AppearanceRace: Inarta
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Birthday: 22 Autumn 487AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Caste: Avora
Appearance: Anaya sports the firey red hair typical of the Inarta, though she keeps hers cropped very short (and usually in varying stages of disarray). She refuses the wrapped braid that has become so common amongst her colleagues, insisting that it only serves to get in the way. And a glass-worker can't afford to have things getting in the way. In lieu of the braid, she bears a single piercing in her left ear. From it, hangs a delicately etched glass feather. Across it's hand – etched surface is depicted, in intricate detail, the fall of the Orika and the rise of the Wind Eagles. There is no mate; only the one earring. And as Anaya has seen nothing quite like it in Skyinarta, she has made it a life goal to learn the secrets and techniques of complex craftsmanship - she desires these secrets nearly as much as she longs to know the companionship and partnership that the Endal enjoy.
Character Concept (and a bit of History)Born of a Dek mother and unknown father, Anaya was one of the lucky youth who, by the grace of a steady hand and a quick mind, was able to progress quickly beyond her born caste. Gifted with music and art from an early age, Anaya made extra money (in what little free time she was allotted) by busking around the commons. Children in particular loved to hear her play her flute, or listen to her regail them with stories of Inarta lore. And luckily for her, rider's children tend to be very spoiled. Just a few months before her 13th birthday she was able to persuade a local glass-worker (with a hefty sum of hard earned Mizas and Pinions) to take her on as an apprentice. Amazingly, she excelled at crafting glass just as well as she did at crafting melodies – even going as far as to merge the two in a beautiful orgasm of innovation. In a moment of spastic genius, Anaya created and perfected a technique for creating glass flutes, who's melodies are so haunting that they are said to call the dead back to life. Many of her fellow glass-workers begged to allow them buy her process from her. Some even requested to apprentice under her, but all Ana could do was smile and say, “The winds sang the images into my head. If you cannot understand the wind then you will not understand the technique. How can I teach you the song, if you do not know the meaning of the words? You wouldn't understand.” With such an accomplishment, her position with in the Kiln, and Wind Reach was assured. Now in her spare time Ana plays for fun, and no longer for money... unless of course a random passerby were to feel so inclined?
