Physical Parameters

Just some notes for myself to keep Uleru's unique anatomy in mind.

Battle Strategies

Otani are hard to hold and even harder to kill. But that does not mean they aren't vulnerable. They are. Simply withhold water from an Otani and it will perish in just a few bells outside of their watery worlds. Otani can be poisoned as well. They take their nutrition like other creatures, feeding as omnivorous manner. So bad food can readily effect them negatively. Because of their magical monstrous nature, Otani have no internal organs or bodily structures like a mammal would have. Instead they are mostly fluid filled and djed heavy.

This character isn't very old, but reading through the Otani page I realized that this race has a lot of outs in a fight and would be incredibly hard to balance. I shouldn't be able to fight a character thats been here for years and win. So, I'm listing very specific strategies for other PC characters to kick my ass with. Which isn't to say this is it, there are more if you are creative and I'd love to see them come into play during a battle.

But be mature and be fair, I'm trying to even the odds not pass my ass around to be repeatedly kicked. And keep in mind this is entirely OOC. You're character will have to figure this out him/herself.

So, without further ado, some simple strategies-

Get to Higher Ground: Everything Uleru does, and by every means she has, she will try to push, drag, and trick you into the water. You do not want this, because if she does its not much of a challenge to grab you by the ankle and drag you under until you drown. To avoid this you just have to get out of her reach (which isn't very far) and away from the water.

Fire: This will wreck her shit like you wouldn't believe. Wave a torch at her and she won't touch you, build a fire on the beach and she wont come close, and fire Reimancers are considered one of her greatest fears. If someone hit her with fire Reimancy or a cocktail bomb or what have you, there is a good chance she will drop dead on the spot if enough of her is out of the water. Even if it misses but grazes too close, the heat can make breathing very difficult and she will have to return to the water to survive much longer.

Pin Her Down: Not the most efficient, or the easiest, but its worth mentioning. If you can coax or trick her out of the water then you can keep her there if you jab a sword, heavy arrow or javelin through her. She cant change shape while she's on dry land, so this grip will be much more lasting. Just keep an eye on her and wait a few hours and she will suffocate out of the water.

Poison: She might be able to take a javelin through the forehead like a champ, but a dart thats been coated in poison can seriously hurt her. She will react negatively to nearly all poison that will hurt a human, and this is a good way to stay out of arms reach and hit potshots with a blowgun or something (you heartless monster).
