Garush Saltspray Appearance Race: Human - Svefra Gender: Male Age: 56 Birthday: 32, Summer, 457 AV Birthplace: Suvan Sea Appearance: Garush Saltspray, in his youth, was quite the handsome man, with keen blue eyes, wavy golden hair, a strong muscular body and golden, tanned skin. He had a quick and handsome smile, which he would flash for any woman in range. Now, in his advancing years, his hair has gone white, his skin leathery from the wind and water, and his once keen eyes watery with time. One of his eyes (specifically his left one) has been replaced with a glass eye, courtesy of his old adventuring days. He is still quite muscular though; advancing years has done little to slow the "Old Saltspray" down. As he is quick to remind the "stupid kids", Old Saltspray can still throw down with the best of them. Gnosis Garrush was born with Laviku's Mark, like many Svefra. He feels the ocean deep in his bones, and does not stray far from it. The lighthouse may be his shelter, but the ocean will always be his home. Tavan Garrush met Krabby the Crab when he was fishing in the salt waters off the coast of Riverfall. The Crab was as ornery as him, refusing to let go of his line no matter how much Garush tried to disentangle it. The two, it seemed, came to a great understanding, and nowadays Krabby scuttles about the general vicinity of the Lighthouse, always waving his claws at "intruders", and in general, being as crabby as his partner. Character Concept Garush can be described as a crusty, salty old Svefra sea dog. Born to Svefra pirates, he had always been interested in adventure, and as soon as he was old enough (around sixteen), he took a small casinor and set out on his own, hitting every port city he could. For the first twenty or so years of his life, Garush did this, going from city to city, getting into barfights, bedding local women, and living it up. During his time in Zeltiva, he'd encountered a mage, and, during the fight, had been accidentally initiated in the art of Reimancy when the man tried to drown Garush with Water Reimancy. Garush, with his usual tact, thanked his erstwhile benefactor by smashing a bottle over his head. He had his share of close shaves and near-misses, including one particularly violent episode that cost him an eye. Garush did not let it slow him down. The Saltspray pod was strong. After Garush received a near-fatal stabbing when he was thirty eight, he settled down in the city of Kenash for recovery. The injury was severe enough that he was forced to sell his boat to pay for the cost of care, something he has been bitter about ever since. A Svefra without a boat was no Svefra at all. Once he had recuperated, Garush found work as a lighthouse keeper, maintaining the light for other sailors to enter the harbor safely. He is quite jealous of his lighthouse, seeing it as almost a replacement for his much-lamented boat. Now a crusty old man, Garush rarely smiles and wears an angry frown most of the time. As far as he can tell, these stupid dynasty kids don't know how good they have it. And they better stay off his blasted lighthouse!
