Ravija A'sarrian Appearance Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 18 Birthday: 42, Winter, 494. Birthplace: Ravok Appearance: Blazing red hair is the first thing most people notice about Ravija. She’s petite, just a few inches over five feet in height, but solidly built with generous curves both at the bust and hip. Her eyes are a shade of blue-grey and wide set above her roman nose. Her lips are full and often curved upward into a friendly smile. Practicality wins over most things with her clothing as she prefers pants and shirts to dresses or skirts though she has a few special things tucked away just in case. She favors the color blue as it makes her eyes look more blue while other colors tend to make her eyes appear to be more grey. She has scaring on her back, chest, and stomach that she keeps covered up with clothing. Only someone who is intimately familiar with her would have any knowledge of the scars. Character Concept Ravija comes across as a friendly young woman in most situations. She is outgoing and likeable while in the public eye and with acquaintances. She has an ambitious soul and a keen mind that she keeps to herself for the most part. It is rare that someone will see the person behind the smile. She has some lofty goals in life but is convinced with hard work, careful planning, and a bit of luck that she will achieve what she wants in life. Her desires are based on growing up with just enough and no more. She didn't care for life on the edge of too little and is working as hard as she can to leave that behind. Her ethics are not well defined at this point in her life as achieving her goal is more important than how she gets there. She has definitely taken some of the finer points of Rhysol’s teachings to heart. Character History Ravija has lived in Ravok her whole life. She grew up with her parents in one of the small apartments on the docks of the city. They were lucky to have acquired one of the apartments with a balcony looking out over the docks. Her early childhood was pleasant. She spent her time learning from her mother, Alissa, pestering the dock workers, and swimming in the waters of Lake Ravok. When she was eight years old her father, Merik, disappeared leaving Alissa as the sole provider for herself and Ravija. Ravija's mother had been earning some miza for herself by providing herbs and basic healing advice to some of the residents of their apartment building. Alissa ended up expanding out her small business to bring in enough money. It kept Ravija’s mother very busy and left the young girl mostly on her own. Ravija did what any curious child would do when left on their own, she explored. Over the years she came to know every nook and cranny of the floating city. As a teenager Ravija found herself exploring more than just the city as she felt drawn to the Temple of Rhysol. She spent more than one day discussing Rhysol with the members of the Black Sun that tended to the Temple. The God of Chaos appealed to her adolescent self. Her continued curiosity about Rhysol caught the attention of an Acoylte who started grooming the young girl for entry into the organization. What Ravija didn’t notice that she had caught the attention of another member of the Black Sun. The tall man kept his interest to himself even though he kept a close eye on Ravija and her unofficial indoctrination. The day of Ravija’s 16th birthday she went to the Temple in the center of the city. Such was her faith in Rhysol that she spent the day meditating over her devotion to the dark God. She went home that night, content that her choice to pursue membership into the ranks of the Dark Sun was the right one. However, when she went home she was not expecting the sight before her. The door to the apartment was open, just a crack, and she could smell the coppery tang of blood. With the arrogance of youth Ravija barged into the room to see a familiar, tall man sitting in a chair in the center of the room. At his feet was her mother’s corpse. Ravija turned to flee only to be caught and restrained by the man. It was the longest night of her young life. When the sun rose Ravija’s torso had been well marked by the man’s blade along with a plethora of bruises along her body from other abuse. She was blindfolded, so she couldn’t see the sun, but she could hear the water birds calling when the man finally spoke, “Rhysol wants both of us for his own daughter. You suffer so I may go to him first.” Ravija has not gone to the Temple since that night. Instead she picked up where her mother left off, though with less skill than her mother had. She had to move to a smaller, inside apartment at the docks which left her unable to try and grow herbs like her mother did. She is not content to just survive and has spent the last two years planning and learning so she can achieve the goals she has set for herself.
