Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Malla grinned a bit at how Jorin's face turned red and waved her fingers at Duce when he looked to her. Oh, if he was going to have to 'act' to not get in trouble for helping Duce out, she could already imagine that wouldn't go well. Though it would probably be entertaining to watch...She chewed her lip, trying to decide if she should watch or simply go back to, well, being lost. Again.

"Ah, hello Malla! Umm, well you see, there's a perfectly good explanation for this! Just ... I haven't come up with one yet. I mean, greetings my good lady! Perhaps you could assist ... oh petch it all, we need a little help here."

She looked to Jorin when he did speak to her and smiles, "There's always an explanation, I know," before she simply raised a brow at being asked help, silently asking how. When the man looks to Duce, she presses her lips together, barely keeping herself from laughing and pointing out that some might still question it. After a moment, though, she composed her face once more an titled her head at the ma's next question.

"... don't suppose you'd like the part of leading lady in our little drama? Because we will probably need an excuse to leave after we dump our unfortunate friend here. Nothing like a ladyfriend of Duce here pulling him away for that! ... please?," she heard Jorin ask, which was then soon followed by the same request from Duce. That was certainly unexpected; both of them asking for her help, that is.

The Konti chewed her lip then shrugged, "I should just watch you two do what you will...but I think you're both nice enough, so why not. Besides, you asked nicely." She looked to he passed out guard, sighing at the bumps on his head, then looked back to the two men, "So, what exactly do you want me to do?"

"Wait what are you doing back here anyways?"

Malla shook her head as she watched the guard drop to the ground. Jorin and Duce probably didn't need to worry about him knowing who knocked him out, since, it rather seemed, the poor man would have amnesia from how many times he had to have been hit on the head."Could have at least kept his bucket hat on for protection. But at least you know he won't wake up anytime soon...you hope.." She glanced up from the guard on the ground and shrugged at Duce's question, "I could ask you the same thing, even though it's entirely obvious. But, myself, i was getting lost because most Akalak are useless with directions unless it's to their house." Which reminded her, she still wanted to see if there was a way to be able to hit an Akalak, if she did help. Well, the time would come for that or so she rather hoped.

Jorin watched in amused horror as Duce dropped the poor guard's head on the ground ... again.

"Woah, hey there Duce, we don't want to be giving him permanent head trauma now." he cautioned with a grin, checking the man's head for any signs of cracks or fractures. It seemed ok, despite the welts, but this man was definitely going to be waking with a roaring headache. And maybe missing a few key memories.

With that, Jorin slapped the bucket back onto the guard's head. Might as well give it some protection. Then he turned to Malla.

"Well, I don't know what to do about your problems with Akalaks and directions, but as for your other question, please, listen to my brilliant plan!" Jorin accidentally dropped the guard's head as he was gesticulating, and it and its bucket helmet collided with the ground, creating a sort of hollow "pop" sound. Jorin paid it no mind.

"So the idea is, we grab Sleepy here, we drag him into the Blue Bull, we hang around a bit to make it look like it's some kind of guard initiation, and then you come in and drag Duce here away, pretending to be his girlfriend! Or ... something like that ... I haven't really worked out all the details."

Jorin tapped a finger to his chin. "Hey maybe we can help each other out! I mean, since you needed to get somewhere, and all. I'm not that familiar with this city, but I'm sure Duce here is! Or at least ... I'm pretty sure ..."

Jorin leaned in and whispered to Duce, "Err, you are familiar with the city, right?"

"I could ask you the same thing, even though it's entiely obvious. But, myself, I was getting lost because most Akalak are useless with directions unless it is to their house."

She had a good point. Most Akalak craved anything that was female and stupid enough to give into their idiotic comments. He took a deep breath wandering what time it was. "Whoa, Hey Duce, we don't want to be giving him permanent head trauma now." Jorin said letting the guard fall as well. Duse smiled even though he most likely killed a guard and pulled a Human and Konti into his poblem this was actually pretty fun.

"So the idea is, we grab Sleepy here, we drag him into the Blue Bull, we hang around a bit to make it look like it's some kind of guard initiation, and then you come in and drag Duce here away, pretending to be his girlfriend! Or ... something like that ... I haven't really worked out all the details." It was a petty nice plan, but then again who says that Malla would be up to petending to be his girl friend. He looked up at the Konti that he had met at the garden as she stood watching them.

"Hey maybe we can help each other out! I mean, since you needed to get somewhere, and all. I'm not that familiar with this city, but I'm sure Duce here is! Or at least ... I'm pretty sure ...Err, you are familiar with the city, right?" What!...How did he get pulled into giving direction? Then again he did need the help. [color=#4000FF]"Yea..I can get you to where you need to be...I will personally take you there myself."

Malla leaned a bit against the wall as she watched Jorin put the bucket back on the man's head. Well, that was something at least. It also helped it didn't seem that the man was dead form being dropped on his head so many times, which sounded lucky for both Duce and Jorin. She wasn't sure how well it would go over for them if the man didn't wake up. Yes, at this point, she still figured she could claim to be an innocent bystander.

"Well, I don't know what to do about your problems with Akalaks and directions, but as for your other question, please, listen to my brilliant plan!" The Konti raised a brow at Jorin's obvious confidence in his plan, but kept quiet to listen none the less. She glanced to the man who's head was on the ground again, before back to Jorin, really starting to wonder why he used all those hand gestures when he was speaking common.

She sighed a bit once he finished and asked, "Brilliant but you haven't thought it all through just yet? Well, besides that small bit, it should work. But what about you? If I come in and 'drag' Duce away...do you just stay or do you run off yourself? She chewed her lip, glancing up to the sky, as she thought and half listened to the next words exchanged. If Jorin didn't have an idea for what to do with himself...she could, possibly, drag both away. Of course she realized any dragging would have to be willing, especially when it came to Duce seeing as he was much taller than her. How that would work....she wasn't sure. If she was pretending to be...connected...to the Akalak in some way, what reason would she need to take Jorin as well.

After a few moments, she blinked and looked to the two men, realizing that whatever they had said involved her. Quickly she ran the words she had half-heard through her head, before sighing. "I don't see why not. Probably will be safer to get directions," she put emphasis on the word as she didn't much want to be walked to the gate; she could follow directions just fine, "from you, Duce, than anyone else."

Jorin shrugged expansively. "Well, I did say I hadn't worked out the details," he explained with a grin. "But yes, I'm not entirely sure what I would do. Maybe I'll recite some of my poetry! That always gets me thrown out of a tavern right quick!"

He was glad Malla was willing though. It would be much easier to pull this off if he didn't have to worry about how Duce was going to get out of it. He noticed with amusement how Malla seemed unimpressed with Duce's offer to guide her to her destination himself, instead emphasizing once more that she only wanted directions. He could see her frustration with Akalak direction-giving already.

"Oh come on, what's the worst that could happen? Here, Duce, get his legs, I'll grab his head since I'm here already. Blue Bull shouldn't be too far from here." Jorin tossed Malla a friendly wink. "I'll be looking for your act soon, Malla!" he said as he grunted with the effort of lifting the guard's head, bucket and all.

"Brilliant but you haven't thought it all through just yet? Well, besides that small bit, it should work. But what about you? If I come in and 'drag' Duce away...do you just stay or do you run off yourself?

Malla had a good point. Jorin's plan was fool proof, but only would get Malla and himself out of the tavern. How would he get out? Duce could grab ahold of him pretending that he was trying to stay, and would just pull him out, but that still would rainse supicion if it looked too willing. He was stumped. If he couldn't get Jorin out, then this whole thing would just cause more problems for the both of them.

"Well, I did say I hadn't worked out the details," he explained with a grin. "But yes, I'm not entirely sure what I would do. Maybe I'll recite some of my poetry! That always gets me thrown out of a tavern right quick!"

Duce laughed. He had heared stories of a human male causing a ruckus, but didn't think that it would be Jorin. He leaned back against the wall watching the guard who was sleeping like a baby for any signs of him waking up while the others worked out the kinks in Jorins plan.

"I don't see why not. Probably will be safer to get directions, from you, Duce, than anyone else."

He still couln't believe that he had went from bounty hunter to city guid in a matter of chimes. How did he get himself into these messes? But..a deal was a deal. She helps him out and he gives her directions. DIdn't she have a map? Why not use it. Taking a deep breath and putting his complaints in a mental file, he looked back up to the two to see what was decided.

"Oh come on, what's the worst that could happen? Here, Duce, get his legs, I'll grab his head since I'm here already. Blue Bull shouldn't be too far from here."

"Well we could mess this whole thing up and end up dead in the worse case scenerio, or Malla could decide not to lend a hand and we would be screwed.". Duce teased walking back over to the guard too pick him up once again. Before picking up the body, Duce checked the guards pockets taking out enough mizas to buy a pint of ale. "Just in case we need to make this seem more realistic.". He said putting the money in his pocket seprate from his own and lifting the guard up and putting his arm around the guards shoulders. "Ready?"

"I'll be looking for your act soon, Malla!"

Jorin said, Duce hoping that she would show up as he started to walk out from behind the alley as if he were drunk. He never acted before, nor gotten drunk, but he was going to give this all he had.

"Poetry? Well, if you're sure it'll work...," she replied to Jorin, unconvinced. She listened to the two as they spoke, shaking her head a bit.

"Oh come on, what's the worst that could happen?"

"Well we could mess this whole thing up and end up dead in the worse case scenerio, or Malla could decide not to lend a hand and we would be screwed."

At Jorin's words, and after Duce's reply, she murmured, "Or the man with the bucket could wake up and start screaming or fighting..."

Oh, why did she have to not take a map today of all days? She could already see this ending badly, and in more ways than mentioned. Someone would notice something and suddenly someone would get dragged off to who knew where. Well, she could, in theory, always break down crying...that might work. Though, the real question was: was this going against her whole amends process or with it? If it was going against it that meant she would have a lot more to make up for before she could go home.

"Ready?"

"I'll be looking for your act soon, Malla!"

The words from both Duce and Jorin caused her to look up and nod. "Just give me some...obvious signal..otherwise you two might have a small problem," she replied and would make sure to stand someplace that she could watch the two for either a signal or a place that made sense for her to 'drag' the huge Akalak away. Oh, if anyone would believe she could do that, the only witnesses would have to be drunk.

"Just give me some...obvious signal..otherwise you two might have a small problem," Malla was saying.

Jorin's eyes grew wide. "Oh petch, I didn't think of that! Right a signal umm ... err ... let's see umm, maybe when I flap my arm and ... no that wouldn't work. Oh! How about when Duce slaps me on the back of the head? Like as though I asked a dumb question?"

Jorin grinned. It shouldn't be hard to trigger such a headslap. He had a talent for asking questions that invited such head-slaps. At least everyone in his troupe had said so!

"Ready?" Duce had asked. Jorin beamed. "Oh yeah! Let's get this party started!" Grabbing the guard, whom Jorin had decided to dub "Buckethead", by the shoulders, he lifted the man with Duce and they awkwardly carried them to the Blue Bull, passing by several very curious onlookers. Jorin called on his acting skills, joking with Duce all the way, passing the odd sight off as a hazing ritual, or a really elaborate prank.

"I swear, Duce, if he throws up on me it's coming out of your pay," he joked as they walked into the bar. That was where the plan started to go a bit sideways.

"Hello and ... wait, Jorin is that you? How many times do I have to tell you we can't have you disturbing our guests?"

The proprietor of the Blue Bull loomed over Jorin imposingly. Jorin grinned back sheepishly.

"Uhh, well look, we've got our friend here and he's new to the Guards and I figured that him and a mutual friend we'd come in for a few laughs. He'd had one too many. Ok maybe more than one too many..."

The proprietor raised an unbelieving eyebrow. "The last time I swallowed a sob story of yours, I ended up having to clear up a barfight. That you started!"

Jorin gave a nervous chuckle, glancing at Duce helplessly. This wasn't going the way he planned. "Oh come on you can't blame me for that! They were already pushing and shoving I just ... integrated their theatrics into my show! It's not my fault they can't handle a good-natured jibe..."

The proprietor just loomed some more. Silently. Jorin gulped.

"Uhhhh ... nice ... candles you have in here ...?" he tried lamely. He hoped Duce would slap him over the head for that. Anything to end this scene. He had to get out of there.

"Or the man with the bucket could wake up and start screaming or fighting..."

Duce didn't think of that. What if bucket head did wake up. He would have to knock him out again. Hopefully no one would see, but they would have to deal with it if the situation came. Maybe they could drop him and run before he noticed who they were.

"Just give me some...obvious signal..otherwise you two might have a small problem,"

"Oh petch, I didn't think of that! Right a signal umm ... err ... let's see umm, maybe when I flap my arm and ... no that wouldn't work. Oh! How about when Duce slaps me on the back of the head? Like as though I asked a dumb question?"

Duce laughed out at Jorin's comment of him slapping the human in the head. Duce looked at his hand comparing it's size to Jorin's head. If he were to slap the human too hard he may as well break his neck. He guessed that he would have to hold back enough not seriously hurt Jorin, but hard enough to make it seem real. This plan was getting more complicated by the second. The human and Konti finally finished working the kinks of the plan and they moved out dragging the unconcious guard out into the street toward the Blue Bull.

"I swear, Duce, if he throws up on me it's coming out of your pay,"

Duce chuckled at Jorin's joke as they continued their walk until another voice stopped them as they enterd the tavern.

"Hello and ... wait, Jorin is that you? How many times do I have to tell you we can't have you disturbing our guests?"

Duce didn't know who this person was, or how he and Jorin knew each other, but if bucket head woke up, things would get ugly...fast. Duce watched the guard as Jorin held his conversation.

"Uhh, well look, we've got our friend here and he's new to the Guards and I figured that him and a mutual friend we'd come in for a few laughs. He'd had one too many. Ok maybe more than one too many..."

"The last time I swallowed a sob story of yours, I ended up having to clear up a barfight. That you started!"

Duce was surprised at the man's words. Jorin...start a fight? Now he would pay to see that. He was now into the conversation listening for more about the fight.

"Oh come on you can't blame me for that! They were already pushing and shoving I just ... integrated their theatrics into my show! It's not my fault they can't handle a good-natured jibe...Uhhhh ... nice ... candles you have in here ...?"

Duce noticed the awkward tone in Jorin's voice signaling Duce that he was running out of things to say. Duce stepped in to help his new friend. Since he was taller than the Akalak, he went for the intimidation method. "Don't worry. I'm here and will make sure that Jorin will not start any trouble.". He made himself seem taller than he already was over the Akalak making him move out of the way taking Duce's word.

Duce with the help of Jorin dragged the unconcious guard to the counter and began his act. "Ayoooo! Haha good job old chap. 10 drinks...Well you beat my record of drinking ale in one chime...and least abount of second until crashing into a bucket. Haha. Another ale for bucket head!" Duce said taking the guards money out of his pocket and slaming it on the countertop. Duce had done his part, or as much as he could, now it was all up to Jorin to finish it, and Malla to save them. He pretended to be drunk humming tunes and swaying back and forth.

Malla simply nodded at the man's suggestion, "Alright. Hit on back of the head and I come in." She feel silent then, watching the two start to head off, trailing a bit after them and watching them go inside the building. She soon moved to stand so that she could see in one of the windows, but so that she wouldn't look too awkward, she stopped a human-looking woman.

"Ah, Miss, any chance you know the way to the gates? I think I managed to get myself lost and I do not have a map..." She smiled shyly to the woman, keeping the windows of the Blue Bull in the corner of her eyes. She frowned lightly as it seemed the two were speaking to someone...and the man didn't seem happy by how he was standing...

She nodded to the woman as she replied, with a tone that suggested she thought Malla was a bit not there in the head, "Right down the road...you can see it form here..," before she walked off. The Konti looked back over her shoulder, sighing. Of course it was right there. She easily decided it was the fact there were so many buildings. She must've confused it for another. Yes...that was it...

She looked back to the tavern, seeing that Duce and Jorin had moved to a counter then went to stop another person to ask for directions to some random place. She needed some reason for standing outside the place so she wouldn't look suspicious.
