30th of Fall
Sayren approached the Employment office. After having successful gotten back onto her feet and trained for a few days, she decided that maybe taking on a few extra odd jobs here and there would help her save up some mizas to purchase some other items she wanted. Especially since she wanted to finally get some arrows for her bow and possibly train with that for awhile. She had been so focused with her unarmed combat style that she had lost thought about her archery.
Normally, she would also add on getting a sword too. However, chances of that were likely not to happen. Considering the monks of Uphis, she was still surprised Revy was able to get away with her heavy armor and her longsword. Then again, she probably gave off a rather intimidating stance towards them if tried to approach her otherwise.
She came to a stop in front of the board in the middle of the employment office. She took a glance at both sides just to see what all was available currently. On the left, Ravok Emissaries requesting for more guards, not surprising after what happened to that one Ravokian a few days prior. A stallion needs breaking? Matteo can't be arsed? Sayren gave a small grin for that one. She would have to keep that one in mind for now.
Seeing that the others weren't really all that fascinating to her, she switched her attention towards the right board. Which was more particularly odder jobs from what she could tell now. The first being a child that can set things ablaze with his mind. A sitter was needed. By the seven...not a chance. She loved children, but a child that can start fires with his mind was a frightening thought. Next was Joshua Channin. Apparently he needed young and attractive women to help perform a dramatic interpretation of the monk's third trial? The petch? Was this supposed to be some sort of Nykan play? While she enjoyed the ones back in Endrykas, she never took the Nykans to really be...well...lovers of the arts. Sure, most of the tales and plays done in Endrykas were shyked through and under constant on the spot changes. But that was the beauty of it. It was always a different story being told.
Below that, she saw a random assortment of numbers. Her eyes widen for a brief moment. "The Web..." Her lips passed for a moment. It was lengthened, but she could recognize some of it. They were the numbers she had recorded off the dead goat the previous season. Least she thought they were. She quickly checked her pockets and cursed as she realized she hadn't kept the parchment with her. She would have to come back another day for it. She highly doubted that the job would be taken with such specific numerations on it.
That was when she noticed that another woman had placed her finger on the job for Joshua as well. Sayren crossed her arms, "Hope you don't plan on taking that one. I already planned on taking that one on myself." Even though there wasn't a lick of intimidation in her, she knew that if you weren't tough with Nykans, they would walk all over you if they get the chance.

"Now ladies, there's no reason to fight!"
Joshua Channin, who was standing some ways inside the quarries, didn't exactly look like a playwright. He was large and muscular, with a shaved head, ribbon-like scars across his arms and face, and itty black eyes on a bullish face. He wore a bright red tunic and dark orange flare pants, with thick black gloves and boots. He was holding a lantern. "There's plenty of room for both of you. Please! Come closer, so I can get a good look at you."
There was a faint scuffing behind a rather large pile of rocks hugging the right wall around then- but then, weren't things always shifting around at night? Far behind him, something large and likely metal glinted. |

Sayren was now able to get a better look at the woman. She was certainly attractive and she wasn't going to hide it. Most of her curve was revealed in her corset and leather pants. Where as Sayren only had her simple tan tunic and black tights. Along with her boots, but she wasn't sure how those would compare to this other female.
The woman said her name was Save'? Oh great...sounds just like Savio. Just shorter. In fact, she was much shorter. Even with her boots, Sayren easily towered the woman by a few inches. Veering away from her size, Save' asked if Sayren would be interested in joining her, stating that the parchment did ask for multiple women.
Before Sayren could give her answer, a man approached them, telling them enough fighting and that he had room for them both there. It felt even more off now then it did at the employment office. Not only was this man large, but he seemed marred from hours of labor. His clothes were rather simple too.
He asked to see the both of them, much closer. Wasn't the light enough for him to see? Her senses were already over-tuned in from it being night. The darkness had a way with doing that when it partially robs you of your sight. She could've swore she heard something scampering about off to the right. And the massive glinting metal in the distance behind Joshua wasn't too convincing either.
Taking a chance, Sayren walked up to the man, "I'm guessing you are Joshua Channin? The man who posted the add on the wall in the Employment office?"

"Yeah, that's me..." he said slowly, eyes flitting between the two women. After Synie passed the formation, he gave a quick nod. "Yeah. You two will do nicely."
It was around that time that the girls' mistrust was quite blatantly revealed to be perfectly justified. A net was quickly thrown over the Dhani, and Sayren could hear the tramp of footsteps behind her as four men armed with nets and cudgels burst from the formation, all clad in black, and all wearing masks.
Joshua also chose that moment to surge forward and seize Sayren in a bear hug- though the wisdom of such an action was still up for debate. Meanwhile, three of the men approached Synie, while the fourth went to help the "playwright." |

Sayren's eyes widen as she saw the four men approach her and Save'. But before she could get much change to react. The so called gentleman playwright wrapped his arms around her in a bear hug. Trying to contain her while one of the masked men approached from behind.
Sayren growled as she glared at Joshua, "Look here you pathetic shyke! No man puts his hands on me!" And with that, she leaned over and clamped her jaws on his neck near his throat. Edging her canines into his skin to make it extra painful. Giving only a moment later before completely tearing off that patch of skin off his neck.
Should this work like she planned, Josh will drop her to try to stop the immense pain in his neck. Giving her a chance to land on her feet and crouch low to the ground. Then raising up with her knee burrowing hard into Josh's crotch. Thanks to her rising up, it added momentum to make her strike harder. This would at least drop him for a few ticks for recovery. Providing her with a chance to face off against her other foe.
However, if he did not drop her. She will then spit into his face. Distracting him long enough so she can lean back and wail her head forward in a skull bash. Forcing him to drop her at this point. But leaving them both in temporarily dazed. She didn't think his head was THAT hard. She did manage to throw in a quick punch with her left fist to Josh's crotch. One way or another, she was going to make sure this man dropped.
Depending on which reaction worked, she will face the second man either ready, or still in a recovering daze. She slipped into her stance and readied for the man's approach.

This did not go as well as it should have. Oh, Josh dropped Sayren all right- it's rare to find a man who will stay resolute while bleeding profusely- but the woman had underestimated how much said bleeding would spur his comrade. She barely had time to process the scene in front of her before two feet slammed into her chest and sent her tumbling to the ground. Fortunately, Joshua was too busy rolling around in agony to help much. Unfortunately, the man who had thrown himself at Sayren was already hauling himself back up, and snatched at her ankle, raising his cudgel to strike at the poor girl's shin.
Save` in the meantime was rewarded rather gruesomely with a large chunk of nose in her mouth. The net thrower fell back screaming, clutching his face as rivulets of blood trickled between his fingers. Sadly, the woman had, perhaps, not quite thought this whole plan through. For while she had disabled one of the three, and seized control of the net, the Dhani had forgotten to account for the two men behind her. They decided to helpfully remind Save` by tackling her. This was not going well. |
