This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Disrobing, the young man threw the coat on the back of a chair, rolled up his sleeves and combed fingers through his hair. Closing and locking the door behind him, Jed made his way toward his equipment with a bundle of roses. Wasting no time, he set his materials aside headed toward the kettle of water he left a few chimes ago, satisfied to note that it was at a boil. Carefully, he lifted it by its handle and poured slowly into the large column of the alembic. At the 2/3 mark, he tilted it back and set the kettle aside before repositioning the alembic over the heat. He closed the column, then opened the ending at the top as he dragged the basket of flowers across the counter. Gently, he then stuffed the column as well as the onion dome with as many roses as he could fit and still have enough space for the steam to spiral through. After each component was properly stuffed, he closed the column and attached the same end to the dome. Jed then fit the pipes to the condenser bucket and arranged it so that the condenser bucket was sitting at a lower level from the component containing the boiling water by placing it on a table. Due to the height difference, he was able to rest a beaker of cold water over the condenser, allowing the water to trickle in. The excess water produced was being collected by a pot sitting beneath the exit.

After a moment or two, Jed noticed that steam was escaping one of joints of the alembic. He looked around for something to seal the offending joint and caught the sight of a bag of flour. It was left behind by the perfumery's previous owner, but it was not until now that the young Sitai realized it was of use. Though he was not certain it would work, he decided to try it out. Working quickly, his fingers dug into the flour, grabbing a handful and setting it on the counter. Adding water, he mixed the two together to form a paste. It was a bit more watery than he thought would be useful and so he added more flour to help balance the mix. Once satisfied, Jed dipped his fingers into the pot of cold water (to avoid burning) before pushing the paste into the joint. All there was left to do was wait, and so the Sitai exited his lab and entered the storefront. It was empty, aside from Chessa; typical on an early morning. Jed browsed the pale shelves in wait, arranging bottles here and there out of boredom. Rather than straightening them up, he was making more a mess in his sloppy attempt at beautifying the display. Sighing silently, Chessa followed her master along, fixing every bottle he readjusted.
