Day 5 Summer 513 AV

Ketrien stared up at the noonday sun floating high up in the sky, his search for an experienced hunting party was not going as planned, knowing very little about the land around him normally wouldn't bother him, being able to adapt quickly, however this time around he wished to err on the side of caution. Breathing deeply he arose from the bench and stretched his muscles, 'It's too crowded for my liking' Ket thought 'I need to get outta here for a couple days, the wilderness beckons to me.' Sighing Ket began searching for his primary reason for being here. Still no clues have surfaced as too why he was pulled to this particular city.

Ket warily yet gracefully walked through the streets, weaving in and out of crowds of people. Frustration was setting in, 'How long will this take' he wondered, grunting to himself in annoyance.

Finally deciding to call it quits for an hour or so, he started making his way towards the tavern, itching for a fresh meal and a moment to himself to collect his composure before setting off again. Reaching the Inn quickly, his knowledge of the city growing alil more each day, Ket entered and sat in his usual spot and ordered his usual meal, Spiced lightly seared venison with roasted potatoes. Ket sat there staring at the wall, contemplating his next sets of actions, when his food arrived. Looking down, he inhaled deeply, the scent of mixed spices both sweet and spicy filled his senses completely. reaching in his pocket he pulled out two gold mizas and handed them to the serving girl and waved his hand excusing her.

As she left, Ket reached in grabbing a small chunk of meat and plopped it into his mouth savoring the exquisite and unique flavor. 'Though I am not big on spiced meat I must admit this is delicious.'

Old Dogs and New Tricks

Postby Ace on June 5th, 2013, 6:42 pm

Ace had just awoken from her peaceful slumber, now looking down from her nest. The people were walking up and down the streets, buying, selling. Everyday things that humans did. Although Ace didn't understand why they traded all their shiny stuff away for some junk. It was just madness!

But enough of her thoughts. She shook her head and let out a long screech before flapping her wings and landing down to the ground where she had left her clothes the last night. She slowly tugged them from behind a large box, spreading them on the ground. After she had all her clothes, she flashed to her human form and quickly put the clothes on. Her brain screamed "Adventure!", but she knew that she had to adapt more of the human culture. So, she headed to the tavern. But wait! She thought, maybe... If she went there in her kelvic form, she could get some food from the floor without looking suspicious!

She strutted away again, flashing to her kelvic form and slowly but surely hopped to the tavern door, looking around for any people who tried to make bird-soup out of her. She waited for someone to enter or leave so she wouldn't bring up much suspicions.

And as soon as she stepped into the tavern, her head was filled with chatter and laughter, and many, many people. She looked around for a peaceful spot and tried to not get stomped on by the crazy humans. It was hilarious, but terrifying at the same time, for such a small bird could easily end up in the pot.

As scared as she was, she soon found a place to scout the area. She sat on the back of one of the chairs in the tavern, occasionally leaving the place to steal some food people accidentally dropped on the ground. It was a gold-mine for her, because of the food the found. But still, it wasn't much. Her stomach started growling eventually, and it seemed like people didn't drop as much food anymore.

She put her wings in the air and let out a little screech before acknowledging what she just did. She looked furiously around the tavern, looking for a closest escaping route if someone tried to capture her. Her jet black eyes shifted from human to human, trying to notice any clear changes in their behavior after her oh-so-clear hunger announcement.
Ace speaks Tukant fluently, while her Common is a bit worse. Not talking about the Pavi she can merely speak a word of.

Old Dogs and New Tricks

Postby Duce Hazimari on June 7th, 2013, 6:19 pm

He had heared the little screech from across the room, and already knew what was about to play out when the sound of steel rubbing metal came from the kitchen. "Poor animal." He said to himself as he scanned the room searching for the soon to be cooked meal if not already in hiding or trying to flee out of the door.Spotted. Under the tables to the diagonal right." Duse said painting the mental picture for Duse in their head. Duce looked at the small animal from afar. It was a small brown bird with smooth feathers, looking with fear at every face like it knew that its fate was sealed.

The cook burst through the kitchen doors with a knife and cleaver in each hand."I heard it where is it?" he asked the customers searching first the windows then the roof. Duce was humored that the cook didn't know that he was standing only a few feet from the small bird and was searching as if it were a last meal of some sort. "We now her." Duse said "Know who?" Duce asked in confusion. "The bird. Remember when we were out hunting by the trees." Duce pretended to remember though it was obvious that he didn't. "The girl by the tree. Thats her." Duse said in a tone that showed that he was annoyed with the lack of memorence he shared.

I'm taking over." Duse said as he was pulled from withing and out into the scene. The cook was still failing to find the little bird, as he made his way to the table to scoop it up."Gotcha!" the cook said as he finally looked under the table and spotted the creature. Duse acted fast moving quickly across the Tavern and pushing the cook out of the way. "It's ok now." he said to the bird. "How dare you!" the cook said pushing Duse back and into a male sitting behind him causing the male to hit the wall. [frame2]

Ketrien stood quickly acting next, putting two and two together. 'Another Kelvic, not on my watch!' he thought. Moving quickly with reflexes quite unlike that of a human, Ket bounded around the table and found himself between the cook and the Akalak male. "I'm quite sorry for this, but it seems this bird is quite fond of the bread you make, as I have fed it the last few days. Please allow me to right this wrong, without bloodshed." He says in thick accented common. Ket lowers his hand too the bird and winks to her nods to the Akalak, then again turns his head to the cook. "I will pay you a meals worth in mizas for this confusion and for your trouble." he says humbly, reaching with his other hand to his coin pouch and pulls out two gold mizas.

Reluctantly the cook nods, not about to turn away free coin. As he stands he dusts himself off then grabs his fallen cleaver and grunts. "I see that bird in here again and I'll pluck it and serve it as stew, ya'hear?"

Handing him the gold mizas and nodded thinking 'Quite clear in fact.' Ket turned towards the Akalak then produced a small hunk of bread and tried to coax the small bird onto his hand. Awaiting patiently as he met the eyes of the Akalak. "Well met, I am referred to as Ketrien"

Old Dogs and New Tricks

There was some manner of commotion at the Kulkukan; Litani approached somewhat warily, having a thought of a quick meal that she did not have to catch, clean, and cook herself... It was a welcome contemplation, given the last few weeks of travel alone. She paused some distance off, observing for just a moment. Quick blue eyes skittered across the faces of those nearby and, seeing them give no second glance to the situation, the Konti felt at small liberty to drift closer.

As she neared, the pale blonde started to smile, her hesitation melting. At least outwardly. Whatever might be going through her mind was another matter, for she gave all appearances of being serenely at peace with her surroundings. With a deep breath, her shoulders settled themselves down on her back and she walked inside. Once within, she stepped gingerly to one side of the door so as not to be in the way whilst her eyes adjusted from outside light to indoors; in the interim, she stood slowly gazing at those surrounding her -- the collection of Ketrien, Duce, and Ace did not escape her attention, but neither did seek to stare. Instead, she whispered a mantra in her mind and let her casual smile settle easily as she drifted through the room. Her steps lead her to something resembling their collective vicinity, but yet standing apart as she politely signaled for a serving girl.
