[The Quarters] Settling In

Postby Khasara re Menehat on September 22nd, 2013, 6:35 am

11th Day of Autumn, 513 AV

It was cold. It was grey. It was small. The golem she had asked directed Khasara to a building unceremoniously titled “Quarters”, though to her they looked more like sixteenths. The barred window let in just enough light for her to see a thin mat placed atop a slab of stone that took up most of the tiny room, despite the fact that she was fairly sure it couldn’t fit all of her if she laid straight on it. What wasn’t taken up by the bed was occupied by a chamber pot that looked like the rooms last occupant had died in it and nobody had the decency to clean it out. Khasara choked on the smell.

She had chosen this room for the simple fact that all the other first floor rooms were taken, and she wasn’t going to drag her great chest up another flight of stairs. There had already been far too many for her liking. She would have been happy to drag it to the lower levels, but she heard from one of the apprentices that they had no windows, and she wasn’t sure she’d wake up if there wasn’t any sunlight to wake her.

She looked from the space that held the chamber pot to her great chest. I might just be able to fit it under if I got some help…no, I can’t do that! The restroom can’t be on top of the food source! But…where else am I supposed to keep it? In the hall? Someone will steal it! I spent all my money on that food! She looked from the chest, to the pot, her eyes blazing with the challenge. I could put it under the mat? It’s nearly long enough to cover the whole slab…but then I’ll have even less space to sleep than I already do. Decisions, decisions…

She continued to muse, standing in the hallway with her enormous box of food.

[The Quarters] Settling In

Postby Maduro Salvitary on September 23rd, 2013, 4:36 am

Maduro had a way about him even in this dark depressing place, his abilities to be charming had a certain appeal that got him what he wanted. Even the dead remembered there lives as when they still drew breath and while many hearts stopped beating there was something to be said for the distinct pleasures of conversation and company to anchor ones sanity so it may not wander adrift especially in a place such as this.

Maduro was dressed casually, his garb consisted of a black shirt, pants, belt and leather shoes. The whole idea behind the wardrobe was to accentuate and highlight his own masculine features. He liked to think of himself as relatively good looking man, he had ice blue eyes and meticulously well kept hair his whole look was about being crisp and clean. Once upon a time in the outside world he was the kind of man that had women eating out of the palm of his hand.

There was no fancy jewelry on his person however what he did wear was a little more special. A cologne made from all kinds of aphrodisiacs and herbs. It was a fragrance that highlighted powerful floral notes that blended into a spicey musk. Sometimes not always it could drive a persons inner desires wild, it could be extremely potent and alluring with a lulling quality. It declared its commanding aromatic presence by overpowering or at the very least masking the musk of rotting food, mold and other unpleasantries in the most gallant of fashions.

He seemed to walk down the hallway with no real purpose, one echoing step after another as if he was simply getting a feel for this gloomy place.

[The Quarters] Settling In

Postby Khasara re Menehat on September 24th, 2013, 5:07 am

Khasara could smell the man before she turned to see him, his aroma overwhelming the unpleasant scent of the room she had to look forward to sleeping in. He sauntered down the hall, giving her no more than a passing glance that made her feel oddly inadequate. She frowned, having the feeling pile atop her other minuscule worries.

“Excuse me? Sir?” she called out to him, her grasp of the common tongue obviously rather loose. Her Arumeic accent was thick and she had trouble remembering that the subtle gestures present in High Arumeic did not apply to common. It made her move in a way that seemed unnecessary, for too much movement often denoted impatience among the common folk. “Could I trouble you for some help?”

She had decided that she was going to sleep on top of the chest, as it was the most sanitary and economical move in terms of the little space she had. Sure, her head would bump the ceiling if she sat up too fast, but what was life without a little adventure?

[The Quarters] Settling In

Just a little more shine and polish and he could become an expert in the art of seduction. It was an old game, to feign disinterest in order to attract attention. It simply put more cards in his hand when the person came to him. Usually when this trick is played out the more lack of enthusiasm he displayed the better the social bargaining chip.

His echoing footsteps had stopped, his back was turned as he drew a heavy breath.

It was true that in common place affairs that Eypharian eccentricity in subtle gestures were often overlooked. But to a seducer it was often the minor details that mattered the most. Maduro was drawing in his Djed letting it flow from his body into a thought, he spent but a moment weaving this energy forming its flowing form in a round about way as it was seeping with thought and feeling. The goal was to create a spell to overwhelm her senses in one fell swoop. He needed it to be just vague enough but also precise enough to have her dial this emotional que onto him.

The thought he wove was I Must Have Him, it was wrapped in intricately with emotion of need and want, a tapestry of temptation that challenged her to take him.

As he turned around to greet the Eypharian he slipped this potent subliminal message into the fabric of her mind before she had time to properly prepare herself. He would hit extremely hard and fast, in his circles it was an advanced technique known as a Sudden Thought but he had done his a little differently by adding the flavor of emotion to the artificial notion.

His sky blue eyes were now cast upon her form and he smiled unwittingly as if confused by her question. These icey blue pools seemed to have this magnetic quality that could turn a gander into a look and a look into a downright stare. His presence could be described as bewitching thanks to his seductive charms.

He smiled reaching his hand out to shake hers, acting unaware that anything could possibly be amiss.

I'd be delighted

How may I be of service to a beautiful woman?

With a sense of grace and poise I might add

[The Quarters] Settling In

Postby Khasara re Menehat on September 27th, 2013, 9:33 pm

As Khasara turned and her eye met his a desire, no, a need, welled up in her. I must have him, she thought, curious feelings of ownership rising up in her. I must OWN him, they continued, the thoughts now less foreign. Her mother had often said that she was owned by the brothel she worked at, and as she looked over the man she could tell he would do well in similar fields of seduction.

She blushed, looking him over. He was certainly quite attractive, but it was against her tenants to take such a man for herself without first being beaten in honorable combat. No, this man would be hers, but not for long. She would capture him, trap him, and sell him, so as to make some money whilst on the island. She didn’t know if he’d passed his Judgement yet, or if he was one of the residents but he seemed far too warm and welcoming to be one of the Nuit masters. If he had passed his Judgement, she could not sell him back to Sahova, and would have to send word back to Zeltiva to sell him to the pleasure house her mother worked at.

Slavery was not unfamiliar to her people, but it seemed an odd concept to her. She’d heard tales of the swamps of Kenash, a great city populated by slave owners and their property. She’d heard of how her race had enslaved the Benshira in days gone by, and how it had been the golden age of her race. Perhaps owning slaves was a sign of wealth, she did not know. What she did know is that she only brought enough food for a year, and keeping him for any length of time would be wasteful. If she was going to indulge in taking this man, she was going to make a profit out of it.

She smiled, blushing further at his compliments. “I was wondering if you could help me with my chest,” she said, motioning to the enormous lockbox on the floor. “I need to get it on top of the stone there, but under the cushion. Alone I cannot lift it for very long, but I’m sure with the help of such a strong man we could get it up, yes?” She turned, moving to one side of the box and grasping one of the handles. “What is your name, sir? Are you an Apprentice here?”

Help you with your chest?

He raised a brow and smiled a bit

Well your in luck, this Maduro happens to be a master of the chest.

He seemed amused with himself before nodding to her as she motioned to the chest.

Ahh I see, sometimes a large chest can be unmanageable but I assure you it's in good capable hands. It's all about the approach really, you have to be firm yet supple. You need to be in control but also empathize

As he walked over the item he let his hands glide down the wood, till he ended up to metallic handle which he gripped.after making bit of a show, he was clearly still having fun with his word play. And often oppurtunity for fun on the island was far and few between, she was welcome to join him if she wished.

He remained stationary for a moment, as he took a breath he drew in Djed and focused his mind upon this 6th sense of sorts. He let it flood his senses and so as to allow him to do things that ordinary senses could not. It would unveil her Aura, but despite being a novice major details the most prominent ones would unveil themselves. What he could sense was magic what kind he could not tell however the swirls and shades also told him that she was healthy and without injury. But the rest was vague so much information was there but he still had not reached new levels of enlightenment therefor that knowledge more subtle was lost on him. However he'd be able some glimpses as he fooled around, his fun of games might have been more then just that as he was feeling her out.

Aye I just arrived on the Island myself, I was expecting a little bit more fun. But luckily I stumbled upon a beautiful woman, my names Maduro what's yours? Are you an apprentice?

He would leave it at that and awaited her instructions to move the chest

[The Quarters] Settling In

Postby Khasara re Menehat on September 29th, 2013, 6:34 am

In truth, this man disgusted her. Though he was pretty, that was true, as soon as he opened his mouth sexual slurs flowed from it like a river of sewage. She held back from making a face, and instead managed to force a smile. If she was to capture him, he had to feel safe. She had to lure him in before the barb would catch.

“I only arrived on the island earlier today, in truth,” she said with a sigh, grabbing her side of the chest by its handle and lifting. The box was heavy, as its contents alone were nearly 200 pounds and as it was made of dense and sturdy oak there was no denying that it was heavy. Yet it was much easier to carry with the help of this odd pervert.

He’s strong she thought. That’s good. He’ll sell for more if he’s in good shape, which he appears to be in. His mouth may lower his price, though. He sure does like to talk. Being used to a more subtle form of communication, his forthcoming innuendos seemed barbaric in practice and awfully confusing. Was he talking about her food chest or her breasts? She could not be sure, but assumed the worst. It was easier to enslave someone if you could dehumanize them, first.

“I am pleased to meet you, Mr. Maduro. I am Khasara.”

She helped him heft the chest into the room, lifting the sleeping mat and placing the chest between it and the stone slab it would normally rest upon. She set it down with a huff. “Perhaps we could get to know each other better? I am looking to make friends here.”

[The Quarters] Settling In

Postby Maduro Salvitary on September 30th, 2013, 8:30 pm

Certain emotions were harder to hide, the more intense an emotion or feeling the easier it was for an Aurist to zero in on. Disgust, that was a powerful feeling more potent then a dislike or being unamused. And while this surge changed the color of her aura into murky sinking shades she smiled at him. And while he was beginning to peel back the layers he discovered she still wanted him. It was perplexing and his mind was adrift as he attempted to figure it out, coming to only two conclusions.

She had either found him out as a hypnotist, or she was just using him to move the chest.

When they had finished moving the chest in her room Maduro propped his back against the stone wall, as the Epharian woman took a seat on her chest.

Maduro was a scary fellow as in despite what he was reading, he continued his up beat charade never loosing his smooth endearing flow.

" So what would you like to know about me?

And did you say you wanted to be friends with me? I mean what would a beautiful woman such as yourself want with me?"

He smiled In her direction waiting answers.
