Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Blown Out of PropOrtion (Riaris)

"No, Nimi, he's coming here," Uopa informed her aunt as she entered her studio through the door that connected her workspace to the frontend shop of Artfire Glassworks. "I already went to Gideon's and did some preliminary sketches. He agreed to come here and..."

"I just...I don't understand why," the older Inarta cut her niece off as she too entered the studio space through the same door. "After what happened here just twelve days ago..."

"I don't want to talk about that," Uopa snapped as she reached for her stack of sketches, which sat upon her desk near the window.

"Well, you can't pretend it didn't..."

"Happen? I know it happened. Trust me, I know exactly what happened. But I don't need to be reminded of that right now," the younger Inarta replied as she tried to focus on getting ready for her guest.

"Uopa..."

"Not now. I have things I have to do. Just...just go. I'll be fine."

"I worry about you," her aunt said now in a near whisper.

Turning to face the woman, Uopa nearly lost it. She wanted to scream, and cry, and break something, all at the same time! However, instead, she took a deep breath and replied, "I know you do...and I appreciate it. I do. But I'm a grown woman now and I can take care of myself. Besides, Riaris is a kind soul. Anyone who can put up with me for as long as he did, deserves to be treated with the utmost respect. I believe he would be greatly offended if I told him he wasn't allowed to be here with me, all alone, because you worry about what may or may not happen."

"You're right. He's an Akalak. They do tend to get easily offended."

"And he's big, too. Like, really big," Uopa informed her as a smile slipped into place upon her lips.

"Oh my."

"Not like that! Well, not that I know," the young Inarta pondered.

"And you better not find out!" Nimi demanded.

"As I just finished saying, I can take care of my..."

However, Uopa was unable to finish her statement as there was a knock at the outside door of her studio. It was a firm knock, which meant more than likely there was a towering mass of Akalak muscle waiting for her on the other side.

"Coming!" she called as she shooed her aunt out the door they had just come through, back into the shop's gallery space. "Be there in a chime!" she continued to call as she slammed the secondary door shut and then proceeded to give her studio a quick once over. "Come in," she finally called, deciding that the space was as good as it was going to get.

Blown Out of PropOrtion (Riaris)

It had been an interesting afternoon for Riaris, or rather it had been a busy and sort of annoying one. Johan was at it again, and she wasn't going to let up until she had all the juicy details. She learned that he was going to see a red head, this of course set her into motion. She was used to him wandering off to meet with the konti at the Sanctuary, but this wasn't the same woman, no this one had very red hair and was Inartan. For as long as she had known him Riaris had been strictly for konti women, it was Recoomas who wasn't as picky with his women.

Riaris wouldn't give in however, and even though the girl was good at pestering him, he gave her no more information than he had already. He left her hanging with a question and headed off to the studio that Uopa had told him about. He attire wasn't exactly dressy, nor what it what he wore when he was simply working out. It was hard to say what to expect, and she had told him of anything he should wear either. He left his tow-bladed sword at home, but as always he had his lakan with him.

When he arrived to the place, he noticed that it seemed empty, or perhaps it wasn't open just yet. This caused him to stand outside for a moment and think it over. He didn't recall hearing any such things about it being closed and with that he went ahead and knocked on the door. A bit of relief washed over his face when he heard her voice, at least now he knew that someone was inside. Riaris folded his arms as the woman called out a few times having him wait even more before she allowed him to come in.

Opening the door, the bulky Akalak walked inside and looked around the place. "I take it I'm not too early?" He asked slowly walking closer to the woman. It was interesting, he hadn't remembered her being so short. He knew the woman was little, but for some reason, she appeared even smaller now. "I do like what you've done with the place."

"Oh, no, not at all. I'm the one who is sort of running behind, but I think this is as good as it is going to get," Uopa replied as she motioned for him to enter, then, upon hearing his kind words, she told him exactly that. "You're very kind to say that. I do try to keep things in order around here, for as long as possible. It makes it easier to work that way. I simply cannot function in a disorganized, messy space. Now, please, have a seat," she warmly added as she motioned to a chair by the window. "May I get you something to drink?" she questioned as she stepped deeper into the workspace. "I made arrangements for a mid-day meal, a bit later on. Just a small way of saying 'thank you' for helping me out. However, I would be more than happy to fetch you a refreshment now. It can get a little warm in here, especially once I strike up the oven, which I'm hoping to be able to do at some point today."

The Inarta paused now and gave him a moment to respond, which also afforded her the time she clearly needed to regroup. When nervous - and excited - Uopa often rambled like this, and for some reason he was making her particularly jumpy. Perhaps...it was...his size? Yes. That was probably it. He seemed so much larger now. So very much larger and, well, intimidating. His head nearly hit the ceiling and his shoulders, well, they, they just, she could barely see the window behind him! He was huge, but, like, huge everywhere, and it sort of spooked her a little.

"Do you mind if I, uh, open a window or two?" she questioned as she moved to push the one closest to her ajar. "As I said, it does tend to get a bit warm in here, which is why, whether you want one or not, I think we do indeed need a refreshment. I know I could use a tall, cool one just about now," she concluded with a smile and a brushing of her hair away from her face.

Blown Out of PropOrtion (Riaris)

Riaris watched the tiny glassblower as she moved about. He sometimes wondered how the world must look for those who were so small, compared to him. Although, he usually imagined it was the same by most. The world around them was a huge place, and they were all tiny compared to it's grand scale. Riaris stepped further inside when he was invited and looked around more.

"I hear that artisans enjoy a certain way of doing things that go hand in hand with their visions. Is that what you've done here?"

The tiny redhead was right in fact, and it was getting very hot inside her shop, which made Riaris wonder if he would be treated to another performance of water works. He didn't speak of this however, and instead commented on the arrangements for food, that she thought to have sent from them. "You are very generous, but I hope that you know. Akalak's are known for their...appetites. I hope I won't burden you."

He moved around a bit more, making sure to pay more attention to his surrounds rather than the attractive tiny redhead who couldn't see to stand still. "Sure I'll take a drink and go on and do whatever you need to. You don't need to go out of your way for me."
