The Basics
Race: Golden Eagle Kelvic
Gender: Female
Age: 12
Birthday: 13th Summer AV 501
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Human Appearance
Standing at about 5'5" and weighing less than 100 pounds, Saoirse is a slender, lightly muscled female. Her trunk muscles are slightly more muscular, due to her dancing abilities, and she has a flat chest with strong abdomen muscles. As a result of her strong core, she has a very upright carriage and rarely, if ever, slouches. She has small breasts, and very little womanly shape to her features. Her hair is long, typically worn down and the same color as her feathers. Her eyes golden brown and extremely reminiscent of her eagle form with only slight changes from human to eagle. Her gaze is often unblinking and piercing and she gives people the impression that she is staring them down, perhaps even to eat them. If wearing baggy clothing (which she rarely does), Saoirse could pass as a young, prepubescent boy. She appears to be in her late twenties to early thirties when not mistaken for a young boy, and wears the bare minimum in terms of clothing. Typically only a bra and a pair of loose pants. Saoirse has heavy scarring on her upper torso, mainly on her breasts and along her left ribs as well as along her stomach.
Animal Appearance
In eagle form, Saoirse is on the smaller side, weighing about six pounds with a wingspan of slightly under six feet. She has brown feathers and piercing golden eyes. Her talons are incredibly long and sharp and she uses them to great advantage when fighting in her animal form. The scarring in her human form is present in white scars along her underside.

History
Her life was never easy. Born in Wind Reach to Kelvic guards, Saoirse (Briena) quickly learned how to fight and how to fight hard. Punished at a young age for too soundly beating an Inarta child, Briena's parents immediately sent her to a dance master and a trainer in order to make her suitable for guardianship. Once her impulses were tamed, Briena was sold to a traveling Inarta family who needed a guardian and companion for their daughter Nia.
Briena (Dancer) quickly became a cherished friend and companion to Nia and often attended dance lessons. However, Dancer's desire to help her young friend took a foul turn when the two girls went out on an evening excursion. Nia had been begging for training in fighting and Dancer obliged, however, this was a poor decision. Attacked in an alleyway, Dancer obtained heavy wounds on her chest, ribcage, and along her stomach. Scars remain there today. Nia was killed in the attack over a few gold mizas and when Dancer came to, she wept over her friend. Her Inartan family held her responsible and sold her immediately. They happened to be in Ravok at the time.
Purchased by a strict woman named Nadene, Dancer (Dancing Maid) grew to maturity under her watchful eye. Nadene was a cold woman who had but one soft spot, and that was for her son, Nahaen. When the well trained Kelvic bonded to her son, she began to treat the girl like her daughter-in-law, which Dancing Maid (Saoirse) would become in time. As the years passed in Zeltiva with Nahaen at the University, Saoirse became more and more enraptured with her bondmate and Nahaen with her. It wasn't long before they had progressed their relationship to a new level and became lovers. Eventually, they were wed and Saoirse became Nadene's daughter-in-law, a true member of the family.
On Saoirse's birthday, however, tragedy once again struck. Their simple house was raided by thieves and Saoirse awoke to her husband's screams (and the emotions traveling through their bonds). She killed the men who were beating her husband and rushed him to a Healer. Regrettably, it was too late. Saoirse knew before they told her it was too late, she already felt like she had hacked out a piece of her soul. Weeping, she brought Nahaen's body back to Ravok for the funeral. Shunned by Nadene, Saoirse was not allowed to attend and was sent back to Zeltiva where she sold their house and most of their belongings, keeping only the puppy that Nahaen had bought for her to appease her pleas for companionship while Nahaen was at work at the University.

Character Concept
Pre-Bonding
As a youth, Saoirse was aggressive, but in a more playful manner. She tended to play a bit too roughly for some of the children and often she had to be watched closely. Her parents were lax with discipline and thus, she was often free to do as she wished which led to an almost spoiled demeanor. As she matured, her aggression remained, but the playfulness began to disappear. She became intense and prone to fighting. Prior to being purchased as a guard for an Inarta family, she was wild and difficult to tame with dangerous mood swings that left many of her playmates seriously injured.
As she began her training as a fighter and dancer, she became more disciplined and began to settle down. She retained much of her ferocity as well as her fighting spirit, but channeled it into more productive areas such as dance and working on her fighting skills. When she was sold as a guard to her Inarta family, she was devoted to her job and to her family and proved to be an excellent guard. She was serious, loyal, and dedicated to a fault. She was also highly observant and very protective.
After the attack on her family which left her with deep emotional and physical scarring, she became flightier, prone to abandoning others to their fate if the fight was no longer a guaranteed win. She was less likely to seek out fights and became more defensive, only retaliating if she was certain she could win the battle. She developed an anxiety disorder during this time and was known for bolting during combat, making her a fairly useless guard.
When she was sold to Nadene as an assassin, the woman became the bane of her existence. Much of Saoirse's aggression and rebellious attitude returned, especially since she was now nearing her teenage years. No longer was she the easily molded youth, instead she was an aggressive, rebellious teenager who had discovered that the only outlet for her anger was fighting. Haunted by the memories of her past, she poured this hurt into becoming the guard she had been. Nadene's strict rules and the enforcement of them made her bitter, but also returned to her the discipline that had been lost.

Post Bonding
With Nahaen
When Nahaen came into her life, she was instantly influenced by his personality. Nahaen was a studious boy who lived by a strict moral and ethical code. In his presence, she was influenced to dress properly, attempt to learn how to read (a pursuit she was never successful in), and developed a sudden interest in magical pursuits. Nahaen, a master in Alchemy and Animation began to develop fighting urges, which were further cultivated when he asked Saoirse to teach him how to fight in unarmed combat and to show him her dagger work. The two developed a passion for each other's interests and spent most of their time together, learning either independently or training together. Therefore, when Saoirse accompanied Nahaen to Zeltiva, she often accompanied him to class, acting as his guard, but in reality Nahaen could never deny her requests to go with him to class.
Nahaen also found his morals on a decline as Saoirse began to influence him. She found no shame in being naked most of the time around her bonded and as she matured and grew he found himself developing an increasing attraction to her. When he wooed her to bed, it was no surprise to anyone. As they developed an increasingly romantic and loving bond, they were rarely seen apart, Nahaen taking special care to spend nurture the buds of learning in Saoirse's mind. Though she had been trained quite rigorously prior to this, she had never been spent as much attention with as she was with Nahaen.

Without Nahaen
Following Nahaen's death, Saoirse became immediately more prone to her animalistic instincts. It hurt to much to embrace her humanity and so she lost most of the gains she had made under Nahaen's tutelage. She stopped learning, ceased all interest in magical pursuits, and embraced her inner Eagle. She spent the vast majority of her time doing one of three things: flying, fighting, or crying. She became intensely depressed and suicidal, contemplating how much easier it would be to simply follow Nahaen to the grave. However, she refused to give up so easily and instead began to pour more and more of her energies into fighting.
In short, Saoirse became a survivor. She took what comforts she could, sold what little possessions that Nahaen and given her, and tried to remember how to be independent. She had been bonded for so long that it was nearly impossible for her to remember how to be that way. She had to relearn how to fend for herself, had to find a job (which she eventually did) and she had to learn how to live day in and day out without Nahaen, the love of her life. Dedicating much of her time to fighting, Saoirse finally decided that she needed to leave Zeltiva. She sold the house, took a boat back to Ravok, and began to search for somewhere to settle down.
