Perhaps this woman would help her with clothing, take her into the town, somewhere she had desired to go for a long while? Perhaps this huntress would take Thayer to her tent, apartment or private residence and make her up a meal? Or, all of the scenarios could be the exact opposite. This huntress could be the devil in disguise; a mercenary gone insane only to kill everyone she saw.
Deciding that the latter was utmost irrational, but still optional, Thayer continued her lie crying out her tale. “I was ransacked by some bandits! They stole all of my things, my clothes, even my mother’s necklace.” Thayer had thought the part about losing her necklace was a nice touch, but couldn’t help but start to tear up at the mention of having a memento from a family member, for her father, her mother had never given her anything to remember them by.
“Can anyone help me?”
