[The Fourth Day Market] Strange Market Meeting (Carac)

Postby Zenab on June 28th, 2013, 3:17 pm

16th day of Summer, 513 AV

Unfriendly was a word that suited Nyka very well. Especially for one who didn't born within the wall of the Celestial City. Where ever she turn around, pale people smirk at her with dislike. Mainly they choose to ignore her and she was grateful they didn't seems to begrudge her. However she realize sooner or later the condition wouldn't benefit her much. For now she just enjoying solitude on her own. She pull her red shawl over her head and strode across the shades of Safe Haven, where she would stay for the entire season. It wasn't luxurious but it comfortable enough for her. Her bright green eyes stared awhile at the onlookers. Nykans tend to wear colorful outfit in contrast to their stark and palid appearance, a similarity that Zenab also posessed. She wore her sleeveless red tunic and her shawl with the same color. Being made by skillful hands of Yahebah, Zenab proud of its quality. Moreover, its felt like a little bit home. A few things that wouldn't walk away from her.

She walked over the crowded city in a swift pace. Passing through sea of cold and solid faces. She simply started to adapt the lukewarm summer without piercing heat waves and solar ray that stormed Eyktol. But she miss the forever changing sand dunes that was her playground when she was younger. Ah, it's not a time to drowned by nostalgic echo of distant past, she has things to get done this day. Het clothes was worn out of traveling and weather, she need to replace them immediately. Nyka wasn't a kind city for foreigners, thus she didn't know if there was anyone around there that would sell her a clothes or two. Zenab couldn't help but wondering what's wrong with the denizens. Yahebah always open handed for anyone, and unless one did something really bad, they wouldn't be treated bad.

Zenab walked through the Celestial Square for chimes before she was stumbling upon a great amount of people gathered at the street. It take much time for her to realize that she was right at the place where people usually get to sell and buy things. The Fourth Day Market. And she was surprisingly speechless. First of all it lack of the joy and passion and... everything that a normal market would have! Where was the shouts of the merchants that seduced people to came? Where was the waves of laughter from people when bargaining? Where was the giggle of the toddlers that longed for sweets? At every direction she just came at a fierce sellers who glared at a serious buyers that handed down some coins or checking items. And all of the trade process was barely take a chime! Ha! Now she felt sorry for Nykans, they just people that didn't enjoy their days, seasons, and years. That explains why they bore that bitter expression upon encountering foreigners. Because they know we were enjoying life much more than they do!

Cheered a bit by the innocent thought, she move as swift as desert breeze among the crowd. She wasn't tall, here and there she found many towering figures blocked her way and kept her sight from the sale. The crowd didn't give her much space to move freely but her agile build help her avoiding commotion with grumpy Nykans. She started to look after cloth merchant. Since Nykans like to wear colorful clothes, it didn't hard to find one. The harder part was to look for some garments that suit her taste. And that seems to became harder when she did it under the seller sharp eye. The man standing at the elaborate semi permanent tent store could easily mistaken as a guard. Broad shoulders, big arms, and scars, no one would think that he was actually the owner. She always picky to choose anything, but she couldn't think that she could bargain with those fierce looking seller. Indeed it might be wise enough to keep her mouth shut for this little trip.

She picked up an dark blue tunic with silvery decoration. No way. She need daily clothes, it way too glamorous for her. The other white one was cute, but she didn't think it would match her tan. She was began to enjoy her time when unexpected piercing comment strike her directly.

"Are you buying or not? I don't have time to spend on a buckless beggar you know."

She smiled in reply. It was useless to argue. May be she was passing the Nykan standards of patiency? It was no more than three chimes since she enter the tent. But still, she need the clothes. Zenab pointed at the white and orange one. It just plain tunic like the one she wear.

"That would do."

The trade was quick and Zenab didn't even bother to turn back for second time. Well, let it be a lesson for the next. She still need to bought garments and few other goods. It would be a long day ahead.

[The Fourth Day Market] Strange Market Meeting (Carac)

Postby Carac on July 2nd, 2013, 12:43 am

Carac left his lodging at the hostel, Changing in his Armor and Sword for Simple Rags and his Fathers dagger, Concealed however, He was confronted once before for being so Armed in Nyka, He didn't want it to happen Again. Still, He wanted to continue wearing it for it allowed him to become more and more comfortable in it the longer he can stay in it. Without exhausting himself, The Better. It was a typical day in Nyka, Streets of swirling colors and rather Unhappy Nykans, He stuck out like a Ugly Duckling in a pond of Beautiful Swans. He wandered for a while, Returning the same Meaningless Nod and Hateful smile to Nykans that even bothered to look at him.

It wasn't long till found the large crowd, He knew it was the Fourth Day Market, He needed to stock on provisions, But he wasn't sure that shoving his way through a horde of grumpy Nykans would be wise, But what would they do? Probably call monks if he annoyed them so much, "Disturbing the Peace" they would say, Maybe even a Woman would say "Sexual Assault" Because his body lightly brushed up against hers, No, Nykans aren't friendly.. But they're not Asses, No, They're not, Making up his mind he decided to brave it..

Awful it was, trudging through the crowd, Squeezing between people to get a view at products and Brushing people away saying a very quiet "Excuse Me." Despite the horror of the publicity and embarrassment he managed to buy Nothing. He had forgotten the that nothing of importance was on Sale, No food, No Weapons, Or Decent armor. He couldn't upgrade or buy somethign new or purchase food, It was utterly disappointing and made his way back to the Hostel when something caught his eye, He looked over at the Woman leaving the tent, a fellow foreigner. Was she a Teenager? Just Short? Or a Benshira? Thinking, Turning his head to get different Angles to try and see her eyes. As he tilted his head to the left he thought her eyes glittered for a split second, and now he believed her to be a Benshira. He thought about introducing himself, getting something he can't with Nykan Women, Inviting her to his Lodging. But he stopped himself, It would've been hopeless.. Benshiran Women won't lightly do something like that, If they're single that is. If married then it would have been a blunt Rejection.

Then he looked past her, And at the clothes. Something about the colors made him attracted to them, He had to buy some. So, He started walking towards the tent, Staring at a shirt and matching trousers, They were Red and blue with Golden Trim ad Laces, He'd look like a clown to all but the Nykans.

[The Fourth Day Market] Strange Market Meeting (Carac)

Postby Zenab on July 2nd, 2013, 2:45 pm

Cursing the owner in speedy slurred Shiber, Zenab put her new clothes at her bag. She need to stop comparing Nyka and Yahebah, she didn't come miles away there to missing her hometown. But sometimes she couldn't stand the way Nykans treated her. She took a deep sigh and walked swiftly.

In front of the clothes merchant's tent she found piles of cheerful cages. Colored feathers, soft fur, and shining eyes pulled her. She stopped for awhile and saw the stall, it was a pet store. A slight of wingbeat made her turned. It was a pair of dark raptor with sharp eyes, beaks and talon. Zenab would never mistook it as another raptor, she knew it well. It was desert eagles. Fatham, her younger brother has the very bird of prey just like these two at their house.

"They would not suit you lady. They're fierce"

A girl before the counter put down a sack and turned to her. Nykan, obviously. But at least she didn't look at her with such a loathing like the clothes merchant though she maintaining distance with her.

"They're beautifull"

The merchant saw her with wonder. Howevee, her gaze didn't get much softer. Zenab gave her a slight smile, the merchant might be around her age -- she was young enough, and Zenab could see a sprinkle of appreciation from someone who understood a same picture. She made a simple whistle and a four legged creature with snow white fur hopped to the wooden table. Slim and swift, these furry four legged animal sniffed Zenab with curiosity. Zenab never see the animal before. It has long and lean, some aspect resemble feline with rat like snout. It stare at the desert dweller with round innocent eyes.

"It's called ferret. Good companion, and not hard to master. A good one could learn some good tricks, you know"

The ferret tilted its head as Zenab touch its pure white fur. A moment later, with such a nimble movement it climbed her arm and stood easily at her shoulder, tickling her ear with it's nose. Zenab couldn't resist to jumped a little, but she managed to keep the ferret steady at her shoulder.

"He likes you." The merchant considering for a second and added "watch this".

With a merciless grin, the merchant girl made a graceful.nod towards the elaborate tent few meters away. Zenab surprised by the ferret speed and agility, but she was anticipating it this time and she was able to picture what happened next. The ferret trusted forward like a white lightning and disappeared in the middle of colorful line of clothes. Zenab could saw the owner, he was in the middle of conversation with a man who held a set of red and blue clothes, with golden lashes. She bet he was another foreigner, judging by the look of the owner. Just above the head of the owner, lines of another colorful clothes filled the ceiling. Zenab couldn't help but wonder what would happen next when she catch some movement in the ceiling. A kind of waggling white tail. A second later, with a dull thud, a pile of clothes fell down right to the head of the clothes merchant.

Both the merchant and Zenab couldn't hide her laugh and smiled wide. The white ferret climbed up at the table and tilted his head at Zenab in a cute way. Zenab gave her hand and he climbed up at her shoulder once again. Well, she didn't list a pet on her agenda, but it the little ferret was officially made her day. I think it won't be bad to have a companion

"I'll take him"

She handed down five gold mizas to the merchant and she gave her a brief explanation to take care the ferret. After thanked her, Zenab turned around and walked cheerfully with new companion on her shoulder. She considered to gave him a name, but before she could get a good one, she realize that the foreigner that was shopping at the clothes merchant was walked out of the tent. And she was under impression that he was walked toward her.

[The Fourth Day Market] Strange Market Meeting (Carac)

Postby Carac on July 8th, 2013, 1:45 am

Carac was surprised when the tent collapsed, as anyone would be. He got out of the way, out of there. As fast as he could, Fearing the Clothes merchant would blame him. He looked through the crowd, all nearby people had stopped to stare He was caught by the merchant, He had gotten lucky and was simply asked not to return ever again. Carac simply nodded and, scanning through the crowd spotted A merchant, And a Foreigner. Both were grinning. Had he found the Culprits? It wasn't long till he saw the ferret as well, He started to move towards the stall, But by the time he had reached it the Foreigner was gone. There was only one way she could have gone, Seeing as how Carac was coming up the other way, He was scoping for her, Hunting her, And he didn't really know why, Till he saw her and hesitantly he approached, speaking in a Deep Voice but it wasn't Monotone or Dull, It had Emotion in it, Sarcasm, Joy, and Curiosity. "Only three people would smile and giggle at such a scene. Those that take joy in the misery of others, The worst.. Those that hated the Victim, Or those that outright did it with one smart and Mischievous companion" He glanced at the ferret, His Half-Smile covered by his beard. He was going on a wing, A theory, And he wasn't sure if he was right and the Embarrassment he had to suffer if he was wrong! In a almost Instantaneous conclusion he finished his sentence "Which one are you?" He crossed his arms and raised a eyebrow. Looking down on the little Benshira, Still Half-Smiling, He didn't care which one she was. If at all, He was being friendly - For the most part..

OOCShort post, I know, Take heart though. Its just the beginning of a glorious conversation!
