David woke up in his bed within his humble home. Rubbing his eyes he yawned before rolling on out of bed. His wound had healed over rather nicely thanks to the efforts of the doctors at the healing center. David set about his daily morning ritual which always started with breakfast. He set up at his small table and sat down after he had gotten food out. He began to quickly eat the small breakfast meal so that he could get on with the day. After having finished his meal he walked over to his chest to retrieve his armor, because today like many other days he would be on the look out for work.
Upon opening the chest he grabbed his Studded Leather Armor and examined it. The armor was good and all but it was not good enough to keep a determined bandit from slashing at his side it would seem."Perhaps work can wait." he said to him self as he sat the armor on his bed. He had been saving up some coin, perhaps now was a good time to spend some of it. After putting both the Studded Leather Armor and skull cap in his backpack he headed for the door.
When David opened the door he was met with the freezing air Avanthal, it was particularity cold day. He had lived in Avanthal all his life so he was kind of used to the cold, though he knew that it probably wasn't good for him. Perhaps it was also time for him to buy some warmer clothing so that he wouldn't freeze. After closing the door behind him he went off to find a tailor to buy some clothing that is better suited for Avanthal.
David walked through the snowy streets of Avanthal until he spotted a local tailor. After kicking off some snow onto the doormats he entered the building. A Vantha woman looked up from a book she was reading."Ah welcome !" she said in an excited tone as she got up from her chair."What can I do for you ?" she asked with a smile as she walked up to David."I need some warmer clothes then what I currently own." he said to the tailor who was now looking him over."Yes, I can see that." she said a pause."Looking for anything in particular ?" she asked getting out her measurement tools."No not really." he said scratching the back of his head."No problem, I will see what I can do." she said as she started measuring him.
After a few measurements she walked out of the room only to return with a bundle of clothes."Try these on in the changing room." she said handing him the bundle of clothes."A cape ?" he asked as he inspected the clothes."Trust me, I think it will look great on you." she said with a smirk before pointing David towards the changing room. Upon entering the changing room David began to change into the clothes the Vantha woman had handed him. The Vantha woman had given him a fine wool hood, a pair of fine wool gloves, a fine wool half cape, a fine wool jacket, a fine wool undergarment, a fine wool shirt, a fine wool scarf, and fine wool breeches.
After putting on the clothes David looked in a mirror for a bit to see if he liked the clothes. He had to admit the cape made him look almost respectable, though he wasn't sure if it would hinder combat or not. After thinking it over for a few minutes David had decided that he would be getting the cape. Once he stepped out of the changing room he was met by the Vantha woman who was eagerly waiting for his opinion."I like these clothes." he said to the tailor who smiled in response."Good, now let us go over the price." she said getting out a piece of paper to calculate the final price. The fine wool hood is worth 15 copper Miza, the fine wool pair of gloves is worth 1 gold Miza and 5 silver Miza, the fine wool half cape is worth 3 gold Miza, the fine wool jacket is worth 18 silver Miza, the fine wool undergarment is worth 3 silver Miza, the fine wool shirt is worth 3 silver Miza, the fine wool scarf is worth 3 silver Miza, and the fine wool breeches are worth 2 gold Miza and 4 silver Miza.
After calculating the total for a moment the tailor looked up to David."Your total comes out to 9 gold Miza 6 Silver Miza 15 Copper Miza." she said with a smile. David gave a nod before handing her the required money."Have a nice day." he said with a smile before leaving the tailor's shop. David was now going to the black smith he had run guard duty not to long ago.
Upon finding the black smith's store he entered and approached the front counter."Just one moment !" a rather irritated sounding blacksmith yelled from the back room. A large stack of swords with the black smith's brand on the hilt of the blade where behind the counter. The swords were most likely meant for the strange hooded man who they had met not long ago. The blacksmith came out from the back room and approached the counter."Ah David Arnim, what can I do for you ?" he said to David who put his back pack on the counter."I am here to both sell and buy armor." he said to the blacksmith who started going through the pack. After examining the contents of the pack for a moment the blacksmith looked back up to David."They are used." he said with a pause."I'll give you 18gm 7sm 5cm for the Studded Leather armor and 7gm 5sm for the skull cap." the blacksmith said crossing his arms. After thinking for a moment David gave a nod."Sounds good to me." he said as the Blacksmith gave him the offered price."Now you said you wished to buy some armor as well ?" the black smith asked while putting away the armor David had sold him.
David gave a nod to the Vantha Blacksmith."Yes, I would like to buy chain mail armor, a great helm, and a padded tabard." he said to the blacksmith who gave a nod."I will need to perform a few basic measurements just to make sure I get something that fits you." he said as he walked up to David with a measuring tool. After measuring David he gave a nod and went to the back room. After a moment of searching the black smith came out of the back room holding the armor that David had requested."Now none of this will fit you exactly, but it should fit you well enough." he said putting the armor on the table. The chain mail armor is worth 150 gold mizas, the greathelm is worth 30 gold mizas, and the padded tabard is worth 15 gold mizas."Your total comes out to be 195 gold mizas." he said to David who gave a slight nod."Here you go." he said giving the blacksmith 196 gold mizas."Thank you and have a cold and good day." the black smith said taking the money.
After having bought the armor David started to make his way back to his cottage through the snowy streets. After dropping off his old clothes he would set about looking for some work like every other day. |
