Lab 23-F Lab 23-F is located alongside other Private Labs on the 23rd floor of the Gug Adjak. The door is heavy stone reinforced with iron, with a plaque bolted into the stone titling the room Private Lab 23-F; Research of Reimantic Paraelements. The room is comparatively large to other private labs, though anyone who knows of the experiments that take place within this lab realize that it calls for the extra space. A raised area sits atop a large pit in the spherical room. Atop the platform is a desk, where Azhak, the Wizard of this lab, does his recording. Below is the testing area, which helps him keep his experiments in a confined space with both stone and magic. Both are lit by small, white glowing stones, though the testing area often has an enormous brazier aflame, and the desk is often accentuated with candles. At the time of his transformation he was a professor at one of the most prestigious military academies in all of Alahea. He had desires to one day head the Alahean military but, seeing Kovinus I and his pitiful rule forced him to see that this would not happen in his normal lifetime. He took up the shroud of undeath and watched as his beloved country fell apart around him. He developed an intense hatred for the Suvan Empire and devoted his unlife to helping Alahea take over the world. At the time of the Valterrian he had just made it within the walls of Sahova, far from the blast that created the Suvan Sea. Since then he has focused his experiments on discovering the ultimate paraelement, which he calls “Virsegia” or “Vir” for short, which he believes to be a mixture of earth, air, fire and water working in harmony with one and other. He has yet to succeed and has had to contain a great number of his experiments so they would not destroy portions of the island, leading to his work with Sheilding. He is a massive sadist who, if you ask him to initiate you into Reimancy, will happily begin to do so only to set your blood aflame. He’s been visited by Krysus on a number of occasions and works closely with the chief disciplinary officer of Sahova and the Silence. Since he assumes he has all eternity to experiment, he will happily take time off to straighten out any annoyances of the Council of Five. However, if you manage to get on his good side he is a fairly good teacher and one of the most well known (read ‘infamous’) shield mages on Sahova. Credits to Khasara re Menehat for location and NPC.
