Race: Inarta
Caste: Avora
Gender: Male
Age: Fourteen
Birthday: 32nd, Autumn, 498 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Basic Appearance: Zevi is quite small, even by Inarta standards, barely breaching 5'4", and weighing 129 lbs. Despite that, he has a physique that promises the growth of lean muscle, though he has yet to grow into it. His skin, like all Inarta, is pale though he only boasts freckles in scattered clusters over the backs of his shoulders, and these are usually hidden by his hair. While it is cut jagged at the front, flaring backwards in spikes easily reminiscent of an eagle's feathers, the back is long. Cut thin to keep it light, Zevi's hair (a deep red that is almost orange) tumbles almost to his hips in distinct lengths, again similar to an eagle's plummage. When he's at the kiln (or doing any kind of work that involves fire hazards), he ties it up with a string of scrap leather, gathering it into a jagged ponytail down his back to help keep it from igniting. Zevi's eyes are a hazy gold-green in colour, with flecks of hot yellow.
Racial Accessories: On the left side of his head, starting at his temple and falling to his shoulder blade, Zevi has a thick braid woven through with a dark orange ribbon. From the end of this hangs two glass feathers stained dark red (almost black) and an assortment of tiny glass beads, all varying shades of red. Much tinier braids are threaded through the shorter front of his hair, each culminating with a glass bead of either white or black stain, save for a couple of braids that have little blue glass jays attached. Zevi also has a red and black patterned glass bar shaped like a raptor talon pierced through the outer edge of his right eyebrow.
Character Concept Zevi is perhaps a little odd for an Inarta boy; he is significantly quieter than most, though he gets along well enough with most everybody. He is generally polite - not because he tempers his words, but because he is kind by nature and rarely feels he has reason to be untoward. If, however, given reason he is just as harsh and volatile as others of his race. Though he has never been known to initiate such activities, if invited to a contest of wit, strength, or other attribute organised by other boys, he will readily accept, though he also loses often. Because of this contradiction - his being less than boisterous while surrounded by a society that has more than once been catagorised as 'stupidly brave' - Zevi spends a lot more time sneaking around than his fellows, especially when it comes to his habit of observing the sky nigh on constantly. The rare times he isn't thinking about the sky, he's almost always working with glass - something that he enjoys and excels at greatly, even by Inarta standards. All of this means that Zevi is fairly soft-spoken, even when he's being honest (which is always), and while he is of course not afraid of pitting himself against his fellows, he does not usually actively seek out such competition. Because of his somewhat gentler nature, he is much easier to take advantage of than most Inarta, often taking on too many tasks for the convenience of closer friends or his master. Though he is an apprentice glassworker, Zevi's dream (like most of the Inarta) is to become an Endal, and to this end he visits the Eagle Aeries as often as he can (though this isn't very). This also means that he attends the fledglings ready to bond whenever he gets the chance.
Character History Zevi was born to a Chiet woman, whom he lived with until he was eight years old. His father is, his mother tells him, an Endal who happened to find her comely enough to bed for a night, though they never formed any official affiliation. His childhood was fairly normal, though perhaps he did a touch more exploring than scuffling, which led him to be able to sneak around with more stealth than his brethren - avoiding friendly combat was necessary when he was observing the star patterns or (later on) carrying glass from place to place. He is one of three children born of the same coupling, though he has never gotten along well with his obnoxiously outspoken sister. His brother treats him like just another boy their age, sometimes inviting him to games they've organised, sometimes leaving him to his own devices, and Zevi likes it fine that way. He feels no special attachment to his siblings just because they are his siblings - after all, family means little in Inarta society. When he came of age and began to learn independence, completing Bendi with all the other children in his age group, he quickly found an aptitude for glassworking. By the time he was twelve, he had been selected by a master glassworker for apprenticeship, and has worked under his master ever since. Though not yet skilled enough to become a glassworker in his own right, Zevi is gifted enough in the area that his work is already relatively well-known throughout Wind Reach - at least by those his own age.

A mews and two-piece hood for Alisto.
Heirloom: A female nankeen kestrel, given to him as a training bird, named Alisto.
(She has a bad habit of following him everywhere he goes, even when directed to stay home, but she follows his other orders well enough, even occasionally carrying small items in her talons for him. Alisto is reasonably dextrous as well as agile, able to navigate Wind Reach even at top speed.) She was given to him as a hatchling when he turned eight, and was moved into the Yasi Quarter. Zevi raised her, enduring many a tantrum on the bird's part, and now six years old, she is healthy, well-cared for and (on occasion) spoiled. Whilst she has become very loyal and protective of Zevi, she is still temperamental, and Zevi tends to hood her when she's not performing tasks for him. Despite that, she still manages to find him when he doesn't lock her in her mews.
Housing Location: Darniva Commonrooms, next door to Zevi's master.
House: Zevi's personal space is a simple, one-room affair, boasting a bunk accompanied by a feather duvet; a chest placed at the end of the bunk, in which Zevi stores all clothing items he is not currently wearing alongside any supplies he may keep for his bird; and on the far side of the room, a desk and chair, upon which stands a perch for Alisto and various scattered birdkeeping supplies, usually including his Sontav. He leaves his backpack in one corner when it's not in use.
