Character Concept Jaython is a smart, outgoing, friendly person, a gentleman with his mannerisms, and easy on the eyes of the ladies. He's always more than willing to lend a helping hand, and enjoys the social scene when he can. However, he does enjoy his solitude too, in which cases one can almost always find him near the water. Jaython is more than capable of living a normal life, like other humans, but periodically, he can't fight the pull the sea has on him. He knows this is because of where he comes from, regardless that he wasn't raised with his people or their lifestyle. Deep inside, he is troubled by the fact that his parents abandoned him at birth, and he wishes to find them and find out why. However, he knows this is a foolish antic and never follows up these thoughts with actions.
Character History Jaython was born a Svefra in Summer. His had taken a non-Svefra as a partner, and when she bore him a son, he had her hazel eyes, and not the blue eyes the Svefra families pride themselves on. Like all children born with eyes a color other than blue, Jaython was to be cast to sea and offered back to Laviku. Having originally come from an outside lifestyle, Jaython's mother couldn't bare the thought of just tossing her baby boy into the ocean. Always a quick thinker, when it came time to release her son, she opted to go off and take care of it by herself. Little does anyone know, she didn't toss her baby into the ocean as directed. Instead, she sailed off in the night in her casinor to bring her baby to the nearest shore. There she made the hardest decision of her life, to leave her baby boy bundled in the sand, her finest beads and his father's cutlass, left with him. She never knew if someone found him and rescued him or not.
The Gods were watching over Jaython though, as a common woman went down to the water line that morning and found the baby bundle. She took him home and raised him as her own. As he grew up, Jaython always felt drawn to the seashore, and often spent his time there, relaxing, thinking, swimming, and fishing. He doesn't know much about his real family, just that he came from the Svefras and the things found with him, came from his parents. To this day, he knows nothing else, and while he's contemplated searching for them, he's never actually gone through with the idea.
